Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 6: Final Destination confirmed for not fun

I don't know much about Fire Emblem, but Anna intrigues me now more than the Chrom's and Lucina's being tossed around now that you guys are bringing it out. She's apparently a heavily recurring character since the start, looks battle ready, and has an intriguing approach to a possible moveset. Anna would actually be a perfect representative now that I think about it. Just basing on aesthetics alone, she's counterintuitive to the typical Fire Emblem hero (mostly blue-haired clad in blue male). I'm gonna root for her now too.
meh I think FE just started off on the wrong end with Ike and Roy for Smash. I think characters like Marth, Anna and a character like Robin or Tiki would make 3 good slots since those are one of the few recurring characters in the series. However given how FE is currently represented, I don't think Anna would make sense. Itd be like Nurse Joy being a playable character.

No one gives Tiki enough love :[

Far from my favorite Fire Emblem character but probably one with the most potential to be interesting in Smash.

Days of Ruin Lin is the female Snake.

Anna is Nurse Joy, but with fucking 8-pack abs.

idk I've been rooting on Lin and Tiki for a while, sucks to know that you're in the minority because of obscure character preferences.

It pretty much took Awakening and a better understanding of the Marth era games for me to come to a similar conclusion honestly. At the same time, the current trend with FE in Smash did give us Ike so it can't be all bad.

Now if they would give him a higher base speed and his Ragnell sword wave... *licks lips*

Anna is Nurse Joy, but with rotating teams of regional legendaries and the only one who has interacted with/recognizes every champion ever.

Fixed.

Tiki is cool too, but I guess I latched on to Anna because I love good jack of all trades and Anna could be Smash's MVC3 Dante with the amount of gear she hawks and pedals.

I think that kellam would be pretty cool for smash. Having him use a spear/shield combo would be awesome! And unique!

Michael Cera and Jonah Hill 4 Smash.

No but really Tiki is the Ridley of Japan, though I wouldn't mind Nagi either. She's the daughter of the freaking dragon goddess, Naga, and is a god tier Manakete. She probably has the potential to have the most unique moveset out of the plausible Fire Emblem characters.

She goes from this
to this
Katarina is pretty cool too, she was sent to assassinate Marth after all.

Eirika and Ephraim as an Ice Climbers duo character because Sacred Stones is the best Fire Emblem out of the ones I've played.

It's the only one I've played

I don't think Tiki has much of a chance, but she would be incredibly cool. I think she has to be my number one most wanted FE newcomer, actually, even if I never actually considered her before today...

Chrom will be the FE newcomer and everyone will be disappointed.

Oh man you need to remedy this. It's the worst one I've played. Still a good game, just... the worst of what's available.

I don't remember him in Fire Emblem.

You could not think of a more boring addition than Lucina.

How is a sword/magic user boring? There are obviously more interesting characters but that does make the avatar intrinsically boring. Besides, a creative enough mind can make just about anything compelling. The avatar is also the dueteragonist (second only to the protagonist) of the latest FE, so it isn't out of the question.

Tiki would make a perfect Assist Trophy. She could show up, turn into a dragon, then blast some fire around.

Basically, we need way more FE assist trophies. For a series that has so many great characters that understandably couldn't cut it as a fully playable character in smash, it really should get more recognition in the way of items and assist trophies.

Because we already have two blue haired sword users, a red haired sword user, and a blonde sword user. We don't need a third blue haired sword user. The Nintendo catalogue is more aesthetically diverse than that, and aesthetics are important. This is like wanting Pitoo or Waluigi in the game.

I think you are confusing Lucina with Robin (the avatar)

Anyone hear use that battery pack that extends the gamepads battery life? Is it good? Using off tv now since wife is watching tv and battery goes so fast.

Default avatar is white haired and he uses magic too, so already more diverse, but I get you.

My post flat out said "Lucina". No confusion on my end.

Robin is a horrible choice because there are too many aesthetic options. My Robin is a middle aged redhead male with a shaved head. A little boy or girl with white or blue hair is a random character for me and most other FE players. It is just not a good option.

idk man I think Michael Cera and Jonah Hill would be amazing additions to smash, even as voice actors.

Kirby friends as stage hazards and assist trophies please.

Using the default look is fine, since it was used advertising, or as someone said days and days ago, pop his hood up and you are good to go. Bypassing an interesting character with potentially new and compelling mechanics just because he is an avatar is kind of silly. Villager comes to mind.

My post flat-out said " The avatar " ;P
Okay, but when someone obviously misreads a post, why would you respond to it like that? It is like you didn't read what I wrote and continued to talk on... Baffling, really. I hate this hashtag bullshit people type in posts. This isn't fucking Twitter.

I was looking at your chibi avatar, which looks Lucina-ish. I guess that just speaks to how similar they all look.

Well... Villager. I could imagine there being both genders with different hair colors as alts. I fully expect Chrom though.

Ah, my bad: I actually didn't notice that you edited your post and was too quick to type a rebuttal when I noticed you thought I meant Lucina.

The hashtag in posts has become a bit of a meta-meme IMO, and I as well as others find it amusing whether you do or not. So what's your point?

I didn't even finish it cos I got bored.

It felt like an action game set up how it has a level and you get from point A to B and kill the boss... but as a strategy game. So 90% of the game is just slowly moving every character towards the goal.

I guess I'd just rather a strategy game have stuff like defending locations while trying to kill the enemy leader and stuff, so I have to plan who goes where etc.

Are the other Fire Emblems set up differently?

Correction.

But yeah, Tiki would be great to have as either an assist trophy or playable character. I wouldn't mind a 3 pegasus knight sister triangle attack assist trophy, either.

No, all of the Fire Emblem games have the same basic gameplay. But I wouldn't underestimate how strategically complicated they get. Sacred Stones is definitely on the easy side of Fire Emblem games, so I can understand getting a little bored of it. However, other games like Radiant Dawn are much harder, and require you to be on your toes constantly. Thracia 776 is downright malicious; it is pretty much Nintendo's official hard mode rom-hack of the franchise.

How you play though the maps can affect your experience greatly too. Sacred Stones gives you Seth, a character who can pretty much solo the game between his high starting stats and great level growths. Other Fire Emblem games give you Jeigan or Marcus in that role, who level up terribly. If you rely on them to kill everything, you can easily run into a nigh-unwinnable game, since none of your good units have any exp (with no ability to farm levels). If you play Sacred Stones without using Seth, the game gets a fair bit trickier.

Yes, definitely. You have to protect VIP units, locations (villages, etc) almost every chapter is a bit different, at least in Awakening.
