Off the top of my head there were
Velstedt, Lost Sinner, Ornsein MKII, Dragon Rider, Mirror Knight, those two guys by the queen in the castle, Throne Watcher and Throne Defender, Pursuer
. Am I missing any?

It seemed like Dark Souls had a lot more vareity. Only
Ornstein and Smough, Artorias, and the last boss if you count him
are popping up at the moment.

Just execute a mid-air attack and you won't roll after landing. :)

Asylum Demon, Gargoyles, Taurus Demon, Fire Drake, Capra Demon, Gaping Dragon, Hydra (x2), Quelaag, Ceaseless Discharge, Flame Centipede, Bed of Chaos, ‎Crossbreed Priscilla, Pinwheel, Gravelord Nito, Seath the Scaless, Great Wolf Sif, Four Kings, Kalameet, Sanctuary Guardians. Also Gywndolin, Demon Firesage, Iron Golem, & Moonlight Butterfly.

Think how garbage some of those bosses were.
Taurus Demon is great in the moment, but then you fight him as a regular enemy later in a boring level, ditto for Capra Demon

Ceaseless discharge, Flame Centipede, and Bed of chaos were all gimmick fights with terrible hitboxes and randomess thrown in
 
Oh absolutely. All of the Demon Ruins / Lost Izalith fights were pure garbage mechanics wise. I'm just pointing out the non-humanoid boss designs. They were pretty interesting design wise even if they ended up being shit-fests to play.

I hear ya. I have like 2 600 000 SM and still SL28 but I'm seeing less and less of the online activity aside from people who invade me with SL>150 characters.
I really hate this aspect of the game.
It's funny how they made some effort to improve the online experience only to sabotage it with this SM bullshit.

That doesn't lower your SM though. Your SM goes up as soon as you get souls, not when spent sadly.

You are SL 28??? Going for a low level run? Or did you mean SL 128?

But yeah, SM sucks ass. I'm someone who did co-op a lot in NG, and in NG+ too. So I ended up getting it to high to where I barely saw people. I'ts now at like 30M. Though I heard for co-op/etc it caps out at like 14M or so, no idea if true or not.

last night and yeah, fuck that place. At least I can say I did it pre nerf lol. Went through a couple hundred poison arrows, but it worked. First time through I was getting through at a decent pace and then after clearing a section i got cocky and sprinted right into an underwater abyss... Of course after that it was all downhill and it just became tedious and annoying. Shame because it was one of the coolest looking areas. Hopefully I'll have everything finished up by the weekend so I can move on to NG+

They nerfed Amana? Why? You just plink a few arrows off and ta-da it's freakin' easy.
 
I think DaSII bosses make more sense regarding the curse of the undead, humans go hollow, powerful hollows became bosses, something like that, others are just undeads perhaps, like
dragonriders
and
old dragonslayer

I know some bosses in DaS are humanoids transformed beyond recognition, that only apply to a few in this game, I am totally ok with that, since you can tell who are supposed to be the stronger enemy and such

Yeah I'm SL28 and this is my first run. Only what I assume to be the last area remains.
I already beat Demon's and Dark Souls at base SL multiple times so I'm used to that but the fact of being invaded by players who are way higher level than you and you can't be summoned/summon help sucks.

In the corridor that becomes accessible after opening the wall (press X or Xbox equivalent, don't hit) there is another illusory wall. After that, there's a jump to a piece of loot.

From there, there's a small ridge that runs along a few buildings, and will eventually take you to the loot you're after

as far as I'm concerned, Capra and Taurus count as "humanoid with weapons" fights. They are both mostly interesting due to arena and/or aggressiveness. (Capra is high up on my list of favorite fights across all Souls games, and it's a great design, but it's still effectively a funny looking knight with big weapons.) Gywndolin, Crossbreed Priscilla, and Pinwheel are also humanoids who do interesting things or just fight at range. Four Kings and Nito as well.

Impressive. I really went to the other extreme with SL 200 by time I beat the game. lol.

how? Everyone dodges or blocks everything I throw. Every GSR i throw is dodged orblocked. I constantly get destroyed in pvp, it's not evena fair fight. Dark Orb is useless, Dark Hail is usless, GSR is useless. You have to be super lucky to get any kills in PVP with hex.

I haven't played as a hexer yet so I don't have any insight into how to play as one, but I've been destroyed by a couple in PvP. If I dodge properly, it's not a problem but if I get hit, boom, dead. I think that's the risk/reward structure of hexing; if you miss you're screwed, but it only takes a couple hits to kill.

