Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 6: Final Destination confirmed for not fun

I've blown mine plenty of times today.

I was more referring to the height difference, but yeah, that too.

Here's another picture that stood out to me:

OK, Sakurai has to know about the evil Villager meme. I refuse to believe otherwise.

Someone PLEASE photoshop "murder" or "kill" or "smash" over every number on that clock face. I have no skills this deserves better than the hack-job I'd pull in paint.

Understandable. It is 1GB big. Hell, I had to stop posting screenshots on my twitter out of fear it'd be considered spam due to the high amount of Pokémon related ones

Anyone have this version? The one provided by BigEvilTurtle (thanks for that, btw!) are compressed to JPG.

This game is 1080p, right?

Yes sir.

Damn Smash Bros, makes me wanna buy a Wii U even though I all ready bought a 3DS only for pokemon (and Fire Emblem) D:. Don't have the money or time for it ><.

So happy at least one of the games is coming out this summer. I was expecting late this year for both.
Oh, which version?

It's cute how some people still think Ridley has a chance.
Ridley's a weird case. We know that Sakurai knows that there is demand for him to be playable, and with that knowledge it doesn't make sense for him to continually tease his existence as merely a boss character. We also know that Sakurai likes to tease us about whether or not a character will be playable when they're highly demanded - see Waluigi's update and Pseudo-Palutena's presentation in the Direct.

With this knowledge, I don't think it would make sense for Sakurai to present Ridley as he did if he was only a boss character - it would effectively create false hype for the final reveal. Sakurai's smarter than to do that - I feel like if Ridley is just a boss and nothing more he would have deconfirmed him in the Direct and been done with the matter, much like he has done for Assist Trophies and the like.

And yet he hasn't, which leads me to one of two conclusions:
1) Because Ridley isn't popular in Japan, Sakurai has vastly underestimated the US demand and thinks that teasing him as a boss is fine. Which seems odd because not only was Ridley already a boss (twice!) in SSBB, but Sakurai put in Little Mac, showing he pays at least some attention to the US audience.
2) There's something else going on here, and Ridley is not just a boss.

Maybe I'm just being a deluded Ridley supporter, but... *shrug*

Sakurai is a troll. He's been really confirmed as both a stage hazard AND a boss. It's very unlikely he'd be a playable character on top of that. I know stage elements that are playable can get replaced (Toon Link), but that's taking it a bit far.

How is that even relevant? Ridley is much more important to the Metroid series than something like Dark Samus ever was.

Dark Samus is the only character with a "fighter's build" in the whole Metroid series that had a shot at being a character. In Sakurai's eyes, Ridley has about as much chance of being playable as Rayquaza

yes

But Black Shadow won't even be a boss :'(

EDIT:

Still I've always seen Ridley as just being a anorexic Charizard with a longer tail and smaller torso anyway.

Hey man, all I'm saying is if Sakurai didn't see him as a giant freakin' dragon, he wouldn't be in the same segment as the Yellow Devil was, even as a shadow.

Am I making any damn sense? Sorry, I think it's finally time for me to hit the hay

Bullshit, I always find the argument that "he's too big" or whatever such a half-assed way to dismiss him, and if that were the case there are plenty of other Hunters and even Adam that could have had a chance from the Metroid universe. At least Adam would even count towards having more importance history wise with Samus, though obscure sure.

You touched on something relevant though, there has been nothing on F-Zero has there? Not even a stage or anything. What the hell man?!

Samurai Goroh is an Assist Trophy again, confirmed in the Direct. F-Zero stuff will come in time - Capt. Falcon's probably just unlockable again.

SO HYPE
That was so awesome!
I hope 3DS version will release before GamesCom (:

Also: Can I claim the Bulborb avatar (if there's going to be one for the Smash Run Enemy)?

Kinda sad the days of F-Zero and Star Fox alike seem to be long over-- unlikely at this point I'll ever get my top two desired

1. Black Shadow
2. Krystal

Ha, I gave up too. Implement the arrow keys, damn!

It's not unthinkable that Pokémon could have eight reps:

- Pikachu
- Jigglypuff
- Squirtle
- Ivysaur
- Charizard
- Mewtwo
- Lucario
- Greninja

Reasons:

- Sakurai didn't specifically state that Squirtle and Ivysaur are gone.
- Squirtle and Ivysaur are unique and already designed.
- Pokémon is one of Nintendo's best-selling franchises and has 720+ characters -- might as well have eight reps.
Still, eight characters seems like a lot. That's even more than Mario. I hope you're right though.
