Dark Souls II |OT2| Prepare to Vengarl

I just got invaded by 2 grey players and a red player at the same time in belfry sol and killed all 3 of them in my farming gear.

The A
ncient
D
ragon
really doesn't mess arounds with his
fire
attack. Could buff myself and get hit 3 times in NG+. Now it only takes 2 hits to die. And looks like 1 hit without buff. Need to be more careful now. heh
Wait what?
You could take the fire breath 3 times in NG+?! What kind of insane HP/fire defense/armour did you have? By stacking all my fire defense, and with 2000+ HP, he'd still kill me in two hits. Without a buff like Flash Sweat or Small Orange Burr I'd survive with barely a sliver, with Flash Sweat I lost a little over half my HP and with the burr I'd lose about 2/3rd.

How do you survive so many hits in NG+?! :S (Or... did you mean the Guardian Dragon rather than the Ancient Dragon? XD

I havnt seen many people say much about the pole, other than it's reach? But yea, seems the Chaos Blade deals ridiculous damage. I'm gonna role with that one for my PVP build.

Thx guys. Still need to get the Shadow Mask. Then I can start upgrading my armor.

Pole is easier to setup parry in my experience. Otherwise yeah, feel like it's the best katana.

Even though it's technically still peer to peer for the invasions, I've gotta say that I'm really impressed with how quick it is to invade someone. I've been popping cracked red eye orbs all over the place and finding heaps of people to fight.

The best thing though is warping into some unfortunate soul's world and seeing them in a real bad spot. I invaded someone in Heide's Tower and spawned right next to the D
ragonrider
boss door and as the screen faded in I was met with a pretty great sight. Five Old Knights and two NPC phantoms were all chasing the host as he ran towards the fog door, obviously trying to escape the pain train behind him. I waved to him as he was crushed by several gigantic weapons at once and then was warped out with my free token of spite in hand.

I could have progressed without all 4 boss souls earlier (I had 3) but I decided to get the 4th just for fun. It was F
reya
. I really liked that boss fight. I'm kinda sad that I'm getting closer to finishing the game. I know I'm only scratching the surface since I haven't started NG+ yet and I can do a ton of builds but the first run is always the best.

I've been putting my red invasion sign down on the Iron Keep bridge and I've been getting summoned into some pretty awesome worlds.

Some people set up these little arenas with boundaries being defined by prism stones. Had some really enjoyable duels.

One of the hosts dressed in a Jester outfit and used the Channeler Trident's strong attack to "initiate" a duel between 2 red phantoms. It was hilariously creative.

Finally got the berserker blade. Holy balls was i unlucky. It took a total of 4.5 hours and 68 kills to get it all.
I got crazy lucky there, funnily enough. Too bad I need a ton of Twinkling Titanite to really buff that out, and as I have a platinum I don't really feel I should keep at it longer than I have. Maybe in a few weeks I'll bother.

So I got my anti magic gear on, and was wondering why my stats summary says my magic defence is only about 58?

Is there an item I'm wearing that's negating it?

Oh nevermind, just realised it's not a simple addition formula

A very strange glitch happened while I was fighting Smelter...

I got warped to the fog gate mid battle, and my character got stuck inside the fog gate somehow. Needless to say no dodging could save my ass from smelter's fury.

Dammit...

Just got to Drangelic Castle and I am noticing a huge difficulty spike. Using a pure strength based character here can make it ever harder.

To be fair, WoTG is a slower and more obvious cast than it was in DS1. That being said, it can 2-shot you and is by far the hardest of spells to dodge.

Seems like it has better range as well, but I'm not sure about that. I'm wearing light armor and it one shots me. It's crazy powerful.

Lol, my gf out of the blue wanted to play ds2. She chose sorcerer and, under my instructions, trotted over to FoFG. I got her to light the bonfire at Crestfallen Post(?), and then she got back stabbed by one of the undead mobs roaming around. Died. We laughed, and she respawned, only to die again...and again...and again cuz she kept trying to cast soul arrow in front of those mobs that are clearly swinging at her. Stun stun stun, dead. Half health now. Got frustrated so she handed the controller to me. I cleared the area and handed her the controller to let her climb up the ladder leading to the 3 undead mobs and the Heide knight. She locked on to one of the targets and kept backing up, with the camera facing forward the whole time, and somehow, some way, fell off a ledge. She yelled out "FUCK. AGHHHHHH WHAT THE HELL, I HAVE A HEADACHE. I'M DONE. HOW THE HELL DO YOU PLAY THIS?"

I said "welcome to dark souls hon!"

My GF decided to start playing my copy of Dark Souls 1 whilst I was playing 2 in the same room. Surprisingly after a good number of hours she made it to and defeated the Gargoyles with a summon. I had to do a hell of a lot of explaining and telling her where to go though, which was surprisingly frustrating - I think DS is just one of those games you want the controller in your hand, not directing others.

It's scary as well how much of DS1 really needs wiki explaining, I told her over and over it's best just to go on the wiki and read it. DS2 has definitely been made more accessible and now I agree, in a good way.

Alright guys, I need 5 twinkling titanite. What's the quickest way to get them? I've just arrived in Shrine and hear the enemies there can drop it, but is there anywhere better?

Pretty sure I've got most lootable pieces.

What the best weapon entchantment? or they are pretty much the same now¿? (like, in DS1 if I went dex/faith I could have both Sunlight blade and Darkmoon blade, and they were pretty nice buffs)

What? Half the time in DS II I had no clue what I'm supposed to do and more importantly WHY.

Why do we need to visit the
dragons to get back into the memory
? Why do we need the giant souls? How is that supposed to cure the curse? Why were we dragged there from another world? The game did a TERRIBLE job at even giving the basics. Neither Demon nor Dark Souls did that. I had a "purpose" there. I didn't have one here.

