Lost Sinner in NG+ is the best boss in the game.

Shit gets super chaotic easily. It's sad they are nerfing it.

Getting summoned for it by people who haven't
done the Gargoyle fight
never gets old.

Get a bow+plus Gavlan=you wheelin and dealing them straight to heaven. By that I mean poison arrows, and that whole area becomes simply annoying not hard.

Bow and poison arrows or Rebel Greatshield and Greatsword's strong attack in their face.

Rebel Greatshield, mate. I had no bow so I used a raw light crossbow+9 for sniping, but you can run towards them with that shield up and smash their heads in. Watch out for the bleeding critters and Archdrake assholes then though.

Thank you guys, you saved my life and probably my controller.

I pulled off a win against the Lost Sinner NG+ with one real-world dude the other night. He clearly new what was up with that fight and did a pretty amazing job tanking LS while I took out the two Pyromancers. Got hairy a few times, but man, we were clicking in that fight right from the start. Love it when a summon knows what's up.

Granted, I also had a fight against NG+ Smelter Demon where my summon literally died in the first 10 seconds. :\

Also, finally got the chaos blade and want to reinforce it, but totally ran out of Petrified Dragon Scales. Do they drop from any enemies, and if they do, what's the drop rate? Common, not so common, agonizingly rare?

Kind patrons of GAF I'm probably not in the right place for this but I am desperate. I can only play this game for a short amount of time and want to finish my dual Avelyn mundane build. I will trade 20 human effigies and the kings crown for your Avelyn.

Add me on PS3: McNoobsworth

Cheers!

Why not just use an ascetic in the undead crypt and grab it again ;)

What's your Soul memory? Could help if it's over 2M and you're in NG+

Wait... can players with SL that high invade you with SL28? Seriously? Why they cap co-op but leave invasions like this?

I thought invasions worked the same way as summoning.

I don't know how that works but all the invaders I asked lately were higher than SL150.
At SL28 I'm getting invaded very often by over leveled players but I don't see any summon sign and I don't get summoned when I lay down my SS.
I'm currently in [end game location]
the Dragon Shrine

Beat
Nashandra
with the help of two phantoms. Is that boss just much more ranged-friendly or am I missing something as melee?

Beam is easy to avoid as ranged, but the melee swings take so much life and stamina...

Got me. As a melee she seemed really easy too. Completely ignored the balls and just ate curse while attacking. Did the same dodging though attacks as just about every other boss. Think only thing that really hit me was some short range aoe but that might even be me thinking of a different fight.

Hmm. I better practice some rolling then. I'm getting too comfortable behind that sunbro shield.

Nashandra
was super easy on NG I found. Took her down with like 4 or 5 Sunlight Spears and was done. With NG+++ level, took me a few tries. Those dark orbs really down your health fast if you don't take them out.

I know V
endrick
is optional now, but I thought he wasn't. I also know his attacks are easily avoidable, but he keeps catching me in his combo. Ugh. So frustrated with the run up to him and then a ridiculously long fight I've lost so many times in a row now.

Probably time to take a step back, but hard not to be stubborn about it.

I tried so many times I made the soldiers guarding him extinct, lol.

But the fight itself is not hard; just stay behind his feet, and then never hit him so much you run out of stamina for rolling.

I ended up just sprinting around the right side of the room and avoiding all the enemies in between. If you time it right, you can get through the fog door with the Halbred Knights even getting a hit in on you right at the door entrance.

Roll twice when he swings sideways

And hit him once don't be greedy :p

ranged makes it easy as hell and if you do close range take pop shots

Not really. You can block it and punish, roll away, hit them out of it. It's so slow and they are making it slower & weaker.
Yep. You need to be super close to use it. So easy to avoid if your paying attention. I only use it as last resort. Works well when they aren't paying attention

Just stay close behind him on the left side and you should be safe from most attacks. He's a pain when he jumps against the wall. Need to dodge roll away from any jumping attacks he does.

