Dead Nation plays great on the Vita. Surprised I'm enjoying it; playing the Apocalypse Edition didn't really do anything to spark my interest before.

Just FYI, having bought Dead Nation and getting Dead Nation for free during the PSN outage are not the same thing. I think there's already a precedent for this maybe? Or I use my other account to redeem it long ago.

And Sony has out out 2 F2P Vita games this year. And I don't curse their name. Good job SCEJA.

Nah, you must have it on another account, mine was free today and I got it free from Welcome Back... I was mad that I didn't redeem Wipeout HD on my real account when they added it as DLC tracks for Wipeout 2048.

That means I really goofed. Because I did the same with the Wipeout tracks too =/

don't remind me about Wipeout...
sigh I should really have picked Wipeout and Dead Nation for my Welcome Back then

No worries. The other game I redeemed was Infamous, which was cool to play, but when I got a PS3 again around x-mas 2012, I was like "cool, i won't have to buy LBP again" and realized I redeemed it to some other account that I had no way of accessing... same for LBP PSP.

Tried to milk the system and ended up milking myself.

Been playing Dead Nation Vita (dat Holloween sale man :); got the PS3 version for only 3 bucks!), Castle of Illusion HD, and a good amount of Vita games at college (was nice using it to pass time between classes :)).

Dead Nation runs really great on Vita; tight controls (mostly, the second stick aiming is a little bit off, but its not that bad at all), native res + great visuals (impressed; thought the game looked nice on the PS3 version), and stable performance all make it a lot of fun to play so far :). Like the games slower paced feel compared to other Zombie twin stick shooters; makes the game feel very different compared to them. Another great Vita game to play :).

As this was the only game from Plus this month I don't own (own Batman for the past year or two and got the Stealth, Monsters and Volcity from sales in January), Castle of Illusion was a game I was looking forward to the most :). Never played the original (nice its comes with the HD version!) but this game feels so good; the transitions between 2D/3D feel great, the platforming and visuals is very solid, and the music is wonderful (not surprising; Grant always makes killer tunes :)). Great 'free' game this month.

Played a good amount of games at college; Fez, PSAS, and God of War GoS. I'm pretty far in Fez (got 19 yellow cubes, a red cube, some maps, 2 blue cubes, and opened all of the intail four doors), played a match or two of PSAS, and got quite far in GoS. Think I will take my Vita with me places more often :).

Not sure if posted before, but Gamestop has a listing for Freedom Wars.
Interesting things to note:

Its for $30.

Possibly gives hope for physical release.

Considering it is a first party game, I would hope it gets a retail version :). Hope that price point is real; a bargain considering were lucky the game is getting localized at all :).

Not my type of game (never into the Monster Hunter-esc games; feels way to tedious to me sadly :(), but I'm glad people looking forward this can get the retail copy to relieve their crying memory cards (man...they are so dam expensive sadly :().

:respect:

I loved Castle of Illusion when it came out, but it seemed like no one was talking about it. Was even one of my top games of 2013.

I take back the steady framerate comment about Dead Nation.

It runs fine for most of the beginning chapters. But as things ramp up and corpses sprawl everywhere, the framerate drops to 20-24-ish at worst. It's not gamebreaking, but definitely noticeable and (even worse imo) consistent in areas with lots of zombies/lighting/dead bodies.

Still pretty fun, though not as much as Stardust HD or Delta. I have yet to play Resogun as I don't own a PS4 atm.

One of my friends is getting it for Vita too so maybe I'll be able to post co-op impressions soon.

Finished Fez tonight which was wonderful beyond some minor gripes with the map and navigation. Time to get back to Yakuza I guess.

Just finished Walking Dead on PS Vita!
What a sad end!! T-T
But the game surprised me! Its veery good indeed! I may look fot that "The Wolf Among Us" then!

Dead Nation on Vita is actually surprisingly good. I was worried about the framerate, but it's pretty solid so far. The lighting and shadows are also very impressive as well. I guess it doesn't hurt that the camera is pulled so far away from the characters, so you don't have to crazy detailed character models. I loved it on PS3, barely played it on PS4, but it feels great being able to play it on the go on my Vita.

