Holy shit, all these invasions by Blue Sentinels are starting to piss me off. I'm in NG+++ right now, collecting the last missing achievements which can't be done offline. But since I've killed all the NPC before I started NG+, my sin level must have grown very high. No matter how many invaders I kill, I just can't get rid of my sinner status. Please don't tell me I need to die to these invaders. My ego can't handle losing on purpose.
Worst thing: I'm trying to farm sunlight medals by helping other players with some bosses. But every time I get invaded, the game erases my summoning sign. Which happens about every 30 seconds when I'm online.
At least invasions are not a surprise to me anymore. Everytime the game erases my summoning sign, it takes about 15 seconds until the invasion message pops up and the invader spawns. Enough time for some buffs and to position myself right behind the invader (after a while, you'll learn all the invasion spawn points).

Okay so I'm in D
rangleic
C
astle
, In the room with all the
Ruin Sentinels
. Does anyone know what is in the room that is all the way on the end to the right? I've been able to work my way through all the other rooms, and I know there is a chest in that last room on the right, but I just want to know what it is

Royal Soldier ring + 1

You should talk to Cromwell in Brightstone Cove. You filthy sinner.

I suppose you can use the Bracing Knuckle ring +2 to slow down the durability loss. It is an extra cost for using the weapon though.

Yeah, I'm weighing my options. I might just stock up on repair powder or even use the repair spell because I don't want to give up a ring slot. I'm still using lots of hexes though so it's not as much of a nuisance as it would be if I were pure melee.

Oh right, the repair spell. That's probably your best bet unless you want to fork over lots of souls.

I don't know if he can pardon sins you did in NG when you are in NG+ though.

nothing new beyond ng++ afaik

use bonfire ascetic to farm the items
Ok, i see, thanks for the info =)

I think i have almost all items now, i only had to use bonfire ascetic to get the
butterfly outfit
, but i think that is because of a bug. Even at NG+++ i couldnt buy that outfit, i had to use bonfire ascetic three times to be able to buy it.

Nice! I noticed that I get constantly invaded now, even by reds, now that I'm a sinner. This obviously means the invasions target us fellow sinners more than others. Kinda explains why I didn't get as many before.
I'm not a sinner, but i still get invaded from time to time.

Yeah, I did open that door. I'll boot up the game again after supper and go back there to see if he's still there saying the same thing.
Ok, i see. Did you manage to get it to work?

Yikes, the P
ursuer take two
in the S

D
emon
room in Iron Keep is kicking my ass. Is he physically tougher the second time or is it just the lack of ballistas?

Anyone know how to get the Moon Butterfly set from the armor dude? I'm NG++, though raised Majura to NG+++ setting, and spent a lot with him and he still doesn't sell it yet.

I'm not a sinner, but i still get invaded from time to time.

I've gotten some invasions before, but since I've become a sinner, I've got like 20+ invasions since the other day. Really great way to get ton of souls. lol

He's definitely tougher, I actually beat him in that room before his actual boss fight (which I cheesed because I was so high level) and it took a while to whittle him down in the SD room.

That's odd, I used three ascetics in NG and was able to get it. Are you sure you spent enough? You know for sure when he's moved from his chair onto a chest and he seems cocky.

I think its a bug. I had the same issue. I was on NG+++ and he still wouldnt sell it. I had to use 3 bonfire ascetic in Majula for him to sell me the full set. I dont think its any big deal to use bonfire ascetic in Majula.

Maybe it requires actual bonfire ascetic usage to get it. I've only used one. I'll try another. I have like 25+ anyways.

Just don't go into the Mansion basement or fight those pigs *shudders*

It's so hard to actually hit those pigs, and they actually do good damage in higher NGs.

