Still have a few hours to hover my finger over the purchase button for Amazing Spider-Man Vita. Despite having it on consoles and PC, it's the only Spidey game available on the platform and I want it.

Someone tell me it's not as bad as videos and reviews make it seem. I need to thwip on the go.

It's fucking awful, don't waste your money. It's the only version of the game I played, didn't pay on PC/PS3 but the Vita version looks severely gimped 70% of the time. The loading times suck so much too for a handheld game.

(I paid $10 so it was 'ok' for that price, but I really don't recommend the Vita version. As a game, the gameplay sucked but the story was surprisingly decent)

Is the PS3 version good. I know the above poster hasn't played it but anyone else? Is $20 a good price?

I played the 360 version, and I don't think there are any major technical difference between the two, and it's really, really good. If you can get past the "not muh Spider-Man 2" swinging, the swinging they do have is exhilarating feeling, and the combat is pretty good. It's a bit rough around the edges, but for $20, it's probably the best Spidey experience on this generation of consoles. The next one looks pretty great too.

Dammit.

It's not a bad price, but there are superior Spider-Man games on the PS3. Web of Shadows is significantly better in every department except visuals, and can probably be found for around the same price or cheaper. That game is an under-appreciated gem, and really nailed the combat.

Vanilla P4 is the definite P4 since no Marie :^)

We demand Screenshots!! haha

Vanilla:
ACE:

Thanks for posting. Sounds like a huge improvement over the original.

Most of the changes are things that should have been in the original, tbh. :b
But yeah, it's Ragnarok Odyssey, only more playable and with more content. So if you disliked the original, this won't do much to change your mind about the game. If you liked the original, you'll love this.

Also, for those who care, different classes seem to have access to more ACE skills than others. Sword Warrior, Hammersmith, and Assassin get 5 ACE skills total. Hunter and Cleric get 6. Mage gets 7.

I like how both DanganRonpa games are cheaper here than the first game is here
Eh original PSP releases were $60 a pop ($70 with '10/'12 exchange rates). Even if the reload version didn't exist you guys would still be getting a good deal on the individual games :P

even yosp knows FFVIII was GOAT
wLDup36.png

Never understood the amount of hate it gets.

I would choose FFVIII over FFVII any time, any day of the week.

Let me rank 'em, main line games only:

FFX > FFIX > FFIX > FF VIII > FF VI > FF VII > FF XII > FFXIII > FFV> FF IV > FF III > FFII > FFI.

Guys(gals) I need a suggestion. I got the one game rental plan from gamefly, so it's gotta count. Been loving the hell out of to:let us cling together and vagrant story. I need an equivalent vita game with depth and customization. Preferably a good story. P4g is off the table, already played it. Anything else goes really, but it's gotta have some meat. Any suggestions?

hmm i don't think theres anything like Vagrant Story for Vita, its truly a unique game and one of my favorites.

Disgaea 3 is an srpg though so its similar to Tactics Ogre in that regard, however its story isn't anywhere as good.

I'd still recommended it though.

I can't tell if Vann tier is a good thing or not.
Why is Lightning your avatar if she isn't masterpiece tier?
I really dislike that artstyle

raitoningu herself is masterpiece tier, but we aren't talking about characters, we are talking about the games here ;)

Amano's artwork is timeless imo.

But to each their own.

For those that care (no one?):

Unity's Blog Post:
No dev kit. No NDAs. No fees. No waiting. No hassle. Just register quickly with Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCE) and you too can take games to PlayStation®Vita (PS Vita) with our free PlayStation®Mobile (Unity for PSM) build option!

If you’re not familiar with PSM, it’s a software framework used to provide downloadable content to PS Vita. The huge advantage in deploying to PSM is that there’s no need to acquire a PS Vita Dev Kit and clear all the associated hurdles to deploy to PS Vita.