Why ismy GSR doing only 600 damage to bosses? Oh yeah GSR is so good! Yeah, it's so super amazing that it does a whooping 600 damage to bosses, and flame swathe does 500 with a +6 pyro glove. Woo fucking hoo! Lucatiel is absolutely and utterly useless. I swear to fucking god, she died right when I finished the boss off. Why is she so useless? Why is Hexing so useless? I thought hexing was supposed to be good, but, it's not. I have a +9 Archdrake Chime, and 30/30 FTH and INT and I hardly do any damage with my chimes. I even infused it with dark and it only upped 100 damage. I don't understand how you people are able to do thousands of damage to bosses with GSR.

I just don't see how it's possible. Unless you people are all on NG+ and have super high stats, I fail to see how hexing is powerful. Unless it was nerfed.
Damaging hexes casted with chimes consume souls, if you have no souls they do very low damage, but, even if it consumes 500 souls per hit, great resonant soul is definitely powerful.

Elajjaz has some funny PVP videos with a hex build: https://www.youtube.com/user/Elajjaz/videos

this guy gave trouble whenever he was too close to a wall, since I could not surround him as easily... plus the Dragonic Guard thing Shield, drop from the guards in the Ancient Dragon area I think, withstanded his strikes and leave enough stamina for a roll, slow fight but oh well

Doesn't absolve the fight's blatant camera issues though.

To this day I have no idea what the centipede demon actually looks like. It's a dark mass of spindly legs that messes around overhead while the camera spazzes out,

Hah, same here. I never seemed to get hit very often and just pressed attack attack attack. No clue what I was doing any of the times I fought it.

I know you pain my friend, said pretty much the exact same thing a few pages back, I refused to quit until he died, even though I was sleep deprived at work the next day. Its always those few seconds when he starts wall humping that it gets tricky and all it takes is on moment of poor camera/poor LoS/loss of attention and your done after what seems like 5 minutes of hitting him with a wet noodle down to his last 5%.

Uh, 600 damage ain't bad... you get way more casts than flame swathe and it's far easier to hit bosses with. There's two chimes better than the one you're using, as well as the abyss ring that adds 20% damage (iirc) to hexes but takes some health for each cast.

But really you're complaining about 600dmg? I found GRS to be useful as hell when it was "only" hitting for 600 too. You're so angry in every post!

Had a fun experience the other day while dispensing justice in Huntsmans Copse.

Invaded a dude and tried to track him down as fast as I could. He runs to the second bonfire and I kill him just as his Sunbro gets summoned.

Invaded again, same dude to my surprise, but this time his Sunbro, also the same dude, shows up right when I do. They're still at the same bonfire so I try and take it slow. They try and plink away with their longbow so I break out my Alonne Greatbow and manage to nail Sunbro. I think this is a good chance to move in for the kill so I go for it, but I end up eating most of a Firestorm. I try to capitalize and take out Sunbro but the world master takes me out.

Invade one last time, and it's them again. This time I wait by the bridge and they come just a little closer. I jump in to fight them both. Sunbro wants to tank while the master pulls out his bow. They both circle me but I'm switching targets between swings to keep them both on their toes. Sunbro loses his nerve and rolls away to heal with around 60% health left so I focus on the world master who has done the same but with less health. I close in and finish him off.

Funny that I got the same guy three times in a row. There's no way I would have beaten them if my stamina hadn't been so high to allow tons of swings before having to recover.

Had a convenant question,
are the dragon head and torso stones from the dragon remanats a one time use or can you use them as much as you want?

Thanks guys! I'm getting mentally prepared for another run. Have been hoarding items and upgrades, probably also time to use them now.

Also I only have 3 of the
Giant Souls
might as well pick up the one in Black Gulch first. Eff the 5th one, I doubt I can manage that.

Or should I? Seems harder than this guy...

I just found out about power stance and dual wielding. I had been toying with dual wielding this entire run and never knew this because I only just meet the requirements on my right hand weapon.

Is there any part of the game that actually teaches you this? I don't think I could have ever found out about this if I didn't look it up online. IIRC the game tutorial only taught you how to two-hand your left hand weapon.

Hmm. I better practice some rolling then. I'm getting too comfortable behind that sunbro shield.

The more agility you have the easier it is to fall back on the previous games strategy of rolling though oncoming attacks. So if you aren't into wasting a bunch of points on adaptability it may be easier to just stay behind the shield. Can either lure her to an open space that doesn't have an orb or kill the orbs by attacking them.