So, I did Earthen Peak today. I rather liked the area. Reminded me a bit of Sen's Fortress. By the way, has anyone tried beating the boss there without
burning the windmill?
It seems totally impossible to me the few times I tried it. I'm glad for the messages that told me to do that thing, otherwise I would never have a chance to kill that boss.
Slow movement, poson and boss regenerating health
all at once were a bit much for me. I guess you would need a really overpowered character to stand a chance? Anyway, after doing that thing, the boss went down in one attempt. The
Silverblack
Shield makes it a lot easier as a lot of her attacks are
magic based
. Does
burning the windmill
make any items appear that weren't there before? I noticed one just outside the boss room, but is there anything else?

But I don't feel like doing a
fire area
, so I will go another rout. Either try the Pursuer, the area behind the petrified woman, No-mans Wharf or the areas down the well. I did take some quick trips down there (just to the first bonfires) and the
Gutter
seems really cool. I loved that kind of level design in Demon's Souls 5-1 and Blighttown in the previous games, so I think I will have a good time there.

Something odd happened on my quick visit to Grave of Saints. Just walked a few meters from the bonfire before I was called to someone else's world as a grey spirit. Not knowing what the fuck was going on, I walked on inside the place. A bunch of rats jumped me, but they went down very easily to my Bastard Sword's one handed R2 attack. As I walked into the next room I noticed a suspicious rat statue. So I attacked it, and sure enough, it turned out to be the host with a Chameleon spell. He was very easy to fight. It looked like he wasn't really expecting a fight. He was wearing very light armour (maybe prisoner's tatters?) and was wielding a small sword and a small shield. I suck at PVP, but I took him down very easily. With that, I got a Pharros lockstone and was moved back to my own world. Even though I have no idea of what just happened, that was really fun! And the Pharros lockstone makes me feel a lot better about burning one on a
poison fountain, wtf
in Earthen Peak.

Can anyone clue me in on what was up with that gray phantom stuff? I sent a message to the host to ask what was going on, but didn't get a reply. Anyway, it was fun!

Finally, does any merchant sell poison moss? After Harvest Valley, Earthen Peak and being invaded by (and losing to) a guy who kept using a poison mist spell on me, I'm running low. I guess I could go back to Huntman's Copse to farm also, but I don't really enjoy farming.

Yeah, i needed to use at least two for him to sell me parts of the set, and a thrid one for him to sell me the final piece.

Yep. Just used another, and they show now.

Maybe a raw infused short or composite bow. Or lightning. Besides bows maybe an Avelyn would be nice on the side if it's not too heavy...not sure about the weight.
Thanks! I usually do well against the no-spells thing, but occasionally I need a better backup. Last invader keep healing himself with some spell, so got harder before he killed me. lol

Master of Pyro/Miracle/Sorcery: Some spells require a certain Covenant rank,
e.g Rank 2 Bellkeeper for Hidden Weapon, Rank 3 Heirs of the sun for Sunlight Spear
.
Ah yes, i forgot about
Sunlight Spear
. I think that one can only be achieved online indeed. The other one though, that can be done offline. Just
join the Bell Keeper covenant and hope for the red phantom to spawn in Belfry Sol. If you kill him, it counts as one kill towards the covenant rank. I did this about 20 times and i got the sorcery spell.

Sunlight Spear can actually be done offline. The big giant monsters in the Harvest area occasionally drop Sun Medals.

Man I'm having issues with vendrick. And I have all lost souls.

Fucker 2 hits me every time and rolling seems to be in effective for defence

Hehe, i almost forgot about those pigs =) I think my bonfire rank at Majula is at 8 or 9 now. I wonder how hard it is to kill those enemies now.

Yep. Just used another, and they show now.
Cool =) If you're going to use that set, be careful when you talk to NPCs, because they get
poisoned if you stand to close. I did this mistake with the old woman in the forrest, and now she attacks me every time i go there. Well, at least for this round/game, i assume that she wont attack me once i go to NG+++++.

Circle Strafe to the right of him (the side he doesnt have his sword on). I even saw a guy just strafe him like that never block or dodge once, it bypassed all his attacks just like that. I always get nervous and dodge a few times but it's a great strategy.

