Easily Two Worlds 2. Bought it because of hype, and hated every minute of it. I only played for a few hours, but the graphics on the PS3 gave me a headache, the motion blur was horribly implemented, and all of the "codes" that were supposedly able to be entered to fix my complaints made the situation worse. Awful, awful game (though I've heard the PC version is decent).

You didnt like Oblivion? Why couldnt you get those first few hours?
For some reason, I never got as deep into Skyrim as I did in Oblivion (not to say Skyrim didnt get 98 hours of my time)
First time through I selected a sign that prevented me from recovering magic, I tries to break in somewhere in the imperial city, guards arrested me, still don't know how lockpicking works. Also picked up every item I could find not knowing I could be encumbered Or whatever.
Second time through got to that dungeon right outside the sewers, went it, discovered I had some magic spell the entire time and the game never pointed it out to me, got frustrated with other mechanics never explained such as waiting (or sleeping) and a lack of indication where to go, still can't figure out lock picking.
Years later I come back to it and choose another character from the ground up, somehow (I forget how) I run into another sign related problem, I give up.
Bought skyrim expecting the same thing to happen, nope, they explain everything and don't force you to chose a sign out of the gate, finished the game with about 80 hours of playtime.
Oblivion just sucks at explaining things. I don't mind difficulty, or having to figure out stuff, but I felt like I had to figure everything out and still didn't know a lot, and that frustrated me.
I usually do my research and have a pretty good idea of what I'll like, so I didn't do too terribly bad -- the worst game I bought in Gen 7 was Perfect Dark Zero. It's not horrendous, but it was sure a let down after Perfect Dark and I couldn't bring myself to finish it. Honorable mention goes to Batman: Arkham Origins, which wasn't an awful game, but was totally ruined by bugs, glitches and quality-control issues.

The only thing that got me through it was my hatred for not finishing games. The puzzles were fairly good but everything else was fucking awful.
Still can't believe I spent £35 on it. Shame on me.

Uncharted for me, I don't buy many games but I virtually bought a PS3 for it and hated all 3 of them. I have now accepted I just don't like games like that so don't buy them any more.

Crackdown 2. Bought it because a friend of mine also bought it. We barely played it. Reused the city from the first game and the missions were pretty much killing waves of enemies every time. It wasn't very fun at all.

Not a terrible game, but it was just another visual showcase with bland gameplay, uninspired art direction, a lack of creativity compared to its predecessors especially coming off the heels of GOW2, extremely short, bland story and a letdown ending. Very anti-climatic.

I was extremely disappointed since reviews painted it to be just as good as the previous entries. It's not even close.
Never mind the incredibly forgettable story, the multiplayer is what I was hoping would shine through. Instead I was greeted with subpar map design, killstreaks that have absolutely no place in a Halo game, and customizable loadouts that also feel incredibly foreign.
That's not what killed it for me though. I can forgive all of that, but I'm insulted that reviews didn't mention the constant framerate drop and screen tearing that occurs in multiplayer games. Tried playing splitscreen online and it was just an absolute trainwreck. We couldn't stomach more than five minutes before just switching to Halo: Reach.
It wasn't even the fact that it's splitscreen that caused it to slowdown; it happens when I'm playing solo online too. If there's more than two enemies on-screen at once the game just slows down and drops frames.
How can this game be decorated with so many perfect and high scores? It's unplayable and ultimately made me switch over to PS4 for this generation. Fool me once 343 shame on you, but you won't be fooling me twice.

Not only did i waste my money it's my biggest disappointment of last generation. I have absolutely 0 faith in 343 and have no interest in any more Halo games if they are made by them. I can't support a team that released a button pushing simulator and tried to pass it off as Halo.
Other than that i guess Gears 3. I mean, i got the big statue edition on clearance for under $60 so i can't say it was a complete waste of money because i do dig the statue but the game was hot garbage.
I get the hate for halo 4...i disagree as it was still an excellent game it just didn't hit the notes of the previous games.

I didn't buy anything I outright hated, but Starhawk and RAGE were both extremely generic and forgettable. I strongly regret actually buying both of them.

I don't mind getting burned on a bargain bin deal, so I will exclude those from the equation and unfortunately have to say Final Fantasy XIII. I honestly feel it's a fundamentaly broken game. The battle system is rather engaging but unnecessarily complex and setting, characters, plot and pacing are the worst in the entire series. But most of all, it has killed all my interest in Final Fantasy's future.

Multiplayer was pretty awesome but Campaign ... gosh, how boring, linear and lifeless! Couldn't finish.

Kane and Lynch 2: Although my friend and I new what we were getting ourselves into. Bought it used for $10, beat it in co-op, and then returned it a few days later and used the money for another co-op game.
I honestly actually really liked the grimey, digital handheld aesthetic, but the game was really repetitive and boring, and the plot was basically incomprehensible. At least it was super short.

Socom 4, I bought a ps3 for this game and I regret the game purchase and system purchase. The game was yet another franchise that Sony killed after years of hype. I just don't understand how you can screw up arguably your biggest multiplayer franchise after it defined you in the previous generation.
