Oh psssh, DK maybe, but Yoshi and Wario are straight up Mario characters, forget your Islands and Wares. And Pokemon is still heee-uge. They won't cut anybody. They won't add Krystal. That is all.
 
Heels & a chest = Bayonetta now? Geeze. People are even saying she has a "big booty" when its actually quite normal... I feel like people are seriously over reacting to ZSS's new look in smash. Its cool if you don't like the style but just saying you don't like it is more than enough. No reason to call it ridiculous as if there is some established staple to exactly what shoes she should have or how her body should be proportioned.

I am for one excited for her being separate from regular Samus. The idea of characters turning into others don't usually work super well in these kinds of fighting games. Its better to just let them be split and have full move sets =) If we can get Palutena as well as one of the female chars from Fire Emblem Awakening I will be extremely satisfied.

After I finally let go of my hopes for her since I THOUGHT she was being revealed as an assist... (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻

I don't mind her proportions, but I find those glowing yellow heels really jarring. They could have at least picked a better color for it.

So winter it is.

3DS version will help while waiting I guess. But I can't imagine playing Smash without proper analog. 3DS's stick (or "circle pad" or whatever it is called) isn't the best thing...

I'm thinking we're pretty close to having all the revealed characters, and everyone else will be unlockable.

We'll probably get Wario for Mario Kart, Ness, Falco, and maybe one of the retro characters (Ice Climbers, Game & Watch, ROB) plus some newcomers at E3 (Pac-Man, Mii), but everyone else seems like unlockable material.

If Snake's in I would assume he'd be announced before hand because Konami would want him promoted.

So Meta Knight, Ike, Ganondorf, Jigglypuff, Captain Falcon, Lucas, Wolf and Mewtwo plus whatever newcomers (Palutena, Dixie Kong, Shulk) as unlockables.
 
With all these screenshots and such, Ice Climbers and Ness are basically confirmed at this point if anyone had any doubts. King K. Rool also seems likely with the Kremlings.

The amount of items in this game is insane. Brawl had 51 items, and here we are still a ways from release and we already have 74 items confirmed. And we're still aways from release. That's insane, and only one item (Flipper) de-confirmed. and the only items from Brawl which haven't been shown yet are:

-Barrel Cannon
-Cracker Launcher
-Dragoon
-Fan
-Invisible Cloak Device
-Party Ball
-Red Shell

So basically almost all the items from Brawl are back, and then some.
 
As someone who played as a lot of ZSS and Olimar, all those changes are just fucking gravy to me.

Olimar's pluck seems to be much quicker now too, and a real air recovery is a godsend.

When Sticky Web is on everyone like Stealth Rocks and ruins nearly a third of the types in the game, I will consider it.

Is he? Did they SHOW him as a stage hazard boss? No.

Sakura implied that he was, but we know that he loves to troll. He also said that Zero Suit Samus wasn't in before pulling a 'just kidding', and the Froakie reveal was clearly trying to trick us into thinking it was Mewtwo as well. If Ridley was actually a boss, I think they would actually show it rather than just tease us with the shadow.

I'm even more confident Ridley is in after this direct, and will be revealed at e3.
 
It's probably already been speculated but is it possible that the shadow was not Ridley?

I don't see why Sakurai would be vague about Ridley when he was very upfront with fan favorites like Waluigi not getting playable status.

Man, there have been so many CG trailers for this game.
I wonder if they'll do another "epic" styled trailer for the commercials.

The Megaman Reveal and Charizard vs Mario thing would instantly get the attention of a random person watching TV I think. I almost think the commercial shouldn't show much gameplay until the end, or none at all.... :)

Just do another "epic" trailer for the commercial that makes it look better than it is.

Ex of commercial looking better than game:I really liked how the Sticker Star commercial looked. Bad game, great commercial.

You know how youtube video downsamples 60 fps videos into 30 fps when you upload them? Is there a way to access the raw video in its original 60 fps?

I want to see how the came looks in its true form. Youtube vids are severely misleading.
 
The shadow was Ridley. Ridley is a boss in the Pyrosphere stage. Rip that band-aid off now, you'll thank me later.

The thing is Ridley has so many forms it could be a troll of all trolls.

In the Metroid continuity, there are technically three Ridleys. I'm not saying Ridley will be playable, but Ridley was cloned in the series, so the Other M Ridley wasn't actually the popular Ridley, as the Ridley in Other M was a clone of Ridley that the people on the bottle ship made from DNA they found on Samus's suit after she killed Ridley in Super Metroid. His various forms include things like Omega Ridley, Neo Ridley, Mecha Ridley, etc.

Then in Metroid Fusion there was another clone of Ridley. I have my doubts of him being playable, but if they want to go super troll, technically the Ridley in Other M is different than the Ridley from Metroid to Super Metroid, who also appeared in the Prime games.

Or the shadow could be Mecha Ridley, or hell, Omega Ridley. You could read really deep into this, or none of this matters at all.

I am so confident that Ridley is going to be a playable character now that I'd be willing to avatar bet on it. Before this direct I wasn't confident at all, but if Ridley was indeed a Boss character, Sakurai would have shown us.

Second thought, you might be right. After all, he did crush the Waluigi dreams with a single blow. Why would he be indefinite on this, especially when (as we've seen) it just causes people to believe in Ridley even more? I take it back. I'll reserve judgement for now.

EDIT: Also, the f*cking plushie on the keyboard. He didn't just crush that dream; he reveled in the dismay.

I changed my mind, the dude does everything on purpose.

Ridley´s shadow, "I´m still alive", the various "directly to yoooooo....nah !", "Zero Suit Samus is gone....Here she is !!!"

Great ! This was one of the most entertaining directs, on par with "Miyamoto and Iwata explore the Louvre " .

The Fake Palutena one was also great. I also thought that people exaggerated but he's really trolling everyone all the time.
