not locked. it hovers around 53 to 60FPS most of the time unless there are a lot of things going on... then it dips to 45 to 50FPS. I did not mean that the GPU is 3 years old either, i meant that i changed my GPU once in the last 3 years from a GT440.

That's a very different situation than you described before. Why not change settings or lock to 30? Ultra doesn't add that much.

You are looking too much into it.

TOD multiplier was artificially increased just to showcase entire TOD in a short amount of time, but by enabling NPCs to be clearly visible and not just total blurs. So, they filmed 15 minutes of footage, but they cycled trough entire day into those 15 minutes. Then they crammed those 15 minutes into 30 secs.

PS4 would melt doing something like the top pic.

Because these are all flaws that people have pointed out in more recent footage to claim some kind of 'downgrade' from the initial reveal trailer (from which this gif is taken), and MaLDo is pointing out that the flaws have always been there.

If it's anything like Far Cry 3 and most games, the "game time" is not even close to real time. There will be a timescale setting that defines how fast time passes. By default in Far Cry 3 the passing of time is hugely accelerated.

It was really impressive footage when I thought it was from the PC version, but now I know it's actually from the PS4 version, the graphics are still pretty shoddy.

IF you're sitting near a large LCD monitor then these issues become infinitely more noticeable due to close proximity and the sub-pixel make up of the panel. Really, though, I find it highly ironic to see people talking about image quality only to realize they're using an LCD for gaming. I'll never understand it.

I could very well imagine that the footage is in fact the PC version, but they aren't allowed to show anything else than Ps4 footage(Sony has a marketing deal with Ubisoft for Watchdogs), so they have to say its the Ps4 version.

Probably sped-up for demo purposes. I'd expect the final game's day/night cycle to be similar to the ones in the AC games (which are about half an hour for a full 24h cycle, roughly, I think?).

I watched the video yesterday, but I didn't read the thread. so I missed the roller coaster. All I can say is that when I watched it I thought it looked alright but it didn't seem any better than any of the other WD footage recently -- well outside of that terrible car GIF. The E3 2012 footage is obviously the outlier, but honestly nothing else has seemed all that different to me.

Its not going to look worse but really one of the main upgrades to pc versions versus ps3/360 was the textures. Due to the ram limitation the textures were always super downgraded compared to pc. However with the new consoles this is not the case so while the pc versions will look and run better they are not going to look completely different.

How much does stealth play a role in the game from what you've seen? Can I play a completely-combat free role or are there instances where you have to engage and fight/kill?

Also, original reports suggested that there made no difference narratively if you killed people or not unlike something like Infamous or Dishonoured. Do you know if that's changed?

It can be, that during the storyline you will be forced to kill people. But as far as I could see and play, you have always the possibility to sneak and neutralize enemys indirectly through hacking... it´s really cool, because there are always many things you can activate or interact with via smartphone.

I played a side-misson (gang hideout) where I really could neutralize every gang member without getting in the building personally, which was really cool. Only with hacking cameras, moving virtually through cam to cam and activating explosions or other kind of things.

So yes, I can imagine you can play almost (!) without killing someone if you want to, except some story-missions of course, since Aiden is really up to take revenge...
