Zelda: So, uh, I'm not from this game. What do we do with this mirror?
Adult Link: Beats me, I'm not from here, either.
Toon Link: Yeah I've never even heard of this shit

For people doubting Captain Falcon, Samurai Goroh was shown as a returning AT in the beggining of the video. If for any weird reason they were to remove Falcon as a playable character, they'd surely not keep Goroh as an AT...

Anyway, the Direct was amazing. These games will have so much content, it's almost ridiculous. We'll have like 50 Assist Trophies and like 100 items lol.

I'm glad Mother items are back. Go Ness!

GameXplain has a loooooooooooooooooooooooot of work to do haha

Like... I get that Greninja is a water Pokemon and all, but the fact that his tongue is flopping about every which way and water is spraying everywhere makes it look like he's just drooling all over the place.

That Smash Dash 3DS mode or whatever it is looks awesome, I'm really excited for that. The 3DS and Wii U versions both look so different from each other, I'm definitely getting both.

Posted this on Smashboards, but just in case anyone is interested in Pit;

Upperdash Arm I much prefer over Angel Ring. The super-armour alone makes it great. It could be amazing for a tech-chase too, as it'll soak a get-up attack. I'm happy with new-Pit so far.

I'm not entirely sure what this aerial is replacing. It can either be a new forward air or neutral air.

This is what appears to be his new up-tilt? It's a 2 part attack that behaves similarly. Right after in the Direct he also hits with forward smash, which looks slightly different but behaves the same.

Jab and forward smash was shown in the Direct, so I confidently assume that this is his new forward tilt. It appears much faster and the range is great.

And... I much prefer his new, speedy recovery, even though the loss of glide (and thus glide attack) are a bit upsetting.

I'm watching the 40 min video and this game sounds sublime. As someone that didn't really care for Brawl, the final destination-only for glory online mode is amazing. That's what I want, super competitive SSB without items on a flat stage. If online works properly (not like the shit online play in Brawl), I may have to get a Wii U for this along with the 3DS version.

With all the emphasis on Male/Female Wii Fit Trainer, it sounds like female Villager will not be a thing.
This would be pretty disappointing.

also the 3ds did hold the game back, I was for it but no I wish the version did not exist.
To be honest I would guess that we wouldn't get any Smash at all this Summer if not for the 3DS version. I doubt Nintendo wants SSB competing so directly with Mario Kart 8.

Also it has SSB City Trial which single-handedly validates its existence in my eyes

Proto Man's just a red Mega Man with a shield and 'tude, anyway. At least Elec Man does something different.

Eh, I thought he would've had it since we got Assist Trophies for "rival" characters in the past. (Ex: Shadow) Although, seeing Elec Man show up was a great surprise.

Also, I love and hate the idea of splitting up "team" characters. Love it, because it allows for a larger movepool for characters like Sheik and ZSS, but at the same time I'm upset about what happened to Pokemon Trainer. That character was such a unique and great idea that I'm a bit upset that Red won't appear anymore even if Squirtle and Ivysaur become their own characters. Now I have them to worry about in addition to Mewtwo, Ivysaur moreso since he was my favorite of Red's three combatants.

Also very happy to see this looking much faster paced than Brawl. Good show, very excited for both this & Mario Kart months apart from each other.

I'm sure I will enjoy the 3DS version, but part of me feels like it will just be my preview of the Wii U version.

Yup it's effectively gonna be an extended demo. If I had bought both together I wouldn't really know when to play one or the other, now it's thankfully a no brainer, a clear transition from one to the next. I really hope they're developing the Wii U one with the expectation that people will have played the 3DS one ahead of time, and building on that experience. 3DS training you for the Real Deal on the Wu.
