There's nothing more fun than casting Chameleon in a high place, waiting until the other player to be near/under you, throwing out an "I'm Sorry" carving and then going back to Chameleon before they notice and then watching them look around in confusion.
LiK, sorry that's what happens when you kill the second boss. Got my wires crossed sorry.
Re: human effigies. The water lizard enemies in Shrine of Amana can drop them. I got 9 from killing everyone in Things Betwixt, I didn't use them for most of the game so I had a huge stockpile and always wore the gold serpent ring and the explorer's hat.
The Ancient Dragon gives you a key item that lets you interact with the dead giant things in Forest of Fallen Giants, activate each one and get the giant's soul from inside each 'memory'.
in the first area of the game right beyond the pursuer boss area there's a tree, the item you want its in his memory, of course i assume you already have the item that lets you enter memories from the ancient dragon. Also pull the lever
There's more? Guess I'll need to do that. I may play offline there. Got invaded again in the castle by some pyro asshole. I don't need them fucking me up when there's enough enemies around already.

Anyone know of any bosses/major enemies that are susceptible to bleed?
The Lifehunt Scythe was my weapon of choice in original Dark Souls but so far based on my limited use with the Chariot Lance, bleed as a whole doesn't appear to be nearly as useful as it was in original Dark Souls.
Yeah.....he gave me a little trouble. Try to roll towards him when he swings and stay behind him while circling around. Only slash him a few times and be prepared to roll or block when he attacks. Keep your stamina up whenever possible. When he does that aerial downward thrust attack, roll out of the way and stay way back so the force field won't hit you. That is normally the best time to heal or buff up. The flash sweat also worked pretty good for me and try to buff up your sword with Pine Resin/lightning to do more damage to him.
I think The Chasm of the Abyss is my favorite place for invading. It is a near 100% invasion rate and there are no helper phantoms or gankers to worry about.
Only downside is the enemies will attack you and if you are not the one to kill the host you lose. Winning gets you bonfire aesthetics plus the chance to really ruin someone's day. Considering you need to be human and is costs an effegy just to get in.
I have been trolling people with Affinity, Soul Spear, Toxic Mist and Corrosive Urns.
I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before, but are people staying at a particular SL? To get my character optimal I'm aiming for around 160,but I'm afraid I won't be able to co-op if that's too high (esp. once I hit NG+ and NG++).
Was soooo close
to keeping Lucatiel alive during Smelter Demon. Finished off the Smelter Demon, but will probably have to use an escetic when facing Gutter so i can get that trophy
.
Still rolling with a magic mace. Damn it does damage, but I'm hoping I'll find something with better reach (like a "bastard sword" type hammer).
I haven't tried it personally, but I've heard people say a good strat to keeping
Lucatiel alive (as well as other NPC summons) is to equip a RedEye Ring to keep the Boss aggro'd on you and the NPC can bumble around and not get killed.
Dropping by to say I find the moveset of the Royal Greatsword completely filthy - slashes, chops, stabs, twirly-birds, and mixes in some badass ninja stances post-move. Really, really like.
boss. Think I'll tackle the actual game ending boss tomorrow. Still so much to do afterwards
And yeah, seems the K
ing
V
endrick
boss fight is indeed glitched the first time you meet him. Took his health down to like half before he killed me. Damn his swings pack a punch! Oh well, time to gather up some Great Souls.
was kicking my ass for 2 hours at least. Plus I'm also trying to keep the NPC alive as well. This boss feels kinda cheap. I had to summon help. I was using the red eye ring as well.
The red eye ring doesn't seem to work that well online (only worked like 50% of the time).
Speaking of bugs, sometimes when I use a homebone, my spell/estus use is not restored and other times it is - Which is it supposed to be and which is the bug, or is it conditional? (scratches head)
same for returning after helping in co-op...sometimes I come back with a full charge other times not.
Damn there are a lot of people using acetic on the smelter demon....my lightign spears were barely notching a life bar drain at all....got new records for souls counts on my person though as we actually beat him once at that level. think I got 20-20k just for being the third helper.
Yeah generally - most attacks are one shot kills - most summons die within the first 2 fire blasts - and all the summoning then accomplishes is significantly boosting the boss's defense. With that said though - I always find summoning signs for that fight near the bonfire there. 145-155 seems to be the sweet spot for summons from what I saw yesterday.

If you are going to try to block them, its best to get something with 100% fire resist instead. To be honest though, you need a lot of stamina to truck through both the ticks the damage does. It took me a while, but I finally beat the dragon a slightly different way...
Run behind him, attack his back legs, but be sure you turn the camera around so you are basically looking directly at the dragon's rear section. Its a lot easier to see which way his tail goes when he leaps up, and the direction you need to run to in order to avoid the flames. Stamina regen equipment works wonders here and allows you a bit more time to escape. Additionally, if you do get hit by the flames but don't die (such as if you have the quartz ring equipped or something similar, as soon as he lands, you can quickly chug estus to get back to full health as long as you aren't directly under him. Also - if you are a mage, that's the time to get off a couple of spells, as there's a moment that he won't do any attacks.
i had the same thing happen in the area before the skeleton lords. is that the same spot? i also had one hanging with both arms like a monkey in that hut with 2-3 in them.

What stats are you running with for str and dex? I tried it out earlier but i don't think my str and dex were high enough because i felt a little underwhelmed.
The only shield I know to work against this boss is a +10 Gyrm greatshield, with about 20 endurance. That's enough to block 2 ticks (you get guardbroken on the second tick but it doesn't matter since you don't take damage from it in this game, as opposed to DS1).