Hey man, can you check whether it can do ad-hoc MP? I assume it can, but just to make sure.

What are the max number of players for MP play?

Wow. Switching accounts on a Vita REALLY is a pain in the ass. I'm always on my Japanese account but I've amassed so many nice releases with my US Plus I thought I might take advantage of it with my old 16GB card. grrr... so much hassle.

just buy it on the webstore and it will show up in your vita download list

Yeah, I know. Just wondering if they also updated the Vita store along with the webstore.

Anyway, Botzone works pretty well. You can choose team size and difficulty level with a few taps of the touch screen. The AI are pretty talkitive compared to your multiplayer teammates, and it all runs without too much jank. Sometimes the AI will stay still when they spawn (but seemingly only at the lowest level of difficulty).

EDIT:

Yup, you got Ah-Hoc on the Main Menu. IIRC, you can only have two players during multiplayer.

EDIT2: Yup, two players. You can do all modes co-op it seems.

yup and you do indeed earn both money and kills to ur career profile :)

Interesting that NISA got more stock of the Demon Gaze LE. Thought it was sold out for a while, and even when I checked this morning.

I wonder what the May PS4 PS+ game will be.

Daylight?

I think Daylight comes out next week, doesn't it?

Edit: 29th of April. And it's discounted for Plus members.

Interesting that NISA got more stock of the Demon Gaze LE. Thought it was sold out for a while, and even when I checked this morning.

It's probably leftover stock from people whose orders didn't go through for whatever reason.

I had mine ordered the day it was announced. Then I cancelled it. NISA replenished its stock and I ordered it again earlier today.

Am I the only one irked that we have to pay for botzone?

Nope, I don't like it either. It's great that Guerrilla Cambridge is supporting the game and all, but I don't like having to pay for a game mode.

Am I the only one irked that we have to pay for botzone?

Yes… yes you are

it's less than $3 for something that the game wasn't ever originally envisioned with.
After hearing community feedback, The team had to go back, spend time and money to put it in there. It wasn't simply throw the AI switch on. They had to reengineer both the levels and AI to take advantage of the modes. Not to mention, I can only imagine that the team itself at this point is also small.

Remember, we got 2 maps for free months after it was released.

Man, I dont know how this happened, but d*mn Vita looks smexy without the statusbar:

I bought a PS4 and I can't get Resogun to work. Everytime I download it, it gets stuck at the loading screen (black one with the ship on the bottom right). I've tried downloading again and it's always the same problem.

For comparison's sake, I downloaded Infamous and Mercenary Kings and they both worked.

Got Dead Nation free from the PSN outage and played it halfway I think but never finished it for some reason. Now playing the free crossbuy version and I'm loving it all over again, hopefully enough to finish it.

Great port so far besides some few minor framedrops here and there. I'd rate it the same as the PS3 version. Barely any downgrades and it's the exact same game.

Yes, it has Ad Hoc, and it's 2 players max.

how does it run Dead Nation on vita in comparison with the PS3 version?

It runs great so far. It's actually pretty smartly designed in terms of what its priorities are. The framerate is very good. The graphical details are also really impressive. Particles, fog, lighting and shadows. Very well done. The controls are pretty solid too, but aiming with the right analog stick can feel a little loose, and not as tight as the DS4.

I've come across that glitch too. For me it was triggered by having Wake Up Club's alarm running while the app was shut off. After I accepted the notification asking if I'd like to enter Wake Up Club, I was greeted to this when exiting back to the menu:

It's happened a few times. I think it goes away just by launching a new program.

:lol Stealth launch? I don't remember this being announced. Maybe they were hoping it would explode in popularity with the stealth launch like Atelier Totori did

Hype
don't remind me about Wipeout...
sigh I should really have picked Wipeout and Dead Nation for my Welcome Back then

Dat feel when I picked WipEout HD and Dead Nation

Although on the PSP side of things I picked LBP and Mod Nation :\ Wish I picked Killzone and Pursuit Force instead
