Hahaha. What a joke that movie is going to be.
Their origin is with the X-Men, but they were pretty quickly pushed into and stayed with the Avengers. Outside of Quicksilver's years with X-Factor, I don't think they really ever joined the X-team. At the very least, their Avengers years vastly outnumbers their X-Men appearances.

Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch history is mostly with the Avengers, they appeared in more avenger comics, married and had kids with avengers, etc. They only get involved with the X-men when shit is going down. Hell Quicksillver was the only one on a team with an X in the name.
Whedon teased Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in an interview, confirmed them a month later, and something like a week later Quicksilver was cast for Xmen.
So yeah, while I'm being a little tongue in cheek, it's absolutely believable.

Come on, Cyan. Whedon ANNOUNCED Quicksilver first. That's all. He was announced in Days of Future Past along with the other week-to-week character/cast announcements like Bishop/Trask etc. But they had already started principal photography before Whedon made his announcement. It's much more plausible he was already in the film's script. This 'Singer/FOX got jealous/petty and shoehorned the character in because of Marvel's announcement' narrative is absolutely ridiculous.

but i actually think i might enjoy this quicksilver. he might be funny, wolverine or xavier might insult his style.
i dunno how the character will be portrayed in avengers 2. could be likely he's actually more entertaining in xmen than avengers.
or maybe not. we'll see. i'm pretty damn positive i'll love this film more than avengers 2 though because joss whedon is worse than the director of jack and the beanstalk and superman returns.

Disco is right about JLaw in X-Men. In First Class she was terrible. Her one line-reading in the trailer for DofP doesn't instill me with confidence either. Such disinterest in being there.

I thought First Class was really bad to be honest, outside of Fassbender and McAvoy's performances. I'll never understand the praise for that film.
Not too fond of the trailers and promotional material for this, but Singer made X2 which is up there as top 5 superhero films for fucking sure. So I'll see it anyway.

The praise for Fassbender's performance in First Class is also overstated. I suspect it's his performance/reputation from other films bleeding through. Because outside of the Nazi confrontation, he's the worst he's ever been in First Class. McAvoy is very decent in the film though. Neither have a hair on Stewart and McKellen though in this franchise.

Agreed on First Class. Those two were decent, everything else was lousy.
As for DoFP, I have no faith whatsoever in Singer anymore. Superman Returns was terrible, and the stupid changes he's made to the story and the laughable cosplay costumes in this one don't inspire confidence.

Real talk though, latest Flash arc is bad... Like, barry allen bad.
Evan Peters wasn't comfortable with where they took his character in Kick-Ass 2 (who could blame him?) so it was recast. Still pretty ironic, though.
I thought he was decent, but yeah nothing special. Kevin Bacon was alright as well, just saddled with a forgettable part.
And agreed on the latter; McKellen especially is very good in the first two films. My favourite part of the entire series is Brian Cox as Stryker though; partly because he's one of my favourite actors, but he makes what is on paper an unremarkable villain, no superpowers to speak of, into a very real threat.