Hug his left leg the entire battle. If he gets too close to a wall, run to the middle of the arena, bait him, and then run back to his left leg. Roll/jump out of the way of an attack if necessary.

After you burn the windmill,
it turns into a healing pool
. Still not a great use of a lockstone.

If you join the Rat King Covenant, you can wear a ring that allows you to summon other players to your world in Grave of the Saints.

Gavlan sells it whenever he pops up. You should be able to find him in a cave in Harvest Valley if you haven't already.
However, the more efficient way to get them is definitely to farm them in Huntsman's Copse.

I had a really nice shield and weapon by then so it wasn't too bad but he seems to have shitloads more health. Worth persevering, though :)

Yeah, this is the most effective strategy indeed. I would also recommend taking off all armor and shield in this fight. It makes strafing a bit faster i think. And if you dont go too far on his side, try to stay just a bit to right of him while strafing, he might not do the back jump attack.

I'll try that now. Just want to crush him before the final boss.

I read about it in a Wiki, but I wiped out their population in NG, NG+ and NG++. Not a single medal dropped. Might have dropped in vanilla version, but unless I'm freakishly unlucky, it's fair to assume they don't drop anymore.

Totally forgot about him, I'm gonna give it a try. Invading others is fun though and I might enjoy doing it in Bellfry Luna. If you see a crazy char dual wielding two Greatswords in power stance (both +10, Lightning + Fire), that's most likely me. :D

Finally got him! Worth persevering for sure — the
Ring of Blades+1
is sweet.

Next step: Same ring +2

You found the Rat Covenant area. One of From's more clever covenant ideas. People get summoned into their world. If they kill you they get a rat tail to rank up the covenant. There are also lots of Pharros doors that unlock traps that a host can use to their advantage. There are 2 areas in the game for the Rat Covenant so you will likely see them again.

Bellbroing it to get the miracle for rank 2. I invaded a guy at Sol and he was summoning help at the entrance, doing the pumped up emote as the phantom is coming in to help him.... I backstab him. Felt so bad about it. :(

I then also backstabbed the phantom.

Anyone here use axes? I have a friend who wants to know a good axe to use on a STR/Faith build. I'm not too familiar with the weapon set, but I don't think axes are a good fit for them. Lightning scales with faith, right? What are some weapons people with str/faith builds here, use?

Black Knight Greataxe does fire damage (scales with INT or FTH) and has a faith requirement. Drake Keepers Greataxe is fun on a STR build.

I would say it's their worst covenant idea. The encounters just take so long in Doors of Pharos. The rat bros just sit at the top of the level, and it takes forever to get to them if they have all the enemy doors unlocked. If I am just trying to go buy something from Gavlaan and I get summoned as a grey spirit it is really annoying, since I know the game is going to waste a bunch of my time forcing me to go through the tedious PvE section.

Yup, it's terribly frustrating when you're just trying to move through the area. At least you don't have to go to any of the Belfry areas if you don't want to.

Been using a lightning infused Claymore +10. There is probably something else I could use to do more damage but I've gotten so used to what I can and can't do with this move set. Every time I try something different I get wrecked.

Invading a guy who keeps his shield up all time with full magic resistance armor sure can be difficult. Didn't really survive that. lol

Also invaded another person with one of the worst lags. Got ganged up from 2 people while dealing with horrible lag that got me killed even though I wasn't even near them.

Strangely, I was able to invade someone today who I co-op with the other day. Kinda funny. Feel little bad for killing him. heh

Will forward these to him, Blackknight greataxe seems pretty good. I don't think he'd want to use a claymore, but I'll definitely let him know about it, I like the claymore :( .

Looking Glass Knight
and
Dual Dragonriders
down last night. Not so bad. I still have only summoned for the
Pursuer Demon
guy.

Also, i'm rolling with the great club +10 and that thing is BANANAS. Huge smash damage. I was hitting
Looking Glass Knight
for 871 0_o. Puny weaklings using bladed weapons.
