Can't complain about the Lucatiel buff. Even with the Red Eye Ring, sometimes the bosses just go "Oh wait, you're gunning for Lucatiel's questline aren't you? WELL FUCK YOU BUDDY."

Also, do people really have that many issues with spider beam? It's not that difficult to avoid. I always thought that boss was one of the easier bosses.

I know, right? I got killed by it one time and then never again. Then probably half the time I summoned help or helped someone else the person I was with would get smoked by the beam.

Poor pyromancy, it was nice knowing you, although you completely deserve it.

The spider is very easy to avoid and there is a huge tell for it. Maybe it's the distraction from small spiders that causes the problems. Technically, it was not a difficult boss.

Not quite full blown casual, but certainly full blown casul.

Still a great game :P

That was my most frustrating trophy by far, especially given how often she would decide to just kill herself on the way to the boss door (even with all enemies cleared and I went back just for her). Then if we do finally make it, she just jumps onto the boss' sword, wheeeeee!

NG+ is the difficulty old school fans will enjoy. NG was definitely made for newer players.

I don't think it was completely made for new players, but they did modernize some aspects

I just ascetic the Black Gulch bonfire with the red eye ring and it worked out. Wasn't too bad.

Haha, most definitely. I don't really like some of these changes but I tend to not let this kind of stuff bother me too much. I keep trying to start and/or finish other games but I just keep thinking about starting that NG+ run...

200 hours is quickly approaching and there is still a lot of stuff I want to do. It's a fantastic game. FROM truly gives you a lot of bang for the buck.

The only thing that sucked about the spider beam is when you get summoned for that fight and the host runs to the back edge while you're doing your thing killing the small spiders... and thus the host has triggered the killer beam while you're looking the other way, usually getting ohko'ed in the process.

Solo, when only your range against the boss is what matters, it was not a problem at all. But I ran 30+ co-ops against her and yeah, dumb hosts got me killed repeatedly.

Or use NPC summon cuz he'll run right up to it's face which makes attack the second head feasible.

Holy Water Urns did good damage against him? I'm gonna try killing him again in NG+. Maybe I'll stick up on 99 before that happens.
They were doing 143 damage compared to witching urns which did about 35 - so not huge damage, but better than other consumables. I wasn't doing much more than that with a one handed swing.

Played around with the King's Ultra Greatsword for some PVP. Managed to win one Blue Sentinel sparring match while naked with it.

Wearing my normal armor (Bandit torso, Desert Sorceress skirt, Drangleic Gloves, Vengarl Helmet) plus the Tower Greatshield and the sword was putting me at 109 percent equip load.

I had to go full on naked and two-handed my Zweihander to get good damage on him. Gave up using a shield.

Best part of NG+ is the first time you do it you are so sure of enemy placement that you might be a little too complacent with strolling through that 2 or even 3 phantoms appear and all of a sudden you're in a corner. Without a doubt a superior NG+ compared to DS.

It's an improvement. NG+ in Demon's and DkS1 was the same ol. This mode actually scares the shit outta me at times, lol

I think it's great that they essentially took the Demon's Souls concept of black world tendency, and made that the basis for NG+.

I was pleasantly surprised when I loaded up a new journey, and suddenly
there are falconeers attacking me in the first room that weren't there before

Is there any change from NG+ to NG++ and so on? Would be pretty neat to see exclusive items and enemies that can only be found in NG+++++++++.

Re: Vendrick, I used a club +10 at 50 strength and four giant souls in inventory and was doing 160 base dmg per one handed strong attack, 193 if it was close enough to a swing to count as a counter attack, and I could get two to three hits in per attack phase depending on what he was up to. Using charcoal pine resin got the damage into the mid 200's. I had a hard time with this fight because I kept rolling too early and I have only 4 adp so precision was important. I wore only my grwym gloves and had my weight down to 15% or so.

I don't care if other folks had an easy time of it, he kicked my ass so many times that when I won I was feeling the thrill of victory even a couple hours later.

There is some items you can only get in NG++ as opposed to NG or NG+

There's a AHHH moment in NG+ I won't spoil and it has nothing to do with Dark Spirits. Let me know when you encounter it, muhahaha

Don't forget that
bosses
change as well. Now that is cool. Added enemies or even locations, ohhh and certain souls only in NG+.

I completed NG+ today and
did I read right that the ending was supposed to be different? It was exactly same for me. It's a shame there is no choice to be made like in the previous games.

I tried naked too, it didn't seem to make much difference but I've got base ADP which I think is 4 on a cleric. I still haven't played with ADP because it seems like a big stat investment.

My STR build escaped the worst of the nerfs. He uses some overpowered pyromancy, but I plan to boost his faith over the course of NG+ anyway, so the attunement slots won't be wasted.

I am sad that I will miss out on the original difficulty of some NG+ boss fights.

