yes the downgrade is real

Two different places with different conditions.

Edit: What an unwarranted bump.

Oh come on!
These two things are in no way comparable.
The game is at least looking as good as the footage that gif is from.

not even close. not a single video since the delay look anywhere close to that gif. they all look flat.
look at the debris, the wind, smoke, shadows, light reflections, volumetric lighting, atmosphere, rich and real looking NPC texture.

come on, take those shades off and look. look at it!

Another completely different scene that looks completey different than others!

look at the NPC models they look so downgrade for starters.
#2 light doesn't reflect or bounce off their cloths or model.

here's a comparable ss.

if you pay extra attention you'd notice that you're wrong on both counts as far as what can be discerned through that image

look at the first image ; characters near light sources are lit appropriately

the second image isn't the same exact type of environment anyway because all three NPCs seem to be close to a large and bright light source and not just the ones standing next to illuminated signs on an otherwise dark night like in the first

Its so obvious, its not even funny anymore.
Here we go again, same time of day, same weather.
One looks flat and lifeless and the other looks like real-life.

inB4 Ubisoft's apologetics object.

From a complete package standpoint what looks as good as 1886 that has pre-release footage?

For all we know 1886 will get a downgrade, but it being a sony publish game I doubt it.

We haven't seen any substantial gameplay footage of Order yet. It would be quite early to judge it. But it looks impressive nonetheless.

Which begs the question:

Has any legit next-gen game (that wasn't crippled by cross-gen compatibility) seen any kind of downgrade between reveal and release? Should be easy to answer, I think the legit next-gen games can be counted on one hand. Look at Infamous.. it actually looked better at release than early footage.

I don't see any reason why The Order wouldn't look just as good as it does now. Unlike WD, it wasn't made as a PS360 game.

Puddles and wet surfaces reflecting light is the biggest difference between the two. One has them the other doesn't.
We don't know if they're gone completely or that video just doesn't have them.

Actually that's the least of the differences on the high bitrate playback of these vids. Just the ones that stick out in tiny gifs

So when people thought this was PC footage it was all OMGZ and now its back to oh its PS4 downgrade? interesting ..... on topic it looks better than I thought it would but it is no where near the 2012 reveal I also doubt the pc version will reach that image fidelity. Hope I am wrong but I doubt it.

What's funny is that they've said they have already surpassed the E3 trailer. Of course it's not all that noticeable, but it's probably some few details.

Can someone can create a thread about this: www.digitalshadow.com

Inspired by Watch Dogs' focus on hacking and living in a "connected world," the website links to your Facebook account and generates a slew of information based on what it can find. Things like "what makes you tick" and contacts that can be "mined" for further information about you are on full display. It knows when you're most vulnerable, where you've been, and who you care about. It's both amazing and terrifying how much data can be mined based solely on your Facebook. Granted, not all of the information is 100% accurate, but it's a pretty good eye opener. And a fun tie-in to the highly anticipated game.

PS: Doesn't seem to work in all countries :-(

didn't ryse get downgrade? lower character poly( http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Crytek-Downgrades-Ryse-Graphics-Xbox-One-59460.html ) and res than reveal I believe. many said the res in the reveal video was 1080p but the game came out at 900p.

Personally, I'd prefer a 720p version that had less or no lighting downgrade, compared to a 1080p version with relatively 'flat' lighting.
I guess they've painted themselves into a corner though, since switching to 720p would start another wave of complaints.

Even so, my main concern is that the gameplay be more than just "Assassin's Creed V: First World Problems".
