Fighting Games Weekly | March 30 - April 6 | High Speed Korean Downloads

That's a lot of work put into a joke. Which makes it ironic.

According to MikeZ it took less than a week from start to finish.

This April Fool's gag was posted in the Skullgirls thread, but I thought the actual design changes were pretty cool and thought some folks here might appreciate it:

Plus, I love the old-fashioned dialogue Brain Drain has going. Goddamn I want him in the game!

HNNGGGH. The greatest thing about this is that she's actually playable. They've already confirmed that she's going to be a permanent member of the roster now. Need to boot up beta and try her out.

And that comment about walking burning fat is almost complete nonsense. I'll explain why when I'm not on mobile

Couldn't you have waited to give your opinion with some back up before calling it nonsense?
I'm on mobile as well, but my explanation as to why walking burns fat is valid. I'm not going to have the opportunity to respond later today, so I'll just leave this:

Your body enters an area where it shifts from burning fat to storing it. The best way to lose fat is to briefly enter that area then back off. This is what HITT/crossfit training does, as well as interval running.

Strictly running long distances will keep you in the endurance zone, slowing your metabolism. The reason why most runners are skinny is because they run far enough to compensate. But they also burn off muscle.

Walking the same distance as a runner would run will burn more fat by not entering that zone, or being on the borderline.

Anyway, fitness trends are always changing and new studies are being developed. So you can say what you want to say, but what I've said is common knowledge and has worked for me for the past 15 years, and its not like people can't do a little research on their own. It's only a few clicks away.

TLDR: Internet is full of fitness resources. Everyone should just look it up themselves

They aren't many dedicated fliers in Capcom's universe. Technically Trish isn't a flier either... I mean she is as much of a flier as Dante is but they made her a complete flier and Dante less of one.

Jedah would be a flier as would Q Bee. Nina from BoH. Maybe if they wanted more DMC characters they could add in Mundus as a Dorm style character. Maybe Alastor from Viewtiful Joe.

But beyond that I have trouble coming up with many fliers. Maybe that random ass guy from Dark Void... LOL!

Everyone in the FGW thread should have Enzo's avy.

Been thinking of theming Iron Man to RX-78 colours to christen my submission to anime.

Yeezus saves.

So through some technical magic, I'll be installing my PS2 and a dreamcast in a blast city and new net city cabinet. I've taken a look at the video output on a small 19" arcade monitor and it's glorious. RGB is amazing.

So my question is, other than Tekken, is there any PS1/PS2 fighters that were not done better or at all on other systems? No need to mention any anthologies or KOF. I think I have VF4E and NG Battle Coliseum already somewhere.

Permanent? That is kind of odd. Are there any ways to distinguish her from Filia aside from her name on the screen before the match starts? This will get mighty confusing during matches if I can't always recall who I am facing.

I think your best bet would be original games like Tobal No.1 and Bushido Blade, since the arcade release of most PS1 and 2 fighting games are better, including games you mentioned like VF4Evo.

Ehrgeiz obviously.

Is it modded for import games? If so Tobal 2.

I did say almost nonsense. The whole "fat-burning zone" thing is a myth or largely misinterpreted:

http://www.builtlean.com/2013/04/01/fat-burning-zone-myth/

Yeah, you may burn more fat calories relative to glycogen stores running - but running burns more calories overall, including fat calories, by keeping the heart rate and metabolism up after the fact.

Distance runners feed largely off glycogen stores and are skinny because they don't incorporate adequate weight lifting routines/burn what little muscle they may have - which is fine for their goals. Not because their "metabolism slows down". That's nonsense. They lose muscle precisely because it doesn't. The activity simply draws from (metabolizes) glucose stores more than fat - which is why distance runners often carb load.

This is precisely why runners often lose muscle - their bodies metabolize beyond their glycogen/fat stores and start to feed off proteins - in this case, muscle - since proteins in the form of pure amino acid compounds are not stored by the body.

When you do any physical work, catabolic reactions increase in proportion to the activity, likewise accelerating the heart rate and generating proportionate heat in the body. This is why you generally perspire more when jogging as opposed to walking (or perspire more when walking in the sun as opposed to simply walking at night - the former would burn more overall calories because the sun's ray are impressing on the body, generating more reactions and generating more heat. This does not imply there is a 1:1 correlation between perspiration and effective weight loss routines, however).

If walking was all it took to burn fat efficiently, you wouldn't see heavy people in, say, the service industry (waiters/waitresses) because they literally walk at accelerated paces for hours on end.

Interval running and HIIT is effective because they deplete ATP stores almost immediately, allowing your body to metabolize calories from fat/carbohydrates for energy more efficiently. By keeping the heart rate up (intensity high), you keep your ATP stores low enough for your body to seek energy from energy stores more directly related to your physique (carbohydrates and fat). Just like a distance runner, were you to extend this activity beyond a certain point, you would lose muscle just well. But the duration of these routines do not lead to those extremes.

That said, fitness is all relative and adequate nutrition >>>>>>>>>>> everything posted here (which is also relative). If you're looking to maintain your current physique via walking - that's totally an effective strategy for the average person. But if you're looking to actually change your body, don't expect walking to do much for you without severely restricting your caloric intake.

For fliers in a Capcom VS game, they could upgrade Dhalsim from his MVC2 self, and just adjust his movement and movelist as necessary to make it more flashy, better/weirder animations for his limb. Maybe he could could get a level 3 like Netero's nen power, ah yea.

I mean, SF characters got air dashes and all that in TVC, and Chun is dash all over the place, they could get crazy with what SF powers can do. Make Bison and his floating and teleporting more crazy

They could fool around with QBee, Jedah, anakaris, Huitzil with how they move to make them fit to what they want.

They could get Lavia in there and spec her out, or do something crazy with Jin, where he has to wear/pilot a smaller Blodia. Or he is in injured, and only his brain in smaller mech suit to survive., who cares, it's a fighting game, haha.

Or get some Basara or Plasma Sword characters in there doing some dumb stuff with movement.

Bison with an 8-way air dash would be godlike. And I do not use that term often.

Aren't there jetpacks or something in Lost Planet? That could be an 8-way air dash character, too. Someone from that series (never played it beyond the demo).

Her color palette, intro animation and fighting stance are entirely different from Fillia so it shouldn't be much of an issue

Eh. It needs to be something permanent with her palette, even. Otherwise there are still different mix-ups to get confused about.

No one likes lost planet.
Hey, it had 3 games! Plus mech-suits are cool.

Ughhhh, yes. I'm not usually a rosterbator, but I was so disappointed Bison wasn't in Marvel 3. He would have been so much fun.
He has a lot of potential. Teleport, fireball (MvC2), psycho crusher, and weird aerial movements.

Then again, Capcom would probably make him a charge character.
