Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 6: Final Destination confirmed for not fun

Choice Band could TOTALLY work man!
:P
Lol it actually could now that you mention it. You're stuck with the next A move you use until it gets knocked off or you press B to drop it. The move does double damage/knockback though. Same for specs except with A and B reversed.

It'd be pretty silly and unintuitive though. Definitely not a good fit for a Smash item.

*picks up Choice Band with Jigglypuff*
*spam Bair*

no problem :P

It would have to be a risk/reward thing. Maybe it disables your B moves while increasing the strength of your A moves by 50%, but once you grab it, tough luck. Hope you don't need to recover. That said, it would be too good on characters that almost exclusively use their A moves, like marth.

Pic of the day. The Gust Bellows can blow opponents away with its powerful wind blasts. When someone drops it, though, the gusts run wild! Out of the new items, more than a few will be from The Legend of Zelda series. We'll take the most interesting and straightforward ones and reformulate them to match the Smash Bros. world.

sounds lovely. These items yo...

The Choice items would be interesting.

Anyways, if there is a Smash 4 trailer at E3, what do people expect in the trailer? All I'm expecting is 3 newcomers. I wonder if they would show any new veterans, some 3DS gameplay, or some new stages.

I would predict that we could get Ridley, Mii and Pac Man. It's subjected to be change depend on who we are getting for April Direct.

I think smash will close the show, gotta have the best game for wii u be the thing to close the show

at the end have the release date shown or Sakurai come on stage and say the release date

then a bonus movie plays with Mii introduced and its reggie vs iwata vs miyamoto vs sakurai

boom

What do you mean "if"? Why on Earth wouldn't there be a Smash trailer at E3?

Nah, Smash will probably be early or mid in the show, Zelda U will close the show for sure.

So people don't respond to my question with "What if there is no Smash 4 trailer?" posts.

I don't doubt that there would be a Smash 4 trailer, but I gotta stop those kind of smartasses before they post lol.

I liked that item from Skyward Sword.

Clawshots next plz?

I also think we'll see 3 newcomers, maybe 3 veterans too. Do you think each newcomer will get their own trailer (like every character so far), or do you think all 3 will be introduced in the same one?

I could imagine some Fire emblem Army fighting a 'Famicom Wars' Army, revealing 2 newcomers that way. It'd be a fun way to reveal 2 characters at once.

Well in that case I think Pac-Man and Mii will be revealed along side some new stages and some veterans and then maybe one other newcomer.

6 characters total?
That seems like a lot.

Zelda items that might be cool:

Four Sword (came to mind first. Actually the cherry from 3D world might do this better)
Magic Rod/Fire Rod/Ice Rod
Tornado Rod
Hammer (megaton or skull would be cool)
Quake/Ether/Bombos medallions
Probably some Mask from Majoras... transformations would be too much though.
Ball and Chain

Probably not. SS is a middle/upper middle tier Zelda, so if your favorite is one of the best ones, the statement is probably false.

Is that so?

is it weird I'd rather experience the CD-I games for the first time than play through SS again?

If Im reading this update right does that mean all or a majority of items will be based on nintendo lore like the screw attack and mushrooms?

If so, awesome. Every representative should have at least 1 or 2 items from their world to really get that whole "nintendo bros" point.

Althouhg for a second I though toon link was going to get a proper moveset :(

They revealed 12 in the first trailer! Half of that isn't stretching it, especially if the 3 veterans are people like yoshi, captain falcon, and ness, which are all pretty much shoe-ins for the game.

Another thing crossed my mind: I was hoping this would finally be the smash brothers to do balance updates and patches, but then it occurs to me that patching on the 3DS isn't the easiest thing in the world. Very few games have received patches to fix bugs, because the process isn't easy or automatic. Now I'm worried that we won't really get any updates unless they are game-breaking or system-level exploits, which I hope isn't the case. I really hope the 3DS version doesn't gimp the Wii U version in any way. I assume they'll want balance/update parity between the two, so if it's hard to update the 3DS, the Wii U just won't get updates.

Anyone know of a 3DS game that gets constant updates/patches without having to download the patch from the eshop? Does the new steel diver do that? Is it something that's possible to do easily and automatically?

If anything, Smash will open the show. They aren't going to save a game everyone knows is coming (in a few months(?)) for the closer.