Yeah, probably that's why. There was no middle ground. Either it was insanely difficult or uber easy. A better difficulty will make the area more enjoyable, probably like what From intended.

Well then i guess I just suck. I can't ever hit anyone and if I do it doesn't really slow them down. I can't ever hit anyone in pvp, ever. Not once have I killed someone in PVP.

Yeah, I was *almost* able to do it pure melee, but couldn't, got frustrated and started just hiding behind columns and lightning spearing stuff via binoculars... with just a little nerfing to casting speed and/or damage, it'd be a fun challenge.
 
Hex mages are useless in PVP. 20 matches, and not once have I even hurt anyone. If they get close to me they kill me too fast. How the fuck are hexers supposed to do anything when our attacks are stupidly slow and dodged? By the time I even get good gear, everyone will way OP.

Well, I have melee options and often bait people into getting hit. Just can't make it obvious that the hex is coming next.
 
Speaking of bosses, I wish there was an arena that gave a vibe similar to the Four Kings fight. That was just incredible the first time around.

As far as atmosphere in II's boss fights I think I liked the Vendrick fight the best.
The music combined with the state you find him and the area leading up to him made for a really moody scene.

Really ? I usually destroyed people with hexes in PVP when I did Bellfry duty.
it's very important to get high cast speed so level up that attunement, equip the Lion Set armour and get the clear bluestone ring +2.. Should at least get 200 cast speed imo.. I'm at 316 atm.
Don't forget to max a Sun Staff to +5 and a Caithas Chime to +10 and infuse them with dark.

Some decent gear, high cast speed and you'll be wrecking people"s shit in no time
 
The bosses in DkS2 are really weak in my opinion. I remember reaching Demon of song and thinking finally a cool looking boss.

Too many of them feel like jacked up normal enemies with real basic patterns and I too would have liked a few more intros.

I guess pursuer, lost sinner, velstadt, demon of song and freja are the ones I enjoy in some sense. Old dragonslayer is a pretty fun fight also.

I'm a fan of using Lifedrain Patch and then firing GRS through it. Catches a lot of people.

I've got high cast speed, but, people still destroy me in PVP. By the time I even get that gear people are just going to be so OP they'll 1 shot me with ease.
 
haven't try an infused weapon, my build is melee, with 40 Str and 30ish Dex, I was using a +10 Bastard Sword but then I changed to Drangleic Sword + 5 (my pvp main weapon), and from time to time I use Pursuer Greatsword + 5 for pvp, I want to infuse a Mastodon Greatsword instead of the other ones, but I don't know if it's better to infuse the ones that I have already, advice on this would be really useful!

I can kill people with one hit of great resonant soul and I have 26 of them... Yeah, hexes are pretty good in PVP. Of course they can be rolled through; if they couldn't they'd be completely broken. They're still a bit harder to dodge than spells in DS1 PVP were. You can shorten spell casting time with the Clear bluestone ring and the lion mage set.

Great Resonant Soul also makes many bosses a joke. Scraps of Life is great as well. Hexes balance comes with the really high stat requirements. They don't really come into their own until you have the stats and the right chime/staff upgrades.

We can safely take Sinner off that list. Not armored or a knight, as far as we know.

But that's 7 out of about 30 bosses. In a time where knights were a thing.

Yes, I enjoyed that, while not entirely surprising to find him in that broken state, it was still al little jarring, combined with the music it was really well done.

I enjoyed the fight but when it was over my main thought was, "where was his buddy?" Dark Souls I used him much more effectively.

Lightning seems to be your best bet I think get it to +10 and go from there with whichever great sword you want it on. I'd pick a bastard or claymore myself.

Exactly. These guys were all different, and provided very different kinds of battles. No one can tell me Looking Glass/Mirror Knight's battle was anything like The Pursuer, or Ruin Sentinels.
 
I just started to pump my faith up to add some flexibility to my mainly melee character. What chime is recommend for mostly miracles? I got the idol one from the woman in Majula. Should I use that or is there a better one because that seems pretty good. Also is it best to infuse chimes for miracles with lightning or just normal upgrade path? My main weapon is lighting infused currently

It's set during a time and world where there were more unnatural and demonic forces to deal with. I get what your saying but it would have been nice to have a little more then just humanoid sword wielding enemies. Felt like their were too many.

I believe Dragon Chime is the best end game one for lightning. You want to infuse a chime with lightning if you're doing lightning, or dark if you're doing hexes
