Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 6: Final Destination confirmed for not fun

So, I noticed something odd watching the direct.
You know the symbols, like the triforce for Zelda and the Mushroom for Mario? Well, two things during the assist trophy portion:
1) The Wario symbol was used for Waluigi and Ashley. I'm taking that as a Wario confirmation (as if there was any doubt).
2) The Smash Bros. symbol is used for all characters from series not in Smash (Dr. Wright, the Sin & Punishment person)...except for the Nintendog. Kinda wonder why that is.

Because Nintendo dog have it's own stage.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH! now I have to work on my list again LOL

Thank you!! *o*

Does someone know what the pixelated, yellow flag with the "S" is?

Rally X. Awesome game :)

I wonder how many characters the starting roster will end up having. I doubt Sakurai will showthe secret characters on Miiverse before the game releases so there may not be many reveals left.

What does this do

For example, splitting the pairings up is a very smart way to hone each character's moveset and playstyle while adding another move to their repertoire. If you're not happy with 2 Zelda's and Samus's, can I ask what you think of the whole Link/Toon Link situation?

It's more fitting to complain about Mario and Luigi or Fox and Falco before Zelda and Shiek or Samus and ZSS. It doesn't really make any sense at all lol.

I hope Zelda's good in the new Smash. :D

I could never get into Yoshi's moveset. Maybe there will be enough changes in SSB4 to make him viable to me.

As for other characters, I'm REALLY happy about the transformations being gone.

On Zero Suit Samus especially, I think she looks great! I'm all for the "rocket boots" too. Yes, they're a variation of "heels" like we saw in Other M but actually, they seem more like actual footwear to improve performance. You get a little bit of both; the sexiness from high heels but also a level of practicality.

I paid extra attention to Yoshi in the Direct. As far as I can tell, outside of the visual effects of his moves, only two things changed about him:

1) His jab animation is different, but it's still a 2-hit combo.
2) His dash attack is completely different. He does some sort of lunge kick instead of a doing a headbutt like he did in previous games.

He still has all of his specials, and the rest of his moveset appears to be identical to his moveset in Brawl. Of course, there is still the possibility that their properties can change drastically, like down-smash becoming a kill move again.

Eww Stock is terrible and doesn't promote good play at all, it just promotes camping and avoiding battle. Seriously when the goal is just "be the last one standing" why would you ever actively jump into battle? Better to play a fast character with a projectile and just play keep away the whole game letting the other 2-3 players kill each other off. Stock is horrible for 4 players Smash Bros

Stock is better for 1 on 1 though

There's a reason why tourney players use both. Time to force avoiding battle/camping, but stock to still make engaging the other player worth it.

I really hope Nintendo embraces balance patches for this Smash. No matter how hard they try, there's no way they can put out a perfectly balanced game on the first try.

You're right =) I just thought of that first because not only do they share the name Link, but their movesets so far have been nearly identical. I thought I'd ask about something worse, but your question would be a better one

Damn, Sakurai, those trophies you chose <_< Palutena, Ridley's theme, Manakete teases...such a troll. Fi, though? Interesting!

I don't know if this has been mentioned already, but before Brawl was released 25 characters were confirmed I believe. At this point we have 29, hopefully this foreshadows a larger than expected roster...I can dream :p

Looking at the new Final Destination, doesn't it have a Soul Caliber/Soul Edge design? The conflict between blue crystals and red/black organic metal? I guess Bandai-Namco is making at least some mark on Smash Bros.
