Nintendo Downloads - April 2014

I too am curious about Batman. I didn't know it was coming out on Wii U, and I've got a bunch of money on my account right now...is that game supposed to be any good?

Also curious about Batman. But honestly, with that price and my backlog, I can wait. Hopefully it'll be on sale in the near future.

Just hit me, you think we might see WarioWare Twisted get a re-release, considering the GamePad is capable of motion controls?

Unfortunately almost certainly not. If there's one thing that's annoyed me above all else, it's that Nintendo absolutely refuses to put in the extra effort to get any accessory stuff running. Even though the Wiimote seemed perfect for it and IIRC Yoshi's Safari was in the first VC leak waaaaaaaaaaay back when, we never could get light gun games. And then the GBA can't even give us Super Gameboy/GBA enhancements or link cable stuff. And on the related note I don't think I'll ever, ever get a chance to play Kirby Tilt 'n Tumble unless I put in the effort to track down a physical copy.

You say that, but look at Pokémon Snap...

You say that, but look at Pokémon Snap...

I suppose that's something, yeah. I'm guessing it was different because it's just the game outputting something rather than having to actually get something new to interface with the game code? I dunno. But yeah, it's a shame they haven't gone the "extra mile" to get basic features like link cable multiplayer running.

Next week on Japan eShop

Of a $40 handheld game. Castlevania LoS Mirror of Fate HD was a $40 3DS game, but was $15 when it came out on digital download services for consoles/pc

To be fair, I felt the original version of Batman should have been a $20 downloadable to begin with. I think it would have sold better and fared better among critics. Mirror of Fate, though, I think was fairly justified as a retail product.

Either way, I can respect where you're coming from. These are games that obviously didn't do that great on their maiden voyages, and this is their way of getting some extra mileage out of them. Still, $20 doesn't seem that unreasonable in this case, especially since they seem to have spruced it up a bit. But whatever the market care bear, and all that...

I'd have agreed with you but there one change now. M2 does the GBA emulation. Then again the options we see in these are a bit on the light side when compared with what M2 usually does.

As for Pokemon Snap. That was I think, NST rather than EAD (who handle the other Nintendo systems).

Was it ever confirmed that Super Monkey Ball 3D was hitting the eShop? Because I just noticed a page for it is now up.
It is coming to Europe today. Can't say the price excites me a lot but its better than what Nintendo does *glares at £40 steel diver*.

New Miiverse communities for the 3DS :

Nintendo : erm... what's a Metroid? :p
They really took their time with the Mario Tennis Community - finished the game weeks ago :-/

Whatever they decide, they better decide quick.

That's a strange way of doing the promotion, but at least it's something, I guess. If you don't own any of the games, it's still the same as the European promotion.

Oh hey, Rusty's Real Deal Baseball is out already? Thought it was gonna be out closer to the end of the month. Might as well see how cheap you can haggle.

Edit: There we go, resetting the system got the eShop to load. 615 blocks for the game/77 MB.

I was going to point out that the Mega Drive's Puyo Puyo had online multiplayer added to it for the Virtual Console release, but then I remembered that'd be Sega's doing.

Still, it shows it's possible (along with the Pokémon Snap example) to muck around with Virtual Console games.

Seems starting the virtual hype for NES Remix 2 as they now have "As Seen in NES Remix 2" stickers on games like Metroid and Super Mario Bros 2

Rusty's Real Deal is out. It lets you demo 6 really short minigames and then you gotta buy something. Guess I was too hopeful of letting you get maybe one or two actual games on it for free. You can haggle, but still.

Wow, M2 is doing GBA emulation, nice. Anyone know if there's a reliable list of other VC games they've worked on? I might bite on Advance Wars, only because I never owned a copy. Borrowed and played it heavily back in the day though. Also very cool the GBA games come with scans of the actual paper manuals:

Neogeo station, game gear vc 3ds, sega 3d classics, some sega ages 2500

All the cool stuff, they know their shit ;)

Take it from the horses mouth, in English (1, 2) but to keep it simple. Some Wii VC arcade, all Wii VC Mega Drive and Master System, 3DS VC Game Gear and SEGA 3D Classics series.

The GBA games appeared in their news section.
Edit: Beaten but I looked up URLs, I regret nothing.

^^^^

Cool, thanks to tsab and Starwolf_UK
for the M2 info. I wish Nintendo would hire them to do everything on VC, then we'd have manual scans and extra options for all games and surely N64 by now.
