ONLY THE GREATEST SHOW EVER.

Dammit I don't post for one day and there's like 8 more pages.

How am I suppose to have a battle way with Panda and Beef if I don't even know where are their rebuttals!!!!!!

I couldn't even make it passed the first episode of The Wire. I left it on in the background for the whole first season hoping something would grab me and force me to go back and rematch from the beginning - but it just wasn't happening. Anytime I tried paying attention I literally fell asleep.

It's like a novel man. It has to build up. It's not this cookie cutter crap instant gratification like the newest episode of CSI.

It's like beautiful zoning in street fighter to get the other dude to tilt then he jumps in and BAM SHORYUUUUKEN!

Yall ninjas better not be april fooling me...

LMAO @ Capcom canceling their MM April Fool's day jokes.

I swear you couldn't have scripted this better.

Wire is godlike. I feel sorry for the people who have not experienced its greatness. I can see some people getting bored of it... at times it's so real that you think "if I wanted to watch that why don't I just go down to the projects myself?"

Permanent? That is kind of odd. Are there any ways to distinguish her from Filia aside from her name on the screen before the match starts? This will get mighty confusing during matches if I can't always recall who I am facing.
She has a different idle stance, recycled from Filia's :america: win pose.

I think the Smedwicks jokes have gotten stale. Their time has passed, and now the jokes are largely in poor taste.

When has taste ever been a factor in running jokes on this site - or anywhere, for that matter?

Is it modded for import games? If so Tobal 2.

Seconded. Maybe Garouden Breakblow, if you're into that sort of thing. Outside of that, every other suggestion I would make has been covered.

Bison with an 8-way air dash would be godlike. And I do not use that term often.

Aren't there jetpacks or something in Lost Planet? That could be an 8-way air dash character, too. Someone from that series (never played it beyond the demo).

There are grappling hooks attached to belts, and jetpacks on Vital Suits, but I think humans w/ jetpacks didn't become a thing until LP2. And apparently, the less said about LP2, the better.

No one likes lost planet.

There are people who like it enough to either completely ignore the last 1/8 of the game, or pretend that it wasn't a great big sloppy mess. That goes well beyond "like", straight into devotion!

what joke was that?

You have to force yourself to get through a few eps. Once it hooks you, it hooks you, but it's definitely rough until it does so.

Definitely not trash-talking the show. From what people have described - it definitely seems like something I should like. I plan to try again at some point in the future.

I just need an adequate stretch of free time and lack of motivation to mingle with the outside world to reboot.

You can't just watch the first episode of The Wire and expect to understand it.

The first episode is an introduction to the complex network of characters. You don't get to know them, hell I'll be surprised if you even remember more than one name by the end of the episode. If you don't pay attention for the rest of the season and leave it on in the background.. well yeah you will have no idea what's going on or the significance of anything considering you have no grasp of who the characters are or who's talking. There are way too many characters for you to just let it float by or else people like Lester would pop up out of nowhere.

I like Lost Planet and Lost Planet 2. Come at me Enzo.
My condolences.

Yea it's a slow burner type show and with a shit ton of characters.

Best way I can describe The Wire is that it's like Game of Throne but it happens in the real world and in a much more focused area (almost exclusively in Baltimore). Almost everyone is a grey type character, there are a shit ton of characters (and subplots) and you rarely get what you want with the show. But when you stick through the lull periods the pay off is great.

I can post some epic scenes/gifs but it would spoil some stuff.

I totally get this. That's why I didn't level any value judgements against the show. Like I said I'm hoping to try again in the future

Yeah I tried watching The Wire after watching The Sopranos so it was hard to watch another so so similar but also not as dynamic as The Sopranos.

They showed a fake model kit for X that looked pretty cool.

Some people raged.

They took it down.

Now people are raging (or laughing) at the takedown.

Basically MegaMan is now radioactive for Capcom, haha.
SMFH, just saw this. Megaman fans truly are the worst. This will never end, there really is no fanbase with a higher sodium chloride concentration.

Didn't they just removed it because it's no longer April 1st in Japan, though?

Bison would be sweet dashing all around. Really tall, evil cape flapping around while he is doing his evil thing.

Watching the Northeastern Smash Attack 2 video linked on that Melee It On Me page and holy shit, KDJ getting smothered in some Gravy.

At the same time, that match was kinda painful to watch after getting bopped out of the GAF Project M tournament after playing that exact match up. The knee is hype as fuck until you're on the receiving end of one after building momentum on your last stock.

