I'm not sure I really want to mess around with that stuff, though it is tempting. I may just respec to something completely different like a dex build, upgrade some katanas, and run around dual wielding everything into oblivion.

It is pretty straightforward. I was scared to death it wouldn't work after 80 odd hours but is perfectly fine. Super easy to do once you get on that first rock too. shaved off a good few hours anyway. The only bosses you need to fight are
Dragon Rider and Skeleton lords
the 2 easiest bosses in the game.

Killing the trolls with massive testicles took longer when i removed the patches. They either had more hp or my weapons were weaker. Didn't bother to check.

Is there any reason to unpetrify the statues in the
Shaded Ruins
who aren't blocking anything? (well, one of them is blocking the
scorpion NPC
but can be easily bypassed

Pretty productive 30 minutes there, killed 2 lizards, found a bunch of loot that was inaccessible previously, levelled up twice

Yes. One
drops a key
, and one leads to a chest where you get a
nice armor set for casters + another fragrant branch.

Absolutely.

Run through to harvest valley get a branch. Then head to shrine of winter.
Delete the patches then do this.

ng++ castle run took me about 40 mins using this.

The jumping is way easier then he makes it out to be. can even do it with patches excpet you wont be able to get passes that bit by the waist high rubble.
I couldnt be bothered to fight all 4 bosses again for a third time.

If your soul memory is high enough you don't even need to glitch. The doors will just open. It's 1m for NG, 2m for NG+ and either 3m or 4m for NG++.

False.

I had 7 million soul memory going into NG++
It still refused access. I read that and that was the whole reason i went straight for the shrine. Searched why and then that video popped up so i did that instead.

i agree. Lucatiel Even though i was trying to keep her alive just had to be used as live bait tbh.

I'm just gonna start a new character for Luca and Bernhardt's trophies. Now that i know how the game plays, I can prepare and just go crazy with a STR/FTH build. It seems FTH is pretty powerful judging from the Miracles I've seen being used in coop.

I'm pretty sure you need the 1-2m or however much obtained only from the current run. So if you go into NG+ with 3m soul memory, you'll still need to obtain 2m during NG+ to open the door.

Is there a good Chime that doesn't need an investment in intelligence?

I use the Dragon Chime, it's a beast. Only have 3 Int.

Hmmm, alright. Good to know, I guess I can just bonfire ascetic iron king or the rotten however many times. Those two are really easy to farm for souls.

Wait you can use holy water on the
Smelter demon
to remove his flame buff? And you can destroy statues in the gutter to distract the boss there? i have to try it now. I found that tip on reddit along with other cool bosses tips here

Took about 6 runs with summon help to take down Duke Freja in NG+, but it was totally worth it to get the MLGS on my initial play through with the aestetic. I feel kind of bad for looking up weapon information and souls online before I've even beaten the game once, but it's so cool to have this weapon already

Thank you.

That's amazing about the Holy Water and Smelter Demon. I'll remember that for NG+ for sure.

I was wondering what the heck the stuff was supposed to do. Do we know any other uses of it so far, does it do massive damage to hallowed enemies or something lol? Ala a Phoneix down being used on undead in final fantasy?

Decided to get rid of my Ring of Steel Protection +2 for Life Ring +1. I really noticed it wasn't really doing much damage reduction. Better to just use a Life Ring +1 or anything else I need, esp as that increases my health by 150ish. Currently going to go after Life Ring +2, that will do a great bit in creasing my health by like 250+

From what I learned, Holy Water does physical damage and is actually pretty powerful. You can destroy most enemies with it including bosses. I didn't bother too much because it takes out the fun of combat.

Did 500 damage to the skeletons in ng++

The boss fights in this game are so much better than DS1. I just beat that spider guy and I was on edge the entire time. I summoned an NPC and a sunbro for help. They both died and I was in a room full of spiders and a giant fuck-off queen by myself. I get it down to one hit then take a massive hit that leaves me with a few HP. I manage to run in and slash away it's last bit of health just before it goes to kill me. I actually yelled out because I was so happy. Haven't had that type of experience with this game in a while. My gf was watching for once and was actually kinda freaked out by the stress. GG.

Want want to look at the other images in that set. Not sure if it really does work or not.

April fools day ya all!

I totally didn't get fooled myself because i didn't check the rest of the images and most of the other tips are legit i'm so gullible :(

That fight gave me anxiety because of all of the spiders lol.

Same with the Sentinels for me...managed to survive getting knocked off the initial platform after one boss was taken out and about halfway through another. The Pilgrim bought it on the ledge and the player bit it during the fall, so I took on both sentinels on the ground solo.

Thankfully the one at half health tossed his shield and went aggressive so I just let him come at me, and once that was done taking one was easy, but god damned if the fight didn't take a turn for the worse there for a minute.

You might want to look at the rest of the images. That shit doesn't work.

tried using a buckler or parrying dagger?

Yeah but that feels a bit like cheating. In DS1 I was parrying like i was getting paid for it. In DS2 i think i can nail maybe 2 out of every 7 or 8 parries. Probably 1 out of 10 in pvp. I just suck at it.

Definitely a lot harder in DS2. I don't even bother. In fact, I rarely parried. I did it a lot in DS1.

Run for it. That is what I do. Just run like the wind to the 2nd bonfire. Makes things much easier.

I hated that level so much..

Imagine if there was no 2nd bonfire...

There's a second bonfire in Black gulch?!

Didn't even know there was a second bonfire there. That area is kind of annoying with all the statues but the boss is really easy.

Yeah. Its entrance is next to the chasm, on the wall that ends the area before the detour towards the boss' cave. That wall doesn't really touch the chasm, there is a small walkway that leads to a second bonfire.

Finally got enough Twinkling titanite to upgrade my Manslayer to +5! My dual wielding katana build is nearly complete, I just need the Royal Soldier's Ring +2 and a fair few Titanite Chunks to finish upgrading my armour.

I had my doubts about katanas when I tried them earlier, but dual wielding them is turning out to be a lot of fun!

Game changer. Now I can do some summons there with my second character.

You have to kill the last boss woth hos help too. Just doing the 2 before thay isn't enough

Since there's two bosses that can be in that room, it can be kind of weird. But like Footos said, you have to beat the last boss with him, because the last boss is essentially considered the primary boss of that area. You don't even have to do the boss fight before that with him, you could have just done the final boss and it would count. It's also the same for using a bonfire ascetic. You can only use it for the corresponding bonfire once you beat the last boss.

Thanks guys, I will try that. The little mini guide I was reading on a trophy site said only the battle before that counts. I really hope that works, I was hoping to use Benharts sword a bit when I go back to sorcery.
