When you press start, your menu comes up immediately every time? About half the time for me it lags for a good 2-4 seconds before bringing up the menu.
I have trouble chugging Estus sometimes. I can't remember having trouble with the menu (35 hrs played). But the there's definitely a problem with input registration. Wouldn't call that lag, though.

It reminds me of the first Dark Souls, before they patched it. There was a strange input lag. I can't remember the specifics, but if you had just let down your shield and then tried to drink an estus, there would be like a full second delay. Something like that. It was an odd input lag that only happened in certain situations.

This game seems to have its own more rare input lag issue that I haven't pinpointed yet, but I notice it when it happens.

If you infuse a weapon before it's at it's maximum potential, does it stop you from reinforcing it later? I have a +4 Dragon Chime, and enough twinkling tits to upgrade, but it's greyed out?

Thanks

D'oh, nevermind, I read the numbers the wrong way around. Of course it's it's a reversed fraction.

So;

First person who can help me grab the Shadow Mask from the Suspicious Shadows in the Flexile Sentry Boss Fight (NG+ and beyond), get's $10 in PayPal from me.
I got 2x Mask, Top, Leggings and the Dagger in my first 10 runs, and then spent 50 runs without getting the Gauntlets. Fuck that shit...

You can call it whatever you want, but I'd be extremely surprised if you were not experiencing it. It's been a constant issue since release.

I'm planning on getting this on PC when it drops, can I beat the game as a dual wielding swordsman or does a shield become necessary at any point.

I didn't try it, but I read you can quit the game during the boss fight and start outside the fog gate if you're unlucky with drops. Unfortunately I farmed the whole set before I read that tip.

Almost feels like a memory leak that it happens more frequently the longer I play. One time it took like 5 seconds for the menu to pop up.

Only delay I noticed is that some pictures of bonfires don't load in immediately. No input delay during combat yet. (360]

Input lag in this game is horrible. It's worse than the early days of Dark Souls 1.
In a game where timing is very important, how many time I died because of this stupid thing. I hope From Soft is aware of the problems the game has and they are working to fix them.

I guess you're playing on the PS3 because input lag and controls feel a lot better on the 360 (probably because of the higher frame-rate with no v-sync) plus the menus load a lot faster (loadings are better in general when the game is installed) and there are no sound pauses/delays.

Having played both versions I'd recommend anyone who has both systems to at least try out the 360 version, it's much better than the PS3 version IMO.

On input lag: would this be alleviated playing on VGA rather than HDMI? Just asking as I haven't noticed it.

Yep, almost always the VGA inputs have the least input lag. You will lose in IQ because most HDTV sets disable most of the picture settings at VGA though.

Some Samsung TV sets have a particular HDMI port (usually HDMI port 2) that when you enable PC mode on it reduces input lag by a good amount, I did that on my set and saw a noticeable difference.

Also guys now that I remembered about it be sure to open the DSII server ports on you modem/router for better connectivity, ports are:

TCP: 50000 - 50100

UDP: 50000 - 50100

I haven't really had the load time issues people have had, on the 360. Loading for me takes 10 seconds tops, not counting Looking Glass Knight invasion loading screen.

Very little input issues, only the lack of v-sync and the pop in are killing me.

The only thing I can find to complain about this game is the hitboxes and the general inconsistencies. I feel like I get used to the games rules, only for the game to break said rules a few tries later.

Im currently doing a SL1 run, and I am at the Looking Glass Knight. Ive been able to stun lock him before he summons a phantom... and other times it just doesnt work. Little things like that in addition to the hitboxes not making sense at times is something I hope they can patch... but Im not going to hold my breath.

I've played most of the game with no shield and it's certainly a great way to play it. Some areas might be a bit easier with a shield, but they are still doable without it. Good thing is, when those areas come up, you can just equip a shield. Just because you're a dual swordsman does not mean you can't equip a shield when needed.

Beat it. I was having a great time until the final 20% of the game. I think this game was just too long for me and there were some questionable instances of hit detection.

I still think I liked Demons Souls the best. Don't regret my time with this game, not at all, but still disappointed.

LOL, the worst thing about NG+ are all those damn Dark Spirits. They're everywhere. The worst one was a super fast guy with a giant hammer right before a bonfire. Killed me. :(

best chime/staff for miracles/hexes?
*is the Sunset Staff the best option for casting hexes?
anyone? :<
*Dragon Chime is the best one for pure faith build, but I'm not sure which is the best option if I don't go for that 50 faith and a more hexes oriented build.

For hexes? Chime of Want, Caitha's or Idol I guess. Probably one of the first two.

Invading the crypt when the host hasn't opened the shortcut pisses me off.

Invading in the hall before the boss when the host has phantoms is some of the most fun PvP I've had in this game though.

Sunset staff and chime of want. Since chime of want is end game gear use idol's chime until cathita chime.

k thanks, I'm in ng+ so I should have one of those.

I hate those pyromancers in the Lost Sinner fight.

and why do you guys care so much about the Shadow set.

Alot of it is to do with just collecting everything possible. It being so rare, you want what you can't have etc.

I also, want it for PVP Build. Looks badass.

I kind of can't stand how many dark spirits there are in NG+. It's especially worse when they're a very easy spirit to kill, but they were placed right in front of a door or ladder. It's just tedious to have to deal with them all the time.

damn dear duke freja laser beam of death hits hard.

also this is like the third or fourth boss that I've fought that has had standard enemies in the fight too. that is one way to make a boss fight more difficult.

Damn. Malformed Skull has so much damage. That weapon is pure destruction.

Yeah I'm watching boss videos of it wrecking face.. I'm a MLGS noob and with my 77 int and CMW and it might do that much dmg on a boss if I'm lucky.. Sadly too many bosses are resistant to magic so I have to switch to a Katana, Lightning Greatsword+10 or a Mastadon or Black Knight Weapon..

What is the best kind of infusion for the Great Club +9 of my STR build?

No infusion is needed for STR build.

Yes. PS3 here.

I fucking hate Vendrick. I'm not finding him any easier on my second playthrough with a different character. I'm fine until he does his sweeping combo. The first hit stunlocks and drains 100% of my stamina when blocked or clipped whilst rolling, which basically means I'm dead because even if he only does 2 hits and not 3, the next swing is guaranteed to hit and takes 80% of my health and then I'm left scrambling to heal.

Mantra: "Breath in, breath out... all it takes is patience. You've done it once, you can do it again!"

Do you have all 5 Souls of a Giant?

Getting invaded on a regular basis now that I'm SL150 and can't say that I'm enjoying it. I'm crap at PvP to begin with so this whole thing of being susceptible to invasions while hollow is an extremely unwelcome change to me.

Man that corridor in Aldia's Keep with the Ogres, fuuuuck. Thank god for poison darts things.
