Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 6: Final Destination confirmed for not fun

Hey, those reaction videos are gold on YouTube

Those E3 2013 ones are amazing

Megaman reactions are priceless

But this is different. It doesn't look like Dedede's Jet Hammer or Kirby's Hammer Flip.

How can it be different if you can hold B for long time and moving or jumping around? Sakurai implied that he can moving around freely but he haven't said anything about during attacking. We don't know if Greninja can attack during holding B yet.

I instinctively knew that things would be great the moment I saw his reaction to the Spirit Tracks off stage KO.

"That shit is BANNED."

*Fox falls onto the tracks and gets sucked off screen for the KO*

[Laughter Intensifies]

I'm still trying to find that one that was literally a mash up of every reaction in real time as the trailer played. It was in my liked videos list but disappeared from it in one of the Youtube site transitions.

now suffering from hype overload. ruh roh

It's funny, I definitely feel the hype but I'm so calm and actually doing other things in the meantime. I guess the realization that E3 isn't too far off and the Summer 3DS release are helping to stave off the need for more info well.

Yea, it probably can't attack, but it is charging up a disappearing act. Not a hammer.

It is supposed to suddenly disappear when using that move. It can go a further distance if you hold the B button. And you can charge the move AND move freely? That's a lot of stuff for that one move.

I don't have any friends at all in my vicinity. Moving states twice when you are almost 30 makes things tough. Most of my coworkers are women.

That's why I've never wanted to move. Even still, most of my friends are getting too busy with family/work to hang out and game much, if they aren't moving away themselves.

Smashers aren't hard to find though. I don't have many close friends that I've met through Smash, but plenty of acquaintances that are always fun to see. If anyone is lacking people to play, just go on Smashboards/Facebook and check for a local scene. It's not strong every where, but in most US states at least you can probably find very welcoming people/events within an hour. In my area, tournaments usually happen every other weekend (at least during the school season; a little slower in summer/winter breaks).

I did discover though that gamexplain are fucking legit. Good editing, good analysis. Radio voices. Hella good.
GameXplain is superb. The work they do is exhaustive, and they have new content like everyday. I hope they don't tire themselves out. I don't think that will be an issue, though, because their passion is real.

Their videos are a perfect fit for the way Nintendo drips out pre-release content. It helps squeeze out extra enjoyment from those trailers that were agonizingly short. All that pretty much applies doubly for Smash Bros., though it's less needed since all the info is heavily scrutinized so fast any way.

They are ... Ok

Some times they know things,

Sometimes they don't know things and still try to explain. The latter doesn't make sense and gets on nerves.

Greninja is looking to be one of the most mobile characters in Smash. If I understand correctly, Shadow Sneak teleports him farther the longer he charges it... and he can move while charging, allowing him to run away in one direction, and then suddenly warp to the opposite side of the screen in the other direction. Then there's his Up Special (Aqua Jet, Hydro Pump, Surf or Waterfall -- take your pick!), which appears to be a vertical recovery move that can pivot and change directions mid-air... Add to this his Substitute counter, which features the same smoke cloud as Shadow Sneak, and he seems capable of some impressive mind-games. His down aerial (Bounce?) seems to meteor smash enemies into the ground, launching them into the air, while Greninja himself flies upwards (like a footstool jump), continuing the combo mid-air. It seems the focus is on constant movement. I'm loving this character. :-)

They're better than any other single source on the Internet when it comes to analyzing videogame material, especially given the breadth of stuff they cover. The "Aha" moments I have thanks to them far, far, far, FAR outweigh the few times they overlook or misunderstand something.

I know that but my point is the concept is similar when we were talking about holding button concept, even the results shown the difference; disappearance or swinging the hammer.

Maybe it's already been noted, but in this screen:

Look at how Charizard's eyes are still tracking where Greninja was, showing how Greninja duped him. He looks shocked! And note how Greninja, while facing forward, is looking back at Charizard... like a boss. It's amazing how much the dynamic expressions add to the game. :-)

The new characters all have so much more depth than the old ones. It makes me a bit worried for them.

Also:
Greninja For Glory Only!

Indeed. Here are couple of my favorites

This picture made me felt like that they are in RPG where humanoid and knight that joined to aid the princess and traveling over the world to get rid of the evils.

Agreed, I love the expressions in this game.

I'll tell you all what. I'm really, really starting to like Greninja (even if Mewtwo doesn't show up). Normally I'm not a fan of the Pokémon characters, but dang if he doesn't remind me of some sort of Strider Hiryu / Ibuki mix.Just my type of character.

3 of which were bundled together as a single character.

I don't expect Jigglypuff to leave, but I do think it's possible. Only if it's to squeeze Mewtwo in, though.

I'd be surprised if any of the original 12 get cut, Jigglypuff has become part of the franchise even if she's kind of obsolete in her parent franchise. Not saying it won't happen, but I'd be surprised given their track record so far.

He kind reminds me of Guy from SF4.

I have a feeling this is going to be the case for many people, especially people who are indifferent about Pokemon. His fighting style just looks to cool to not at least be intriguing as a fighter.

This post gets it.

I was already extremely hyped when Greninja was revealed, but his moveset just solidified my love for his inclusion. His mobility suits my play style beautifully. I cannot wait to get my hands on him.

Problem is that Jigglypuff was one of ten characters that were placed on bottom of the priority list.

1. Jigglypuff
2. Toon Link
3. Wolf
4. Mewtwo
5. Roy
6. Dr. Mario
7. Dixie
8. Toon Zelda
9. Toon Sheik
10. P & M

I'm not saying that he would get cut this time but I want to point it out tho.

Who's Priority List is this? If it's going by what's in Brawl and it's data I'd say with 1 being the lowest it goes like this.

1. Roy, Doc, Dixie, Toon Wisdom, P&M
2. Mewtwo
3. Jiggly and Toon Courage
4. Wolf

Only because Wolf is unlocked absolutely last.

Actually nvm. The 3 are interchangeable.

To be quite honest, something happened with the last three Pokémon characters in Brawl. As we've learned from Sakurai recently, Lucario came close to not happening despite being playable; Jigglypuff also appeared to be a last minute addition considering her shoehorned presence into Subspace Emissary; and we all know about Mewtwo -- having been planned before Wolf, yet getting dropped because of presumed time conflicts.

I'm not sure if it was Pokémon Trainer who backed up the proverbial Pokémon line, or if it was the late addition of Sonic the Hedgehog that really threw the game into flux, but there were a lot of weird happenings with those last few months of Brawl.

It's basically fan fiction, all the way down to the part of a naked blue guy.

Thanks, internet.

I noticed Sakurai gave a bit too much power to the Kirby characters in the story. Pay attention to how much more they do than any other character.

So what's the consensus on Smash dropping Falco, Wolf, Ganondorf, Jigglypuff, and Ice Climbers?

Personally, I think Dorf is the only one who is going to make it.

The worst part is how the bits they cut from the Kirby characters would have explained the massive brainfuck that they tried to pass as a story.

If it means we get modes like Smash Run then SSE can stay dead.