The boss tweaks are pretty pointless in that what needed a nerf (the additional enemies tossed at you for no reason in some encounters) are mostly unchanged. :s

This makes me happy. They could have had only these changes and I would have been fine with it all.

I did, that thing one hits me, and hit me when i thought I was WELL out of the way.

Increase in durability on Twin Blade Weapon / Decreased their durability degradation.
Moonlight Greatsword can no longer be enchanted and buffed. Attack animation has been slowed / adjusted.
Reduced damage from the Ring of Thorns.
Reduced damage from the Ring of the Old Sun
Damage will not decrease for every enemy that Soul Spear pieces trough.
Increase in casting time and decrease of damage for Soul Greatsword
Upward adjustment of the bullet speed "lump of Seoul to be tracked" magic "crystal mass of Seoul to be tracked", and a lower adjustment of stamina take the amount of darkness surgery "those who follow" (Unsure of the horrible Google Translate)
The downward adjustment of the amount of damage "torrent of Seoul" magic (I'm guessing a nerf in Soul Geyser or Soul Vortex)
Casting speed on recovery spells being lengthened.
Increased casting time and decreased damage for Wrath of Gods
Decrease in damage and increase in casting time for all Fire Storm-esque pyromancies. Might also include a decrease in damage for Forbidden Sun.
Increased defense for Lucatiel, Benhart, and Manscorpion Tark (one other NPC mentioned).

I can understand MLGS getting nerfed but why Soul Greatsword and Soul Vortex/or Soul Geyser? Soul Vortex and Soul Geyser did a lot of damage but you only get like one of Soul Geyser unless you really go out of your way to get more and Soul Vortex casting speed is slow enough for some bosses to punish you unless you're patient enough. :/ And why is Soul Greatsword getting an increased in both casting time (I assume that mean it takes longer to cast it) and a nerfed in damage? It was already slow enough and the damage wasn't fantastic considering you only get three of them originally. At least the homing soulmasses are getting buffed...I think. Unless I'm reading that wrong? Sorceries really does not need to be nerfed except for like one or two things. They're not insanely powerful as some people think they are.

I appreciate the wrath of god nerf though. My friend one-shotted so many people with that. idk about the pyromancies but I hear they were insanely powerful in PVE. I also like the ring nerfs (though where is the ring of life protection nerf?) and the twinblade buff. I don't mind the bosses nerf either, it'll make NG+ Lost Sinner less of a annoyance. The NPCs buff is also good to hear, they were way too frail to be worth summoning.

People who summon but don't wait before engaging the boss are annoying as fuck. Even more annoying is when you finally load and OH LOL THEY'RE DEAD

I expected more. Its basically the same as DS1 but with some trollish phantoms scattered around. Its more annoying than harder.
I didnt like Sinner and Sentry to have adds. I usually dislike boss fights that requires adds to up the difficulty.

Nah.

There's a slight difference on how Nashandra appears if you beat the Throne Watcher/Defender when you have the Giant Kinship or not (she will be inside the room if not, else, she will walk in from where you came in), but the ending itself is the same. Only ending unless someone discovers a big secret, which I am not holding my breath for.

Royal Rat Authority needs to be hit with a nerf nuke. Motherfucker can paw me twice and kill me, and there is no escaping him.

I can see why they nerfed forbidden sun a little. I've killed a few people by just hitting them twice with it. Sometimes even 1 time

I'm trying the Ancient Dragon, my first time I got him down to about 60% HP doing great until - uh oh - I'm right on the edge, he's close and facing me and decides to fly up for his fire breath, so now what?

I'm using the method where you stay in front of him to see if he's going to fly up or not. Well that goes fine until you've ran to the edge then you don't have time to run away if he flies up. I think I might need more stamina too, since running back to attack his feet takes 90% of my stamina. I was going to respec to INT/FTH to check out the hexes, but might need to just do some sort of HP/Stamina build just purely for this(!)

This is what I did, and as long as you never drop the pattern, you should never end up near the edge with nowhere to run:

Yeah, the key is to always make him rotate in the same direction. If you are going to attack the right side stick with the right side. If you want to do the left stay on the left. As soon as you start trying to do both you run the risk of ending up on the edge with nowhere to run.

I defeated him naked with 1500 hp and 125 stamina. It's about 2-3 hits and then getting ready to run a great distance. You can run at an angle away from him to constantly give yourself plenty of space between you two and never back yourself into a corner. It took me 14 tries before I figured out the best run away patter. Even with only 125 stamina I never used it all to run away only about 3/4ths of it to get a good distance. Never just run straight behind or straight in front up but sort of a north west, north east type of angle depending on your direction.

There isn't really a reward for it. Specific torches have impacts on NPCs or areas, but other than that, they just seem to be holdovers from when lighting was supposed to play a big part in navigating areas.

Haha, damn-it just seems like something that some players might do the arduous task of doing...even something mundane like an achievement would be nice for the more hardcore players IMO. Oh well-I was definitely not committed enough to light every one Lol.
