Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 6: Final Destination confirmed for not fun

On a side note, is it my impression or there was a major streamlining of the moves in this game, compared to the past games? It seems like most awkward moves (like bowser's back-air or charizard's forward-air) was changed to something more simple and effective.

I like that they're doing that, but I also hope it doesn't make everyone feel too similar. Seems like everyone moves and recovers very similar now, plus punches and kicks for their "A".

I don't think it'll actually be that much of an issue but it does make me even more anxious to try out all the characters.

I hope Yveltal (a.k.a. Best Legendary) is a Pokéball Pokémon and rains down destruction with Oblivion Wing. We know Xerneas is in the game, using Geomancy, but we haven't see Yveltal yet.

And while we're on the note of Pokémon:

D'awwwww

Lying is bad for you.

You're the only one lying to yourself prodigy :P

My only guess was that we're going to keep the series-based All-Star mode from Brawl, but assist trophies will be factored into the mix this time. I.E. Wario's stage will have you fight him with both Ashley and Waluigi constantly running amok in the background.

But that's just rampant speculation, for all we know it could've been a misquote.

I doubt it, mainly because that would require thinking outside the box.

Same here. I was concerned with people that wouldn't be patience with repeated informations. Apparently, he have something in his sleeve.

Gotta break the news somehow that Ridley won't be playable
PoTD, here's another shadow in the Pyrosphere stage, looks familiar, does it not?

Huge opportunity missed if this color isn't replaced with Dark Bowser in this game. Dry Bowser would be another great costume variant to see.

Anyway, thanks for the update, DaBoss. I really do hope that they give Bowser some super armor to go along with his new moves. Bowser having it on a number of his moves in PM makes a world of difference, and will likely be something he would need in a game with even more possible projectile spammers than ever.

After seeing this old statement from Sakurai I really can't wait to try Bowser:
http://nintendoeverything.com/masah...out-game-balance-in-the-new-smash-bros-games/

“Now that Sunday’s day off is past, I’m currently working on the character adjustment for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. At the moment, Bowser is very strong. He’s really strong. Fans of Smash Bros. probably never saw him as too much of a strong character, but this time, his ability to knock others out is very strong!”

- Bowser’s Smash attacks, special attacks, and aerial attacks now have quite the ability to send opponents flying through the air
- The best part about this is that it feels great
- This great feeling is what Sakurai would like to focus on for the upcoming Smash Bros. games
- He’s putting more care into that part of the game than ever
- Sakurai says having strong attacks are also something that must be carefully balanced
- This is because it may feel unfair to opponents if they’re too overpowered
- In order to meet the right standards, Sakurai and the rest of the development team have been spending a lot of time adjusting stronger attacks to see what works best"

The Bowser breakdown above has made him one of the first characters I'm interested in trying out. So many (overdue) changes came in at once.

Speaking of overdue changes, Sonic was main in brawl and I hope he's changed up a bit for this iteration. Is it confirmed that his side special attack is still the same? Never appreciated that thing one bit.

Yeah the potential of not flinching will do wonders for the big guys in this game. Gives me hope that perhaps Mario has been buffed as well.

Bowser looks pretty good this time. Nice change of pace since he sucks bad in Melee and Brawl.

Seems all characters will be good, hope it doesn't become too unbalanced.

Ha, I've seen your posts, you just can't resist taking shots at Melee/Project M.

I actually hold myself back most of the time, and if you've really seen my posts, you'd know that I've said good things about them as well. It's the community surrounding those games, rather than the games themselves, that is deserving of the most scorn.

Either way, I still stated nothing as fact and everything as my opinion. So my point still stands. Not sure what you're trying to prove here.

That's even worse, for whatever reason people preferring something different from you offends you to the point where you always start insulting the other person.

More proof of armor/no flinching for Bowser?
That's definitely interesting. I remember that now.

But it is Smash Run, so it may be because of one of the pick ups.
I think we will since they never skipped any bimonthly ever since they started doing Direct.
But they had a Smash Direct, a Tomodachi Direct, and Mario Kart previews blow out including new information.

I don't think a Bi-Monthly Direct is guaranteed. There is still a chance, but is unlikely.

I'm a little iffy on that gif because it could just be a really weak multi-hit attack or one of the hitboxes just does non-flinch damage or Bowser has some armor stat/item.

He still has both Side B and Down B spin dashes. One of them is not getting replaced by something better, unfortunately.

I'm more intrigued by the spinning Kremling attack, I've seen Kremlings do many things and that ain't one of them, how graceful.

Maybe heavy characters are going to get more super armour properties on moves, or perhaps that Kremling's limb flailing is an ineffective attack knockback wise.
