I understand that Okami didn't sell what it should've when it was first released, but over the years it had to have gained enough support. We got the DS sequel, why not another console game. Mirror's Edge is coming back, so is Beyond Good and Evil. Why not Okami.

Pokémon wasn't proposed in 1996. It was first released in February 1996, following a slight delay that pushed it out of the 1995 calendar year. It was proposed before then.

But Digimon came from Tamagotchi (Tamagotchi is girl's toys as to Digimon is to boy's toys). If you're gonna compare the two, use Tamagotchi.
