Dark Souls II |OT2| Prepare to Vengarl

What am I reading here.

It's true. Freja is 100% predictable and impossible to die on once you know what to do. You don't even ever have to block or dodge anything.

Stand far away to bait a laser, run to the ass-face, hit it a few times. If it's another attack run a few steps away. If it's the thrashing around and spitting hug one of her sides. Can't get hit there.

I think it's one of the easiest bosses since it's so predictable.

is the Mad Warrior spawn not supposed to work? This is fucking stupid. 20x in a row resting at a bonfire and he STILL has not spawned. This is so stupid. It's literally fucking impossible to get the armor and weapon. Why would from do soemthing so stupid and make it such an absurdly low drop-rate and make him never fucking spawn/

Is that the one at Belfry Sol? I grinded him for the bellkeepers covenant rank 2, and yeah, it sucks. As far as I can tell, the spawn is completely random, and the RNG seems to get stingier the more times you kill him. I could go stretches of 20-30 rests without seeing him, and then he would spawn 4 times in a row. So annoying.

It's strange how different bosses become sticking points for different people playing this game, even when builds are similar.

I had plenty of problems with plenty of bosses, but not once was
Freja
one of them, even in NG++. Always one of the absolute easiest for me.

Stay under him.

No, seriously :p

You can summon two NPCs before that boss

I've tried, I can one-shot him (if I'm lucky) with Chaos Storm! I'm having a real hard time managing stamina though

YES! Two shots, but managed to stay under him! I died about 10 times trying

Why hello there fellow mage

When in doubt, go naked! Since we die in one hit anyway, might as well be fast rolling around.

I didn't think of that, was a bit worried he'd stun me if I had no armour, and then leave me to the rats!

Glad it's over, don't want to go through that again

flexible sentry is a little more tougher in NG+ (obviously)...got a little more...full in the room :P

Still not sure what I can do about this. I didn't get a single attack off before they mobbed me and I died. I'm really hoping those
ninjas
have low health and can be easily rushed, because if I let one live longer than a couple seconds it basically spells my doom.

oi son if you got enough int, equip a good catalyst and soul broadsword. Walk through the gate, wait 1 second, fire it off, et voila, both dem nuts down in one hit.

Just get Lucatiel to tank for you. She'll distract them long enough to thin out the herd a little.

Just to say you did it, really. He gives another giant's soul, but V is easy enough without it.

He's actually an easy fight, but his chance of complete randomness with his attacks is a pain in the ass. There are ways to prevent him from doing certain attacks, but it's not 100%.

So, yeah, kind of like you said...lame.
Seems you can also just burn a Bonfire Ascetic to get more giant souls if you need them, which is undoubtedly the easiest way as that just means you run through one memory fast, grab it, and then you're at 5 and good to go even in NG+.

Yeah it took me a long while to get rank 2 in the covenant this way. I also got him to drop his headgear and berserker blade, but I have no plans on using them. Just keep trucking, you'll get it eventually. If you can, cast homeward miracle when he's not there just to save some time.

I'm heading to the Drangelic Castle in New Game+. I took my time getting to the gate, because I had to beat the
red phantom
who was pretty tough. But after using my bow on the elephants and killing the
phantom
, I couldn't get the bowls filled and the door to open no matter how many times I got the enemies from the left and come and killed them near the door.

I had no problem with this area in New Game, and don't even remember having to do anything to open the doors. Any advice???

There's two them isn't there?
Nah, but he has "friends"

I had to summon a dude so we could trip up the A.I. But I avoided flexible until I dealt with that

NG+ Story:

Summon two buddies at Sinner's Rise bonfire, we clear the whole area up to the boss, warcry & dual bow at the fog gate, it's been a great run with these dudes, get inside and Sinner three-shots me. Dead. Buddies had been in the room for less than five seconds. I take my glasses and headphones off, rub my eyes, thinking "well fuck that was embarrassing," I look up and OF COURSE I'm at the Sinner's bonfire so the archers are lighting me up! Dead. 74,000 souls lost. :/
This is why I force extinction near those bonfires. In my book it's legit bad design rather than a good challenge to throw enemies right on top of a bonfire like that. They were meant to be a safe breathing spot in the first game you fuckers, you don't even have the twist of being subversive when you know the enemies are right there before you light the thing up.
Use your red sign soapstone next to the statue near the door you first open.

Nah, I think it's anywhere in the general area, I actually climbed the ladder near the elevator pillar, laid one down, and got summoned, which is handy when you don't want someone summoning you beforehand either because they caught on to what you planned to do and wanted to get you out of the way first, or because they're bloodthirsty maniacs eager to just summon whoever laid the sign down.

Though that instance ALSO had crazy long loading, so by the time I was in the Knight was just about to die and so I got ganged up on pretty easily.

Yeah, i didn't have much problem with Freja or Smelter demon or even Sif in DS1 but Royal Rat no matter how underneath him I am or to what side I dodge I get hit. I beat him don't get me wrong but he was one of those annoyances for me too.

Actually, those archers near the Sinner's rise bonfire don't appear until you rest the first time. Fuck that bonfire though.

They're there trying to shoot at you as you approach.

Then their AI goes weird when you enter the rise. One of them just seems to reliably disappear and I never really understand why.

Yeah, they're there when you're on the bridge looking pathway, but they seem to all disappear for me once I climb up the ladder, until I rest.

Sometimes you lose all your souls upon death. Sometimes, you lose your souls and go hollow. Sometimes you just go hollow.

Naw, that's not at all what I mean.

I think I read something about this bug being fixed in the next patch. Was a bad Google translation from Japanese though. =/

As others have said, stay under him. When he backs of before doing his charging attack, get your shield up and be prepared to roll. If you have a high enough stability shield you should only stumble.

Once you manage to get under him, just keep swinging!

Damn,
Looking (Gl)ass Knight
down in first attempt. Too easy :(

Yea, its kinda disappointing that a fight that iconic and memorable is one of the easiest in the game.

On NG+ and ++ though, he summoned actual players for me, that was cool as hell.

This set http://darksouls2.wiki.fextralife.com/Llewellyn+Set with the Black Hood given from Straid looks badass. PITA getting it to drop though, had to use a bonfire aesthetic to get the gloves.

Works really well for my Hex/Dark character. Managed to get the Chaos Blade in NG as well, damn The Lost Sinner is hard in NG+. Now he'll be NG++ for me in NG+ lol.

He was much harder in the pre-release build. Kicked everyone's ass at Eurogamer Expo. Massive nerf. They even nerfed the corridor that takes you to him, there was a magic based enemy at the end firing from the second you stepped in and the red eye knights were harder.
