Did not realize how many FD haters there are. I love all stages though as long as I can get a strong feel with the characters, so yeah any. I just realized this is the first we see of a FD pic on 3DS. Neat.

Why the hell did Samus go from this and her MP1 appearance to this overly anime look that she has now.
As much as i hate the "because Nintendo" line that's really the only explanation i'm seeing for the change.

I liked the Prime 3 one. Her original made her look like a soccer mom that was two tick-tocks away from losing her mind.

As for the stages for the tournament, I'd say leave them all on for the time being. We don't know which ones are terrible yet and the best way to find out is to lose on them in a tournament so we can blame the stage for our downfall.
Though we could probably assume all the scrolling stages will be awful.

I'm more for fun than I am for glory, I say all stages, especially when the game is first out and to get a feel for each stage. That'd be good for the first tourney, I feel.
When the game has been out longer and there's more of a feel for things, then we can get on the what's banned and not train.

Odds are most tournaments held online will be done in the For Fun option with the items turned off and with standard stage selection rules.
No serious competitive community will hold a FD only tournament.

It's a feature of the stage. Just like how Final Destination has that awkward slope on the bottom that makes recovery difficult or how Pokemon Stadium changes terrain that make things easier/harder for some characters. Players learn how to watch out and take advantage of it.

Arena Ferox looks kind of alright as a counterpick, I guess. I would mention Prism Tower but dat walk off when it's not flying.
3DS is really getting shafted on competitive stages. Wii U has Pyrosphere, Skyloft, Town and City, Pilot Wings, Halberd, etc.

This isn't really justification, but I assume that Sakurai assumes that most competitive play will happen on the Wii U version.
I don't think that's too crazy of an assumption, though I'm sure there will be a dedicated, but small group of competitive types competing on the 3DS version.

The walk-off in Delfino Plaza never got that stage banned as a legal counterpick stage. Though mostly because of how little time is actually spent in each area. It's difficult to say how long Prism Tower will linger in each area but I expect it to be around the same time-frame.

Prism Tower might have a chance then. But thinking about it, wouldn't Final Destination basically render it obsolete as a competitive stage? Both are perfectly flat and FD doesn't have the occasional walk off issue. Maybe Prism Tower gains platforms at some point, who knows.
It is possible that 3D Land may have a chance as a counterpick? I'm pretty Rainbow Cruise is legal in Melee. Depends on the hazards, of course.
Regardless, The 3DS' pool of neutrals is more dry than Dry Dry Desert.
Wii U also has Windy Hill as a potential Counter-Pick
3d land has those spike pillar that break the bottom of the stage and seem to do a ton of knockback. Rainbow cruise had no damaging hazards

I think many people would rather the For Glory mode just be the normal stages with stage hazards turned off, but alas...

Making a FD stage for everyone is an incredibly roundabout way to try to balance the game... except it doesn't because you are giving a lot of advantage to characters who excel in horizontal movement. Watch Little Mac become Top Tier under the FD only meta.

If everyone really wants to do a tourney the day/week it comes out, it would probably be best to just make it a fun one with all stages available.
We'll have to wait a few weeks before we really know what stages are viable or not.

Everyone always complains about her transition and im probably alone in this but I prefer her anime look over her MP look.
