Yep yep, I got smacked by Nightbot. Guess my last message was too long or something. Glad you took the time to read it to see that I didn't say anything offensive.

haha yeah of course. Thanks for stopping by. 3 bosses down tonight. Smelter Demon, Old Iron King, and The Rotten.

I did lose 52k souls tho. that stings. ):

Here's that video I said I'd post in case any one else doesn't want to fight the enemies leading up to the AD optional boss every time they die:

Video contains optional boss spoilers, obviously.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rukFVcXHQ4

It's 100% consistent
[the only thing I do that is even remotely strategic is the detour at around 30 seconds in. I'm not saying this is some grand strategy or anything.]
until the final stairs leading up to the fog door, and that section is just gonna be whether or not you're skilled at dodging through and/or juking attacks.

Still, assuming you only get damaged in that final area, you'll have most, if not all your resources still intact for the boss itself.
I guess this won't work, if there is fog wall, which appears after you aggro the boss?

Ffffffffff, Luca died right as I was midway swinging the killing blow to Lost S. I still have two (
Smelter Demon & The Rotten
) more chances right? Or is Lost S. an absolute needed kill.

Frustrationnnnnn.

Just run to the fog door and start the fight, she will join you with minimal damage.

Noted for next playthrough. Thanks!

You only need 3 of the 4. You can also use a Bonfire Ascetic to retry any of them if needed.

Ah, the feeling of being invaded in Shrine of Amana, using a Seed of Giants, and seeing a message that the invader has been vanquished a couple of seconds later.

I love how Iron Keep bridge has become the "de facto" PvP area for the community

Heidi Tower first bonfire is working its way of being the 2nd one. I thought Heidi woild have been a hot spot from the getgo but I guess people are now starting to mark the territories...atleast in NG+

I really enjoy Heide first bonfire for PvP. It's such a lovely area with a few great, varied fight locations.

I've noticed Iron Keep being a big spot, but the spot I get invaded at the most is huntsman's copse. Those blue spirits love hiding behind those
Red spirit badass whip/halberd guys
. Gets pretty annoying.

Haha...so good.

BTW is there any way to get more of these things because I've only found one in my first playthrough. :P

Guys
Guys
I'm gonna cry

After five days of farming, the Mad Warrior dropped his last item... But we killed each other at the same damn time. Anyone know if that's gone forever or can I still farm him for it?

Haha...so good.

Yes, you can pick them up occasionally on the Giant Tree near the Soldier's Rest bonfire in Forest of the Giants. They allegedly spawn when you are invaded, when you kill an invader, when you are killed by an invader or something like that. I'm not certain about the details. They do spawn more often than you think, though. :)

Still works. Those Drake Knights slow down and tether a few feet out of range if you're touching the fog door. In fact, you can see right around where they'll start backing up at the end of the video.

It took me 2 more runs to finally kill the AD after I first just started sprinting through, and I never once got hit when I was already touching the fog door.

The only way I could see one of them hitting you from the point that they tether while you've already reached the fog door is on the off chance that one of them uses a jumping attack or other type of melee attack that moves them a decent distance. Never saw it happen though.

The tree of giants near the turtle dudes at the Soldier's Rest bonfire in the Forest of fallen Giants has a chance to grow a seed every time you're invaded. The chance gets bigger with each invasion I think. Just check it every now and then.

140k souls in order to absolve my sins (I attacked Felkin the Outcast, sigh). that's ... a lot.

Why would I want to create a new character? I like this character. I want to keep playing as this character. Plus I still need to get all spells.

Having to create a new character is not a solution and doesn't fix this annoying issue. Even if I stayed lv 100, I would still have this issue.
well it's the only solution to reset the soul memory afaik, if you want to get some active online play again.

but yeah, this sm system is really awful.

Thanks guys, I'll check it out later. :)

class don't matter. you can make any character into anything. Only for min maxing it plays a small role.

"Knight" has decent stats at the beginning with lots of health, a bit of adaptability, vitality and strength.

It actually matters in the beginning. If you've never player a souls game, don't pick a depraved or you're gonna have a hard time. Otherwise, everything's fine.

So I'm having a hard time figuring out which weapon I should use. In Dark Souls 1 I always loved halberds and spears. In Dark Souls 2, I'm doing a little more PvP and I'm finding that I'm getting my but kicked with it pretty bad with my Halberd +7.

