lol, I guess I'm in the minority here

luck plays a part of course because of random note spawn, but most of the time (so far) the trick seems to be learning to move around quickly in the level which is all skill-based.
 
Picked up Silent Hill BoM in the sale. I know it's not a traditional Silent Hill game, but having played every entry in the series so far (except Shattered Memories), I couldn't resist.

Played through the first zone on the train this morning, and after getting through the awful character selection screen (where you choose Jock, Goth, Bookworm or Rocker - really?), I found it was pretty solid. I know that it won't have much depth to it, but for the sake of something to play on the way to work, it's pretty good so far, and seems perfect for bite size gaming. It's not out and out Silent Hill, but there's enough Silent Hill stuff in there to keep me interested.

Took ages to download. I think over an hour. I remember PSN download times being total dogshit when I had my PS3 in 2008/09...it seems that not much has changed.

I'm not sure what was going on with my youtube app yesterday on the wii-u it was randomly changing a volume setting that I didnt even know about. Maybe related?

thats exactly what was happening to me.

I deleted and redownloaded the app and it seems to be working fine know. Try that out and see if it works.
 
Book of Memories is fine for what it is, the patch fixed a lot of things wrong with it (unfair traps) but don't go in expecting a story driven adventure - take it for what it is, a dungeon crawler with a Silent Hill decoration.
 
First impression of valkyria chronicles 2: this is really goddamn anime. More so than the first one.

Still one of the most fun SRPGs systems I've played with though. So I'm glad.

Also glad that PSP games don't look that terrible on the vita screen.

Anyways,

I have a 32GB MC that I don't use... if you switch MC all your bubble arrangements/wallpaper resets, right? Gosh what a pain in the arse.
 
Anyone have any impressions for Obscure: The Aftermath for the PSP? It looks like it's playable on Vita and it's a co-op survival horror game? From what I've seen the voice acting is pretty goofy but aside from that, it seems decent?

Very good looking for a PSP game.

Serviceable gameplay wise, although the AI companion is terrible ://///

Also, IIRC, the coop is ad-hoc only.

That's one of most overblown aspects of the game on GAF.
I've only repeated maybe 10 or 15 missions during entire game to get missing stuff for promotion.

Basicaly VC2 was so easy that advanced specialisations were almost not needed to get A ranks in all missions.

Well, maybe I was just being unlucky, I had a bad experience with it and it really soured me on the game, especially when VC1 didn't have that issue.

You are correct that VC2 was easy though.

Huh, that does sound worrying. Dunno if I should worry though because VC is just so easy to break.

Also avan is totally the guy that keeps posting those inspirational quotes onto your facebook wall.

The story... it tries to be both funny and serious at the same time but in the end, imo, it fails to achieve anything. Well, it's b-movie material, if you want to talk about its quality.

Well, maybe you'll get lucky. And it's only very annoying if you like, chasing 100% of all the stuff anyways.

And yes, Avan is such a troperrific shounen lead.
 
The way they dealt with that franchise made me really sad. :(

edit: wait, VC2 don't have a sniper class? Noooooooooo.

One of my favourite classes in VC1. :(

What? Snipers are there.

You have to upgrade each character separately though, which is annoying and time consuming, especially due to those damn certificates.

Alice and crossbuy PSASBR are on sale too? Guess I'm holding off RCR again.

Not sure if I should get Dustforce. I definitely want to, but I heard about frame rate problems...also, Crapcom.

I agree that it was really annoying. Somehow my most used characters rarely got the promotional items but random dudes x who I used only once got it on the first try... argh.
 
VC2 is the perfect example of where the philosophy of "less is more" would have improved it no end. So many ridiculously easy filler missions! But there is the occasional good one to make it all worthwhile. And at the end of the day, it's more VC.

You can ignore any mission that isn't marked as story mission.

EA holds some kind of exclusive license in Germany that prevents Sega from releasing the Football Manager series in Germany. EA used to develop their own football manager game called Fußball Manager/Fifa Manager. This years version was just a legacy edition though and they have announced that they are stopping the development of football management games.

So in the end, Germany doesn't get any football managing game, all thanks to EA and their scummy tactics.
This game could even push the Vita a little bit in Germany, one of the biggest markets for football games. Sadly, it won't be able to.
