It's strange how people toss around 18 all the time as if it's some set-in-stone magic number, when for much of the world - and even much of the US - that's not the relevant age for that.

Of course, much of it is much more nuanced (depending on one's relation to the person, depending on what one does, depending on what is being done, etc.), so it's a good idea to read into the laws of one's state/country first, but, it's not like some sort of magic on/off switch that universally flips at 18 or something.

I only dated my age to be safe in HS and in college, but post college dating has involved more of a bigger pool. There hasn't been close calls yet, but I always found it weird that 17-18 was a hard cap for dating and sex when some people are more immature than others.

What's so creepy about it? Franco is handsome, she is beautiful. Attractive people want to have sex with each other & someone older is attracted to someone younger and someone younger is attracted to some older (celebrity) person. SHOCKER.

The way I see it, there's nothing creepy about age differences. It does get a bit creepy when you go under 18 (if that's legal where you are), since 16 year olds can be somewhat emotionally immature and still look like children. The only time I'd say it's DEFINITELY creepy is when someone older is looking for ~17-19 year olds who look much younger. It's like.. those kinds of people are basically paedophiles, but wise enough paedophiles not to touch underage people. If the lure is to have sex with someone who looks (under) 16 but you just cover your bases by demanding they are over 18, then at that point it gets creepy.

But yeah, if someone is 18 and especially if they look somewhat older & seem more mature than 18 year old (like a lot of young people can, they aren't all childish pricks or brainless bimbos), then I see no harm in this kind of behaviour. Some people like to have sex and have a lot of it. That's okay too, if they can find willing partners.

You might as well put me in there in some sense though because, lets say the girl was 15 years old, which would be underage in the UK, that doesn't suddenly mean you can't find her attractive. Whether you actually act on that is another thing though, something I wouldn't do, but attraction isn't really based on age of consent, it is based on how developed a person is. And there are girls who are well developed even at 15.
