Ward's fight scene was ridiculously well done. This episode and the one before it are easily on the same level of Arrow's best.

Just watched the episode, and yeah I'm pretty impressed with Ward's fight scene in this episode. They're really starting to get the action choreography down.

Gotta say, I really hope they just make Ward be full HYDRA and no "he's doing it for Skye" bullcrap. I mean, we have all the set-up: he killed the innocent guy because he was working for the Clairvoyant the whole time just like Coulson said. He had that conversation with May about how impressed he was at her being able to lie and how he was taught the same thing (which to me shows that he was playing a double agent but didn't know May was reporting to Fury, so he was impressed). And then killing Hand and the others.

I think it's a more interesting twist to make one of your main characters an outright bad guy over having it be orders from Hand/Coulson to infiltrate deeper.

Ward's got issues with his brother/childhood, so I'm thinking that might be brought up again at some point. btw, it stood out to me he didn't say "Hail Hydra" towards the end, so maybe he's gone undercover, and maybe it was planned some time ago, like some kind of Snape-Dumbledore type of misdirection. Hand seems like she'd be willing to die for the cause.

You know how you know this show has turned around with the past couple of episodes?

It's been half a week since the last one aired and this thread is STILL active. Usually it peters out like... 10 minutes after it airs.

I'm pretty sure he's full Hydra.
...or at least I hope they don't back-pedal.

Consider that Garrett apparently ;sent him to Coulson to help smooth out his rough edges; (obviously Garrett allowed Ward to join up with Coulson and co as an insurance policy and to help get closer to understanding Coulson coming back from the dead) and Garrett makes mention of how the Clairvoyant used the mind device to brainwash the flower girl. It is entirely possible he had been using it on Ward at some point to enhance his indoctrination.

It could be that Ward is not so much Hydra as he is a brain washed stooge to Garrett.

Ward being reluctant to enter into a relationship with Skye earlier on was probably also a play at protecting her from himself.

If Hand really is dead, I still don't think Ward is Hydra. I could see her sacrificing herself (along with two others ready to give their life) in order to get Ward in deep undercover.

It would be pretty extreme, but I think it would be quite the angle to take.

Lot of that can be credited to CA2 being absurdly good.

The season isn't over yet.

Mindcontrol would be a stupid plot and undermine the reveal in TWS. I like the idea of Ward as a Hydra agent, it especially makes sense since all the specialist in TWS were for the most part Hydra.

So have we talked about the timeline sync up? I think the rest of the season is will fill us in on the time between the carriers being taken down and the scenes
where Agent 13 is already with the CIA and Hill is interviewing with Stark Industries.

The Hill cameo will probably be before she take a job at Stark.

No one here seriously thinks there won't be a redemption arc for Ward either by the end of this season or more likely by next season? Because it seems so overly obvious there will be.

I really, really hope there isn't because the show needs a good villain and Ward and Garret make great villains. Ward makes for a horrible good guy.

Ward > Triplett

I can see it from both ways.

Honestly though, and I really, REALLY hate myself for saying this (goddamn me and my feels), but I want to see the Skyward shit resolved, whether it ends in a relationship or not. I just want it resolved with some decent if not outright good writing.

Fuck me.

Have her kill him with a Molotov cocktail, thus fulfilling her promise to take him out for a drink.

Sounds pretty apt, actually.

I think they'll have a violent confrontation.

Sort of curious whether they're going to do anything about Coulson and/or Skye and give them super powers. Seems to have been silently pushed aside, but something they could use to close out the season.

I really hope this isn't the case. Ward needs to be 100% evil as far as I'm concerned, and not under some sort of mind control. Anything else will be too contrived, IMO.

What I want is to find out the Ward was only interested in Skye because he wanted her to turn Hydra, and I want her to be the one that kills him. (Ok, fine, this is also pretty contrived but god damn would it be satisfying)

Finally back in the USA and caught up with the latest two episodes (while they're several episodes behind, they're pushing it HARD in New Zealand with special unique commercials with the cast themselves, sweepstakes, and featured stories in their TV guide. Wow. That scene with the Deathlok visual was amazing. But that Winter Soldier tie in, wow. Somehow I just knew the twist with Ward was coming when he was so eager to tag along and a co-worker earlier today said he hated the episode for the twist.

I'm so glad they handled this turn much better than Blacklist which annoyed me enough to quit the show. I seriously seriously doubt Hand and other agents would sacrifice their lives for a cover unless there's some CRAZY trick, but he shot those other agents in the head so I doubt it.

I'm wondering why he suddenly opened to Skye. My initial theory is he does care for her and is going to go through the whole "Join me, it's the right way" shtick (it certainly would match up with the Jessica Drew theories from the early episodes) but I don't knowwww I want to think there's something to it beyond just "I'm evil now Mwhahaha!". I agree with a post above. As cheesy as it sounds, a confrontation between her and Ward would be the best outcome. Will probably lead to her letting him get away.

My own feeling with Ward is that he's a lot like Garret but from another angle. He's not a believer in comic book Hydra ideology, but is a pragmatist. In his case, he actually would be a perfect candidate for being approached by Hydra - worked alone for years, was a stone-cold killer, felt you had to be brutal to get the job done. I suspect they'll play his Hydra loyalty that way. "I saw how vile the world is and had to become a monster to save it."

Hand's [ :( ] speech about how Hydra gets into your confidence pretty much gave away Ward being the traitor. He did everything he could to appeal to the team on an emotional level. It just remains to be seen of his act towards Sky was a sham. It would be kind of amazing of the Jessica Drew idea came true.

I honestly think Jessica Drew is way too big for this show. AoS seems to be condemned to recycle C and D listers nobody cares about (Deathlock may be the biggest character so far... but he's hardly a big, memorable character; he's popular mostly because of his looks, and they fucked that part pretty bad,) in order to save the rest for the movies.

Edit: Killing Hand was such BS move.

Well they still got Gravitron. They could do find with C and D listers, don't have the firepower to take on head liners.

We don't know if she really is dead yet ;)

She's dead dude.

Her character was dead in the comics before AoS even started. She ain't comin back, unless they try some sort of bullshit redemption for Ward.

Yeah I suppose. I really hope Ward isn't infiltrating Hydra or some other rubbish too, but I dunno the show doesn't seem to have the balls to pull something like that.
