How is UFGT a mid-major?
it's more regional status to me, tbh
i basically reserve major for FR and CEO and then EVO is it's own thing
majors have to be like, legitimately huge and gathering folks from around the entire country (and maybe world) rather than the region
the way folks use major now kinda bugs me though i do understand why they use it that way
What a great set!
*looks at thread title*
oh yeah? Romania stronk!! (but not stronk enough for shit-tier SFxT PC netcode)

also, more importantly, some prices from my ISP:
(no landline ISP has data caps since 2006)
- 1 Gbps is ~17 USD/mo
- 500 Mbps is ~15 USD/mo
- 100 Mbps and 50 Mbps are 12 and 9 USD/mo respectively
Shoutouts to EH only putting coverage of Hypespotting up as the event was finishing.
Describe your style of play, and how do you play (local, online, etc.).
i play online only, sadly have no scene here. my style of play is "push buttons". i never study framedata or anything so i play by "feel".
So what exactly is Wolverine doing in his Fatal Claw super that makes the giant "X"?
Whatever it is, it's a physical attack as it can be countered. He is probably slashing so fast that the energy is vibrating around him or some shit.
Does NYC have a Smash scene? If they do, why doesn't NLBC have Smash in the lineup? The FGC seems to be changing its tune with Smash and it seems that the Smash community will go anywhere for a tournament. Also, having Smash helps with more viewers watching the stream.

I think at some level Chun players in US and Japan simply gave up. I remember at one point she was branded by Japanese players as a character with no future. This guy apparently didn't get the memo.HypeSpotting #3 - Ryan Hart (Sagat) vs Valmaster (Chun-Li) - Grand Final
Valmaster is a player form France that was predominantly a SFxT player but now AE is his main game. He beat Xian, Dieminion and a few other players in a recent France Vs the World exhibition. According to Dieminion he is the best Chun he has ever played, even better than the Chuns he played against in Japan.

And yet you'll probably see a Chun train in Ultra, just like you did in A2 and 3S.
There's a thriving smash scene here.I'm interested in hearing more about this. I'd love to find a Project M scene here in NYC.
I got the memo and threw it out. I'm also nobody thoughI think at some level Chun players in US and Japan simply gave up. I remember at one point she was branded by Japanese players as a character with no future. This guy apparently didn't get the memo.

Nice interview Lambda.
I also play by "feel"...
Studying frame data? Ain't nobody got time for that!
I'm pretty sure V-Ryu is.Tbh who just up and study's frame data like that anyways.
I know my framesTbh who just up and study's frame data like that anyways. All you do is end up playing by "feel" anyways.
How is UFGT a mid-major? It has always been a Road To Evo event, it's one of the best-run tournaments out there, not only in tournament management but in side-tourneys and events for actual players to enjoy, and people like Curly actually reach out to other states' scenes to try to get them to go to the event itself, instead of just announcing it on SRK/releasing a hype trailer then calling it a day.
This is an unbelievably arrogant viewpoint.
They are not fun to play. Their mechanics do not lend themselves to my enjoyment. My understanding has nothing to do with it.
Even to watch: They are dull, slow and clunky.
I know my frames
but niceguy AM2 put them on screen.
I mean like other than use them as reference material. I don't one goes into frame data studying it like you would say a school text book or anything.
I can say the American majors I care about are EVO, SCR, CEO and UFGT. When I say care, I mean I'll remember who wins and anticipate them..
I think it's game-dependent, I imagine wayyyy more Soul Calibur players know their frames than Smash players for example.

I think this is because they have (or had) their own sense of identity and the rest just blend into each other, even if they are enjoyable to watch.
Outside of America, Canada cup and shadowloo showdown are the ones I look forward to for similar reasons. Maybe VxG for others...
It's fine to say it isn't fun. But saying something is slow or clunky when you have no experience isn't his arrogance, it's your ignorance.
Is Jon still using that hairstyle? lolOther TOs don't reach out to other scenes? The North Carolina scene begs to differ:
Is Jon still using that hairstyle? lol
I didn't even know that I liked mayonnaise until like a year ago!
I didn't know that I didn't like mayonnaise until 'Undercover Brother' told me so.
Now, I avoid the stuff wherever I go!
Thanks Eddie Griffin!
