What's the best chime to be using at 30 faith? Never been able to understand the stat screens on catalysts/talismans etc in Souls games :/
Chime of Want
is the best Hex chime in the game..
yeah its nice to have high hex and lightning, but hard to upgrade until late game? I have not found one dragon bone midway through.
I've ventured a little into
the shaded woods
and seem to be blocked everywhere. Can I basically do nothing there until I have
lit the 4 primal bonfires
?
actually the first time I went in there I was blocked by two different doors, but a Million souls memory later and only 2 of four boss souls I walked right in to one of them.

There's no way to lock onto these guys right? This area is really annoying as a caster.

I found a chest in this area that I'm pretty sure has the
Clear Bluestone Ring +1
since I saw it on the stream, but I got ganged up by these guys and I don't stand a chance. Now I can't find the chest again.

I think I will try out scraps of life next time I corall a bunch of those guys by me...

Nah you're fine. I was a little lower SL than that my first time, and like 103 this time.
Yeah I got the blue ring, as a melle character this time though! If you hug the right wall you find a different chest. It also has a ring I suspect is meant to be worn in the area, but I got outright backstabbed and one shotted, so the supposed effects of the ring didnt work. I got about four items just running around in there...hope that's everything, I dont care to fight the invisible. They shoot arrows as well.

yeah I was there earlier today, but i am recording a let's play so didnt want to hurt my viewers any more and went to the foggy area instead...much easier. My dex chick just dulled all her blades on those stone fuckers...I trieed a large club but it is unupgraded and makes me slow as molasses...upgraded it might actually help with those asses though. Only have 15 str and it was two shotting them at base. But my rickards rapier had to take a break. Tried pyro for a while but low upgrade there as well...nothing worked great now, will come back later.

Can you only respec once?
I wish there was a consensus on adaptability, having it at 19, really don't know if its making much of a difference or not..

Oh, come on From Software...
I just killed a boss not knowing that it's the final boss before the credits roll. Fuck this shit! I wanted to light the last primal bonfire, kill
the king
... I've collected the stupid
five giant souls
, all for nothing. I really didn't suspect the boss to be the last one. The fight was so trivial, I was under the impression it's another optional boss... I'm so angry right now. i don't want to start NG+ yet! >_<

Edit: Oh, apparently NG+ must be initiated manually and doesn't start right after the credits, lucky me.

You'll be less upset in a few minutes.

SO where do I go to access the
Giant Memories? I'm still at Ancient Dragon, but I don't want to fight him anymore, where do I go now?

THEY FUCKING RESPAWN TOO? Are you joking? Are you seriously joking? And I'm invaded too? HAHAHA, I'm literally crying with joy.

Damn, every time I open this thread I see those kind of posts from you. If you don't enjoy the game because it's soooo unfair/hard and because you were soooo unlucky farming your katanas ... just stop playing it?

edit: phone typo

After 150 hours, I decided to go the NG+ route and man, it's stressful not knowing if there's gonna be a (or multiple even) Black Phantom around the corner. And dat damage! Really need to be careful.
So far I beat 3 bosses, not really difficult because those didn't change from NG.

Fuck off. If I wasn't having fun would I still be here? Am i not allowed to rage? It's fun to let of a little steam. I've beaten every boss I've raged about. In the future I'll make a note not to ever post in this thread again.

Don't mind him, half the fun of the souls series for some people is how mad they can get at stuff :P

He's wheelin' and deelin' in heaven now! :'( *sniff*

You can actually bring Galvan back- learned this the hard way:

go human- go back to the wharf area where you killed him- same spot he was
In will be a gravestone-pay 3000 souls and his ghost will return- wheel/deal away.

It annoys me and that's why I said something about it.

Sure, everybody is allowed to rage and vent. But not if you do this 20 minutes straight - while ignoring every piece of advice how to make Black Gulch easier for you.

And no, telling random people to fuck themselves isn't acceptable either. Especially when, again, people tried to help you.

I'm guessing the second part of the game is when the difficulty ramps up? Boy is this castle hard. Dual
Dragon Riders
may be hard. Alone? He's ajoke and barely any worse then the enemies. But, when you got one firing arrows like a jackass, then things get kinda difficult.

I think my issue was I had sweaty hands. I shouldn't eat popcorn while fighting a boss.

That's really not my problem. I'll rage as much as I like. I took the advice...eventually. But, I've already slaughtered that boss.

Only somewhat on topic, but thought I'd share my Solaire #IDARB character creation:

Yeah both bosses felt really out of place difficulty wise. I breezed through the final Iron Keep boss but had to summon help for the middle one.

I think in some of those situations a Souls games can't address the difficulty curve because of all the variances with classes, items and soul levels. Although some bosses are just a holes for everyone.

Wait, there's rules as to how much we can rage and vent? You're kind of being a huge buzzkill. Part of the appeal of these games for many people, myself included, is overcoming what feels like monumental adversity and getting really pissed off while trying it.

It also works. I found that if I rage, I will beat the boss. If I don't, I will die. Mark my words. Honestly though the biggest thing I hate about this game is the way it ruined RPGs for me.

No, there are no such rules. I'm simply saying that the same "Seriously ... fuck [insert boss]. That's fucking stupid." gets annoying after a certain point. At least to me. Especially when he ignored every advice myself or other people were trying to give him.

If I ignored the boss advice, would I have beaten them? No. I took your advice. I just never would have admitted it. Doing so would have been a "told ya so sonny" moment. Awkward.

Relax. Block him if it annoys you so much. A lot of people here enjoy commiserating.

I'm not even talking about any boss advice(?). IIRC it was about the torches and big dogs. Actually I just mixxed up the zone names didn't I? I meant the one before. The Gutter.

Anyway, that doesn't matter. Check my profile - I'm only posting here to give tips and help other people. So no, there won't allways be a "told you so" moment after a simple "thanks" or acknowledging people.

Worst room/area design in the entire damn game. It's not fun or challenging, it's just plain damn stupid.

Haven't got there yet, seems to be like the 2 archers in Anor Londo where I was really ready to through my disc out the window, go down to where it landed and smash it with a baseball bat, and then run it over with my car. So cheap...

Gonna disagree with you there. It's all easy to avoid if you know what door goes where, and even if you don't you can open each door at a time and fight whatever comes out. I agree, it's a shitty room, but manageable with a bit of caution.

My personal least favorite so far has got to be
the pit full of uber undead mages that spawn every time the bells are tolled in the Undead Crypt
. Makes me cringe just thinking about it...

Ng+ spoiler
Twin pursuers
down first try. Had literally no life left bar was empty they both had tiny bit.of health left. Risked a chaos storm and caught em both straight away luckily. Tense. Best fight in the game for me so far.

Currently I am trying to get every spell I can before I move onto NG+. Right now I am currently trying to get Hidden Weapon from rank 2 on the Bell Keepers covenant.

Guess my level 202 really comes in handy here, as I am really powering myself through each summon. Most of it being my +10 pyro glove with Forbidden Sun & Flame Swathe. :lol

I feel a little guilty though. But I think I might be limited to people with my soul memory limit?

The one with the bow dies pretty quickly. As soon as you enter the boss room, just run over to where he's perched and he'll jump right down, then run away after targeting him. Keep the one with the bow targeted and draw the one with the halberd to the far side of the room. As soon as you do, run back to the one with the bow and get in a few strikes. Rinse, repeat. Once the black armored one is dead, fight is cake.

well either i'm being stupid but i stopped leveling at 50 and just reached dranglic castle. is there a sweet spot in leveling up so that i get good amount of co-op throughout NG.