I didn't notice any rage about the joke cancellation outside of a junior. Maybe folks should check the thread? There's mostly laughter about how perfect the whole situation is.

Also, the Megaman X statue was intended to troll fans, just like Megaman in UMvC3's Days of Future Past stage. To call that "reaching out" is some serious bullshit.

Megaman fans have had what...3 canceled games this last generation? What fan base would not be angry by that? Plus the numerous Megaman trolls re: SFxT and UMvC3. Give me a break. These folks aren't irrational. The frustration is well-grounded in reality, and Capcom loves to stroke the fire.

Megaman's stage in UMvC3 was not meant to troll fans at all, neither was MM in SFxTK. And therein lies the problem with everything Megaman-related coming out of Capcom, everything is guilty of trolling before being judged as just another homage or wink to fans through the lens of Megaman fans. That's why it's always irrational. In any other circumstance it wouldn't be cock teasing or slapping fans in the face, but because it's Megaman, it is. Enough so that any time Capcom puts out a new Megaman product or does something with the brand, people harp on them for not putting out Megaman products or doing anything with the brand. It truly is hypocrisy at it's finest. The idea of a break or hiatus from the brand simply does not exist, cancelled projects or not.

Capcom has almost certainly known for years that OG Mega Man was going to be in Smash 4 and didn't want to step on it by putting him in one of the other fighters. The SFxT was definitely somewhat trolling, but at least it was legitimately funny in its own right.

If Capcom trolled with a concept art of Vergil in DMC5 on April Fools day I would go final form Dahbomb on their asses. The pop off would've been ridiculous, probably get myself banned over it.

I think he was talking about the MM poster in the Days of Future Past stage as well as the MM Zero alt plus the MM Frank West alt.

I don't see how this is anything other than a troll. The SFxT thing was like next level troll... like Kojima at it's finest. Normal trolls don't take effort... like putting MM in a poster of a stage but that SFxT thing was them putting EFFORT into an elaborate troll. I have no idea how they thought they wouldn't get shit for it.

It's like putting in Dante in MVC3 after so long only it was some random concept art of ugly ass suspender pants Dante like this:

This would've enraged fans and rightfully so.

Capcom has made MM fanbase trolling into an art form. I am not a big MM fan at all but I know a troll when I see it.

How the fuck could anyone seriously think that SFxT Megaman was not a troll? I want a real explanation on that one, because I think you are loony. He's an old fat man with a dim-witted voice and an impotent buster shot. Who is that aiming to please? What is that "fan service" aimed at?

I don't recall aside from "lol 8bit graphics" posters harping on Capcom for making Megaman 9. There was serious rejoicing as I recall.

Do you not know why that character was in the game? It's literally a homage to the box art of the original Megaman game. The character was conceived by Inafune himself, who right now is pushing Mighty No. 9, who wanted a unique representation of Megaman in the game as opposed to just another X/Classic or whatever. It was very explicit in that regard, and it's pretty obvious who it's targeting, the self-proclaimed hardcore Megaman fans.

The presumption that a corporation would explicitly kick one of it's strongest brands and it's fanbase while it's down and effectively attack consumers, amidst acknowledging they are not done with it and are in the process of regrouping, is idiotic. You straight up have to be a hater to believe that there is malice in intent instead of the more logical idea that they're sprinkling references everywhere as a commitment to delusional fans that a brand is not dead because there have been high profile cancellations. Or in some cases, prototypes that leaked out when they shouldn't have, which fans chalk up as cancellations as well. Anger is the result of not being able to comprehend why the things the way they are and willingly choosing to ignore everything they do for the brand in favour of what fell through; as well as willingly tossing repeated efforts to keep the brand alive out the window. Let's not think about Capcom prototyping multiple games from the brand and let's think about none of them ending up in the stores instead (even though some did get released, but let's be ignorant of that too).

I know we're in a "what have you done for me lately" type of industry, but the reactions are often nonsensical and come from a place of selective ignorance.

Dino Crisis reboot starring Dino Vergil as the villain would have been an excellent troll (if they weren't apparently going to be attempting a real reboot.)

Any time I'm at a job and a manager starts focusing on ridiculous stats that don't matter and prevent us from doing the job correctly, I feel like forcing them to watch The Wire. You get the most work done when the managers do nothing. I'd actually prefer for them to sit on facebook all day than keep making up additional stuff that makes your job harder and achieves nothing except giving them stuff to brag about as they take credit for your work and move their way up.