For PVP, should I continue upgrading my Halberd or possibly switch to the black knight halberd or Gargoyle Bident? Any thoughts on the upgrade path?

If Sunlight Blade/CMW/Resonant Weapon all give fixed bonuses, does it mean an upgraded chime/staff will give the same bonus as a maxed one?

Have a Seed of a Tree of Giants?

Like with most rare consumables, I don't think I'll ever use one. Would be funny though.

Pretty much. I used simpletons spice to be able to use CMW with my unupgraded staff because of this. One of the few combat changes I'm glad they made, the way magic weapon scaled irrelevant of the weapon it was put on was ridiculous.

Hmm, that explains why these buffs are insanely overpowered I guess.

It's only useful for invasions though, isn't it more of a waste of you never use it?

I know that's the case but I always think to myself with rare consumables that I need to save them for later. Not the most logical practice, I know.

I never use rare consumables either. Barely use the standard ones. Been like that for many years.

I'm the same way with rare consumables. I worry that I'll use it at an inopportune time and waste it, so I end up never using it at all which is essentially the same result.

Yeah, I often do the same. I still have all the rare life restore items. The seed of giants is so fun to use when you are invaded when farming or not wanting to fight though. I've gotten the seed used on me a couple of times when I've invaded, and it's interesting to see. I've never been caught off guard when someone use it on me though, all hosts have fallen despite it. :D

Now we're talking about Seeds of a Tree of Giants it would've been so cool if you could use one in the Mirror Knight boss fight and have the boss attack the invader. :D

How was it ridiculous? please explain to me how investing 40 stat points for a buff is ridiculous compared to investing nothing for a buff. There are already min/maxed builds that one shot with base level stats and spiced buffs with base catalysts.

Buffs in this game are just stupid as hell, why wouldn't you use one all the time? gotta love that weapon buff, great magic barrier pvp meta, watch it become used by everyone in a few weeks if the game stays the same.

I guess this appeals to the DeS fans that love their everyone-use-the-same-buffs-with-a-broken-talisman-pvp.

Okay, so unlike the other two Souls games [EDIT: Actually, now that I think about it, I can't remember if every class started with a shield in Demon's, but they definitely all did in Dark Souls1] where every class starts with a shield (even if some weren't very good shields), Knight Warrior is the only class that starts with one in Dark Souls 2.
FTFY. ;)

Using an Ascetic on Sinner's Rise is a terrible idea.
lol, this

Well, considering how OP magic is in DkS2 compared to DeS, I'd say in this case it might be warranted as to give melee builds a fighting chance.... :P In DeS, even without Curse Weapon, melee builds were far, far more competitive than pure mages or even spellswords. Now it's the other way around.

Not only do I do this but I obsessively avoid using the item box. I feel like I need instant access to anything and everything, so I've just got the most ridiculous inventory to scroll through when I'm changed what's on my d-pad or equipment.

Seeds of a Tree of Giants are fun to use, especially against those grey phantoms in Belfry Luna that try to run away to the last floor.

I only put duplicates in the item box :P

Question guys, can I do the quest for Navlaan if I use the Bonfire Ascetic in the first one? Curiosity made me not pull back lol.

Since I love dual wielding I keep two of every weapon on me, though I have item boxed the remaining ones if I have 3+.

i didn't use any divine blessings in 120hours.

never had the opportunity to use the seed.

I wonder how many divine blessings I've accumulated by now...

Damn,
Looking (Gl)ass Knight
down in first attempt. Too easy :(

Yea, its kinda disappointing that a fight that iconic and memorable is one of the easiest in the game.

On NG+ and ++ though, he summoned actual players for me, that was cool as hell.

Now that you said that, this trailer probably shows that missing enemy (I think its
the sub boss from Telsora?
)

Watching that shows how crappy the lightning downgrade is. When I played it at Eurogamer the framerate was fine as well, must of been some specific areas with issues and they just decided to torch the whole engine.

Just got the Wisdom Staff on my hex character, to now respec full on magic or stay as a hex/pyro...

Hex's are damn powerful, I got invaded in The Lost Bastille last night at SL 111 by a mage. Instantly casted homing, and then was spamming those large blue swirling balls. Took half of my health bar off, thought I was a gonner and then two quick casts of Great Resonant Soul obliterated him in seconds. First cast took off 80% of his health bar lol. Those were the only two moves/casts I made.

I never thought I would do it, but I did. I am now a Hex Machine:
