I mean that W101 bombing would make a Wonder-Red a lower priority. Even if Sakurai intended to put Wonder-Red in, W101's poor sales would potentially leave Wonder-Red on the cutting room floor.

Ok so guys get this, I've got some Bowser info that guys on Smash Boards were discussing. Though even there not many seem to be talking about it.

Bowser takes repeated hits from Mega Man on his shell and has zero reaction from it! He just keeps whaling away on Mac! Now unless Mega Man's properties have changed since E3 Bowser has some sort of Hit Stun resistance on his back! For such a big target this is just what the doctor ordered! Isn't this great?!

Now then like Pikachu's Thunder seen in the original trailer, Mega Man's Mega Buster could have changed. So far though it looks like Bowser is getting buffed like no other!

Interesting, I think you're right. It looks like the buster hits as Bowser is doing a move (his jab?), so some super armor on [any given Bowser move] would make sense.

If the mega buster still stuns though, I think it won't by release. The utility of that is crazy, even if the stun is over quickly.
 
Guys, I can't deal with the unbelievable Smash Direct hype. WHY IS IT NOT TUESDAY YET?

What is the rest of SmashGAF doing to contain their hype until Direct time? I need help. ;_;
 
My incredibly specific (and unlikely) Direct prediction:

The Direct immediately opens with a 3-4 minute gameplay trailer featuring characters, stages, and items that have already been confirmed.

Afterwards, Iwata appears and introduces Sakurai, who takes over as the host of the Direct. Sakurai spends a few minutes talking about development, Miiverse, and the official site, and then he introduces a special trailer.

Cue Mii’s trailer.

After the video ends, Sakurai spends 5 minutes or so explaining the Mii’s customizability (all set to direct feed footage): you can edit its costume and moves, you can can build up its stats in a special mode, and you can trade Miis with friends.

Sakurai then says, “before we go, I have one last thing to show you.”

Cue Snake’s trailer.

“Thank you for watching,” and so on.

(The November release date will be announced at E3.)

The rest of my weekend untill Wednesday will consist of illustration homework. I got things to hold me down while the hype train keeps rolling.

I'm trying to be conservative with my expectations in order to not massively disappoint myself, but I'm hoping for at least:

- One newcomer (ideally one that's not Mii or Pac-Man, Rosalina-style basically)
- A couple of veterans (two or three?)
- A look at the interface/character select screen
- Music samples

I want to say a release date too, but if I'm being honest with myself, I don't think we're going to get one yet. But if we do... all the better!

As for veterans, I'm really hoping we finally get to see Ness and Captain Falcon...
 
My prediction: Sakurai walks into a blank, white room and stares into the camera for an hour. Then he bursts out laughing and a static picture of Yoshi is revealed.
 
Why do people still see November or even December as a release date? You show Fall games at E3. This game was already announced several months ago, it's been 2 years and 2 months since it started (Feb 2012 to April 2014), close to Brawl's dev time without Sonic delay (Oct 2005 to Dec 2007). It will come out soon.
 
Bill Trinen will probably be doing a voice over and hopefully it will have subtitles for IntelliHeath's (and others') sake(s).

Tom Nook is NOT realistic and *unfortunately* Wonder Red isn't either. Chrom is more than likely coming into than IKE returning. Snake is more than likely not returning and Pac-Man is kind of possible to come.

And Ridley...
Do I really need to say anything about Ridley? I don't mean to sound too snarky, actually, but I mean, saying that Chrom, Lucina, OR Robin (mind you, these are only Fire Emblem characters) being less likely than Ridley, Tom Nook, OR Wonder Red is silly.
 
I know it won't happen but now that I think about it, and actual fittable Squeenix rep for Smash could be a Crystal Chronicles character, they've only been on Nintendo consoles so far and they aren't tied to another brand like Disney.

Basically it would fit the FF IP into smash without looking or feeling odd, the artstile helps too since they mostly look chibi/cutesy.

And of course it would be a good move in anticipation to the new FFCC for the 3DS/WiiU... I wish.

Make it a character like Ice Climbers but 4 characters instead of two :D madness.
 
Animal Crossing is much more popular than Fire Emblem, it deserves a second character over a third Fire Emblem one.

Reasons why I expect Tom Nook:
1. He was glancing down at the letter in the first trailer
2. We haven't seen him in the background of the AC stage
3. Isabelle is an assist trophy over him

If I put one more character in it would be Chrom though, but it'd be Ridley I'd cut for that to happen rather than Nook.

Envelope. Everybody thinks Nook was looking at the letter, but he was staring at an empty envelope -- Villager ran off with the letter still in his hand. That really squashes the "stolen invitation" theory.

You can say the AC series deserves a second character. Don't go off and say it deserves it more than X series.

I don't think the Nook thing was really a hint, more of a transition for them to pan down and show the smash symbol, though it would be cool to see him.

I'm playing Ace Attorney Investigations 2 (in Japanese, started it up a week ago, it's taking a long time since it's a text-heavy game and not my native language), Final Fantasy X, and Bravely Default. Also gonna be doing some schoolwork. Might hop online with Chrono Phantasma too, my copy's still in the shrink wrap.

Tuesday still can't come soon enough though. I'm hyped.

Nah, it wasn't a "stolen invitation" theory. It was more of a "succumb to curiosity" theory, since he touches his face with interest. There's a Smash logo on the envelope too.
