I want to know more about this build.

hrine of Amana
is easily my least favorite area so far. The mages really ruin it.

Besides that area, it's been true what people said about this game getting better and better until the end, I just made it to the boss of
Undead Crypt
, great throwback.

Well yeah that's a given but what stats should I focus on so I could Dempsey Roll some fools?

Ceastus scales very well in this game, even with faith builds, especially when you infuse it with either magic or lightning. Im knocking fools out with a raw ceastus and a fire ceastsus which scales good with STR/DEX

Finally beat
Darklurker
with 4 effigies to spare (three of which I farmed because I was running low). I got so ridiculously lucky on my winning run
as a mainly dex/strength build with 10 int the only good pyromancy I could use was flame swath with 2 casts. After the boss split after taking half of its health I cast both of them, and both of them hit both Darklurkers. Half of its health down with pyro with just 10 int.
. I had way better runs, but who needs skill when you can just get lucky.

Are there only two optional bosses, not counting
Ancient Dragon
? Because in that case I believe I've done all there is, I feel so empty now, NG+ is just not the same.

I will protect this belfry with my dual caestus.

Have you found any good combos that aren't too obvious? I saw that you can get an uppercut if you go R1 L1. Do you use powerstance?

I've been thinking about trying a Dual poison Caestus Dual bleed Claw build just to be super fucking annoying.

Many bosses are optional.
Royal Rat Authority, King Vendrick, Ancient Dragon, Darklurker, Executioner's Chariot, Flexile Sentry (OR the Pursuer, gotta pick one to access Lost Bastille), the Belfry Gargoyles, Old Dragonslayer, Smelter Demon.

A wiki states that the Royal Rat Vanguard is also optional, but I don't see how you access the Gutter without killing it? Unless I'm remembering the path wrong.

So my new goal for the time being is to get the platinum on PS3 before the PC version comes out, so I have all 3 Platinums for the Souls series(my only plats).

The only ones I'm missing are the "collect all" for the spells (sorcery, hexes, pyromancies, miracles) and I'm kinda brainstorming how to get them most efficiently. I'm sure the hardest ones to get are the ridiculous covenant rewards (BoB) and the ones that aren't even available until NG+ or higher. I have 2 characters at "end game" with all bosses down and ready to move to NG+.

Does anyone have advice or a guide they used as not to miss anything before i move over to NG+?

No point going dual caestus if you don't powerstance IMO....

The heavy attack is all kinds of silly though...

Ok, gotcha. So I need to raise my INT and FAITH considerably to be able to use it. Ugh.

40 INT and 24 faith. the number of projectiles depends on your int, at 40=3, 50=4 and 60=5. honestly 3 projectiles are fine for most medium builds, but against full havel str build it's going to be a bit more... difficult.

Thanks. I did all of those in a regular run (apart from
Darklurker, Royal Rat Authority, went looking for those. O, and Vendrick, forgot about him.
, so I didn't really think about them being optional. In that case it does look like I'm done with NG.

As for Royal Rat Vanguard being somewhat optional;
that guy next to the well sells you a long ladder near the end of the game, you can go straight to the bridge with the suicide mummies with that ladder and two jumps.

there are three exits in the pit of majula. the first one leads to the saint's grave, the second one to a locked door and some chests and the third one way down below leads to the area where you drop after the royal rat vanguard fight.

edit: welp, beaten.

Some hexes need a staff, some need a chime... ah, was hoping Idol's chime was the best for hexes because that's the one I decided to upgrade
its a gooder for sure....but the minor differences all around have me questioning things like weight, and effect on strike...there is a friggin bat staff that poisons people if you hit them with it! And there are still a few icons I have no idea what they are for even with a guide....the guide does not spell it out pardon the pun! For example what is the scroll icon for?

I guess it comes down to three main things:
1.) the base spell power - over 200 is better than under 200 the highest two are 250-260 but I do not think they have S rating at all and one of the two ratings usually is quite low, like one is A and another D.
2.) the spell power derived from bonuses - which I cant seem to find listed similarly to how it is for weapons (could be having an inept/aderpt moment) edit:(you have to equip it...but the guide shows max levels including the scaling I guess...I may have missed what they say the SL is for these maxed stats though.)
3.) the number of different elements it can channel simultaneously, basically magic, fire, lightning, and/or dark - there is a staff that goes 220 across the board a la talisman of beasts! This one might be my favourite as I hate switching out all the time, but I bet once I get used to controls the multiple slots will have me stashing light and powerful specialty chimes and staffs to get the max spell power for each hex, miracle, pyro, or spell. Upgrading them all will be tough, but this is usually how I roll given enough co-op sessions. But dat Soul memory BS! So much to consider!

Just invaded in the belfry against two other players, another belfry bro had invaded before and he was also a dual Caestus wielder, and had barely any HP left.

And we rocked em and socked em hard...

recommended class for Ippo build?
gonna go back and forth between my hexer and a new build

So I'm level 100 with 35 strength/20 dex and have been using a fire longsword+10 since pretty much the start of the game. I have a feeling my next zone
Iron Keep
won't be too kind to any weapon with fire on it, so I'd love some recommendations as for what weapons I should look into.

I've been rocking a Lightning Large Club+10. I'm the same as you on STR - 35. But have 25 DEX. But, it absolutely wrecks the Alonne Knights guys (two shot kills) and it's super effective on the boss, too.

I was watching a new player on her video and she accidently took a whole whack of VGR by mistake instead of spreading her points how she wanted.....so she said fuck it and went all the way down the well and missed the rat stuff even without the ladder. I was sorry for her but she wants no spoilers so I have to keep my mouth shut in the comments! She also made that jump in the main rotunda down there...I didnt even think it was possible and did not even try it!

According to the quick travel screen I'm missing two bonfires in Drangleic Castle. I've got the first one and the central one, but there's apparently two in-between that I've missed?

Just great...
The game just scammed me for the
Brightstone
Key. The enemy who drops it died the same second my character did. I've seen the item drop but when I returned, neither item nor enemy was there. Goddamnit! I wanted to clear everything but I don't want to waste a Bonfire Ascetic on this zone. Guess I'm gonna have to.

Using the fire longsword for the whole game so far, which you find in
forest of the giants
. Had to invest a few points, but not many. There doesn't seem to be many low stat requirement weapons.

the heide sword seems ideal for hexes considering you need lots of faith and faith = lightning no? It would be better for and INT heavy character though. I guess I dont really know yet how the different hexes break down and whether I will go heavier in one than the other regarding faith or INT. Right now I am 22 a piece.

A side note about the heide sword....anyone else notice there is no lightning icon on it? (rhetorical) but you can imbue it further with boltstone with Mc Duff and raise that lightning damage even higher!!! mind blown by bolt stone. Can all weapons be infused with stones when they already have that element imbued? Is it on purpose or a glitch soon to be nerfed?

the invasions have started now i feel like this is dark souls!

sorry if i missed this do you get souls for killing invaders?

Yeh you can get to The Gutter without having to even get involved with Grave of Saints and the Royal Rat Guard. It's the lowest exit in the pit.

Vendrick
is finally dead that giant zombie bastard. I had the toughest time with this boss. If he clipped me with the first hit his 2 or 3 hit horizontal swing combo, it stunlocked me and I was gone and my magic was doing NOTHING it was pitiful.

The twat that rings the bell under the stairs, I killed him enough time to stop him from spawning so it took about 13 or 14 tries to kill the boss.