SCE's Press Release:
Tokyo, April 8, 2014 - Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCE) announced that starting today, it will initiate a public preview of “Unity for PlayStation®Mobile,” a dedicated development environment for PlayStation®Mobile (PSM). Similar to the beta version which has been available to a select number of developers, the public preview of “Unity for PSM” is a fully integrated solution of “Unity” from Unity Technologies, and is optimized for the creation of PSM content for PlayStation®Vita (PS Vita). Furthermore, the “PlayStation®Mobile Developer Program” will expand to an additional 12 countries, and PlayStation®Store (PS Store) for PSM will launch in four new countries. With these expansions, SCE will offer support to a wider range of developers in a total of 32 countries and regions, and deliver new PSM content for PS Vita in 22 countries.

SCE will continue to make improvements to the beta and public preview versions of “Unity for PSM,” and will offer developers an official version of the solution with system enhancements starting this summer. Developers will be able to create PSM content by utilizing “Unity for PSM” without having to pay any extra charges if they already own licenses for the free version of “Unity” or “Unity Pro,” which provide a full professional suite of tools and rendering power. The official “Unity for PSM” removes the need for extensive re-coding, allowing developers to easily port their games created for iPhone, iPad, and Android™ based devices to launch on PSM and deliver their content to PS Vita users worldwide.

The “PSM Developer Program,” which is aimed at providing support to developers creating dedicated content for PSM, will expand to an additional 12 countries starting May 29, 2014. The program will soon be available in Australia, Brazil, Columbia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Peru, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Switzerland, and Thailand. The “PSM Developer Program” has been available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, United Kingdom, and the United States since November 20, 2012, followed by Hong Kong and Taiwan since January 21, 2013, and also Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway and Sweden since December 18, 2013. By offering the program in a total of 32 countries, SCE will provide a wider range of developers the opportunity to bring their content to PSM.
Please refer to the below website for detailed information on this program:
https://psm.playstation.net/portal/

Moreover, in addition to the 18 countries which offer PSM content for Android and PS Vita, PlayStation®Store for PSM will launch in 4 new countries: Austria, India, Poland and Switzerland beginning June 25, 2014
, offering PSM content for PS Vita.

Demon Gaze is pervy?
Hold me!
Nobody should be told to play Mass Effect 1. That's just mean.

What's the problem with ME1? I think it was reaaally good and I played it like last year.

I played the PS2 version, bought a Vita for Golden, still haven't completed Golden, and am still seriously thinking about buying this. I think this is what madness tastes like.

It's the Atlus syndrome. Once you buy their game, you can't help but get it everytime it re-releases.

I like how both DanganRonpa games are cheaper here than the first game is here

If you wanted the publisher the bring it over have some benefits and bring more DanganRonpa related stuff, it was the best option. I need to upload some pics with DR stuff I found the other day in a convention. Thought some people here would like it :)

Is PSM getting better optimization for the Vita? It's good to see Unity support, but having to go through PSM to get it worries me.

I thought PSM was really limited. And the Vita itself has Unity support too. Hope we see some Unity games on it soon.

hmm not sure what to feel about the Unity and PSM announcement
if PSM is going to get better support (full trophies support, scoreboards, etc) then awesome

Played the first two chapters. There are many clunky design decisions in the game but so far I enjoyed the actual gameplay and presentation and I haven't played the series before.
Not seen any touchscreen input so far so I guess it isn't supported.

Still no western announcement for SSD but we had some retail leaks that suggest it will be localized.

I SO Much want this game to be localized , the ART is extremely amazing, i dont care if the game is crap(well actually i might care about that haha)there is a very small chance of localization becouse we are talking about NIS.

PD: the game is in the works for a Vita and PC release , in June comes out for xbox360 thats why the pic is not from the Vita game.

If you liked Deception 3, you'll dig it. Classic gameplay, nice visuals, large amount of content. I think it'll have a permanent place on my memory card.

I was tempted myself until I watched a Youtube video of it in action. I might grab Batman Blackgate just for a portable Batman fix.