Is ever single covenant spell purchasable from
the castle
butler in NG++?

Hidden Weapon is only obtainable by reaching rank 2 in the bellbros I think.

Also now that we're talking about bellbros, yesterday I joined the covenant and is
Belfry Luna
full of gankers or what? half of the time that I was summoned there there were two people waiting in the spawn spot...at least fix the damn spawns From so I can have a chance. Didn't encountered any gankers in
Sol
though, had some good fights there.

Questions:

Can you stack status effects between rings and equipment? Such as item discovery with a jester hat and the gold serpent ring? Or stamina?

And any thoughts on using the boss souls? I'm happy wth my drangelic sword, claymore +10 and halberd +10. I'm thinking I'd rather use them for the souls...

I like how they've added more enemies and stuff like that to the ng+, iirc in DkS1 there were less changes or none at all in a lot of locations.
still I wish they did more.

Darn I'm not getting summoned often. What's the offline method if you don't mind?

You can kill that red phantom that sometimes spawns in Belfry Sol and it counts. Eventually it stops respawning if you sit at the fire too much though.

On another note: Can you get the merchant in Drangleic to sell the NG++ stuff with a Bonfire Ascetic?

yes, also the miracle you get from sunbros rank 3 covenant it's exclusive to that convenant.

Yep forgot about that. Also NG+ in DS was identical to NG so there was no added enemy types or changes in enemy placement, still haven't started NG+ but the changes sound really cool at DSII.

Haven't checked if there is an offline method but if you want to go online then try changing the option that enables cross region play, that helped a lot yesterday since I also had problem being summoned there when I had region locked multiplayer.

Finished my first ng playthrough this morning beat every boss except
Darklurker
. Couldnt even get to him in fact. I went to the
Dark Chasm via Black Gulch
and couldnt get past the first 3 enemies there in 10 tries lol.
My character was level 165 pure melee. Used a
Claymore +10 with a Royal Kite Shield
for most of the game.
NG was hard enough for me so instead of ramming my head into the concete wall that is ng+ I deleted my save and will start a new playthrough sometime.
For now I need to finish Farcry 3 Bloodragon and get started on Infamous:SS.

Nope, I meant A.D. lol. With fully upgraded Black set from Straid, Red Quartz Ring +2, the other all magic types resistance ring (forget its name), and Flash Sweat and prob 1900+ health it would take 3 hits to kill me. Keep in mind I was lv 240 or so for that fight with A.D. and a Miracle/Pyro build, so I already have decent fire resistance.

From, nerf wotg plz thx XD
Nah, it has such a small range to be effective. In my experience, invaders need to be right next to me to get hit. I only use it as a last result. Powerful and saved my butt a few times, but really can't depend on it that much

The thing with wog is that it shares the same startup animation with heal, so you can make people have to guess between letting you full heal or getting 1-shot by wog. Pretty dumb.

That is crazy. Such mastery of the game. Makes you feel like a loser for every time you summoned for help on the more difficult bosses ...
These videos would be less irritating to me if fists weren't actually one of the best weapons to use in those fights.

If this dude makes a video doing 4 kings with fists only then ill be impressed enough to not get douche chills at how hard he's jacking himself off.

Wow, just got the Alva set. Probably the best looking knight set ever. From are so great at making these armor sets!

My character is female so she rocks the Alva with the desert sorceress hood, it looks pretty awesome. Its also a good light armor when buffed out.

I never did get KV to aggro me, even after I killed Nashandra and had the giant souls and all of that. So I guess I'm done with my first playthrough.

No you need to be on NG++ unfortunately. It's not too bad because I plan on playing for a while anyway. It's just the Bell Guardians issue. Do need to teleport to the bonfire from Iron Keep right?

Haven't checked if there is an offline method but if you want to go online then try changing the option that enables cross region play, that helped a lot yesterday since I also had problem being summoned there when I had region locked multiplayer.

Tried that, didn't increase it too much =/

Yeah, the one that needs a pharros lockstone to get to.

Wait, really?

So he wasn't dressed like this when you first encountered him? I'm 85% certain that's what he was wearing for me every time I saw him.

What was he wearing then?

He was wearing a white bulky armor similar to the Heide knights, I remember questioning and googling stuff to find out how he was related to them, because I thought he was one of them.

Next thing I know, I walk up to Pate fighting this random guy in a black garb and I side with Pate because I don't know who the guy is.

FUCK the
Ancient
Dragon. Go through fog door, get one shotted.

Also, end boss question:
I killed the two guys in the throne room, and I teleported out of there because I didn't want to face the guy yet
. I want to face him now, but when I enter the room nothing happens? I walk around and such, but still nothing happens.

Also where to get chaos blade?

Interesting. I certainly hope you haven't discovered another game breaking glitch.

Chaos Blade is from a soul trade with
Ornifex
, but the soul you need can only be obtained on NG+ and higher. You could ascetic
Lost Sinner
and get it now, though

Question about infusion a weapon, if I put a magic infusion to a weapon it scales with my Int or what could be the best element infusion for a katana?

My face when I talked to Queen
Nashandra
(?) and she said,
"Visit King Vendrick.. There is no
Yeah right!!??

She is really big but when you enter the normal throne room there are normal chairs.

You need to defeat the Giant Lord and get the items he drops in one of the dreams.

You have to go back to the forest of the fallen giants and open the king's door there.

Dear Blue Sentinels. Invading me at Dragon Shine is probably not the smartest idea. I can and will use that long bridge that disrupts your running/walking as a focus point to kill you before you even get to me.

Thanks for the lovely souls though!
