Wut6. Rosalina (She better not replace Ice Climbers...)
It depends on the scene and how anal they are. The SFxT community banned gems even though the customization only did things like give you +10% damage.Ive never seen much of the STRONG tournament scene in smash but.....would custom moves really be bannable? I dont think so. Adds something new to the competitive mix imo.
That shit was banned in milliseconds.Ive never seen much of the STRONG tournament scene in smash but.....would custom moves really be bannable? I dont think so. Adds something new to the competitive mix imo.

Can't I just say I love all the newcomers?? Too hard to rank, they're all freaking awesome. But if I had to choose one, Mega Man is definitely my favorite, for obvious reasons.
Tournament directors make the bans, but they key in with the community.Which I thought was kind of silly. Well in my honest opinion at least.
I just hope they look into the custom moves before deciding anything......who the hell is in charge of banning these kind of things in the smash community anyways? Cant be that guy in the video only.
@Azure J
Well I guess that menu navigating would be annoying, on the WiiU at least.
I honestly feel like these guys are some of the best compliments to the established veterans ever.
Quick Pokemon Y questions. I just got it yesterday and evolved my Froakie to a Frogadier. I keep hearing about a hidden ability called Protean for when it becomes Greninja. How do get Protean once I evolve my current starting Frogadier to Greninja?
PS I haven't played Pokemon since Game Boy days![]()

Banning it outright is pretty dumb, but the Smash community is also the craziest of all communities when it comes to banning things.
Indeed.
The only one I'm not really excited for is Megaman, but I don't have any previous attachment to the character. That said I'm glad the Megaman fans are being thrown a bone.
You have to catch a Frogadier from the Friend Safari or trade for one.
Hidden abilities aren't available to regular pokemon. They have to be bred from pokemon acquired from special conditions (Friend Safari, now-defunct Dream World)
You can't change a Pokemon's ability - they're set on capture/encounter. If your Froakie/Frogadier didn't have Protean, then your Greninja won't either.
If you want one, there's a post-game facility called the Friend Safari where you can catch Frogadiers with the ability. Or you can trade with someone. Hidden Abilities are only found in certain locations/under certain conditions.

I'm guessing custom movesets will be a side tournament thing-only.

I'd see about trading for it, since there are tons of spare Froakies people would be willing to lend you and you don't get Friend Safari available until you beat the game.Ah shoot. Okay, I'll have to see if I can trade with someone or wait till I get to the Safari Zone since I only have a starter Froakie/Frogadier. Thanks guys!
What Caladrius said. If you want I can give you one from the Friend Safari. I haven't touched my X/Y in a while, but I believe I had a friend with him in their Safari. They start at level 30, so it would only be minor setback.

I'm hoping that custom moves are at least tried out. I mean it's not like we're talking Mario's fireball is now replaced with a falcon punch, or Marth's recovery is replaced with Olimar's. The custom moves are predetermined and a pro fighting game player should be able to adapt if Mario's fireballs stay on the field a bit longer compared to the normal fireball and whatnot.
My two cents
What would you like in return? I don't have much as I just started.
After watching the Tomodachi Life direct, I am suddenly very excited for the stage. I'm just thinking about all of the things that could happen on it @.@, and Mii just became an awesome newcomer in my eyes.
We don't know if they're pre-determined, the DK Side B having armor clip sort of negates the idea that stuff is pre-determined as armor could literally be added via a toggle -- it wouldn't be something that could be an exclusive option to Side B.
If they are pre-determined, yeah it's absolutely okay to try them out but if they're customizable in the same way the stage builder allowed you to make stages with a very limited set of tools then I don't see it being viable for competitive play.
Anything is fine.
It really depends on its implementation and what it allows you to do. Both of which we do not have a grasp of yet, let alone the possibilities.
Ooh, here's an idea: if your dream characters made it in, who would be your primaries, secondaries and tertiaries? You can have one primary, three secondaries and five tertiaries.
Primary: Ganondorf
Secondaries: Greninja, ROB, Pichu Bros.
Tertiaries: Anthony Higgs, Game & Watch, Wii Fit Trainer, Impa, Samus
We really got 2 starters, though. Charizard for fire, and Greninja for water. Greninja is basically replacing Squirtle, and it's a great trade (though Blastoise > all).I love Greninja, and its inclusion is more than welcome. It looks amazing.
However.
It feels... assymetrical. Which isn't a bad thing. But something about one starter making it in over others just feels off, especially when Chespin and Braixen would've worked brilliantly as well. I know Sakurai has axed transformations, but PT was the one character where it was really nice to have cause it felt like actually being a Pokemon Trainer and managing your Pokemon. I would've been okay with getting rid of the stamina thing. But I'm disappointed that Sakurai gave up on PT. I can only hope that Ivysaur and Squirtle make their way back as separate characters.
Regardless, Greninja looks amazing. Looking forward to playing him.
1) Mega Man is definitely the hypest newcomer for me, and as the champion of my all-time favourite series I imagine he'll be the one that I play the most over the game's lifespan, but
2) Little Mac looks fantasticly crunchy. I cannot wait to fling some jump-punches halfway across Final Destination online. I'm betting on Mac being high tier.
3) Greninja. Ninja types are generally pretty fun. ZSS / Shiek / Snake vibes are good vibes. A bit of Metaknight thrown in there too. Who knows, he might be broken!
4) Rosalina. I doubt she'll be any good, but I want someone to make her Stand mechanics work. I can never manage stuff like that, but it'll be interesting to try.
5) Wii Fit Trainer. Kinda basic as a character, not that interesting of a moveset, but solid.
6) Villager. Planting trees, grabbing projectiles, getting gimped while recovering? He doesn't look like my idea of fun. But we'll see. Not every character is for everyone.
