Anyone else having trouble getting into north american 3ds eshop? Miiverse on it works fine, and wii u eshop does too. Sometimes it gives me an error code (didn't write it down though) and other times it just says try later

Welp thanks for that, buying it then. Sounds like I would love it.

one thing you must know before diving into this game (and other 2D F-Zero games) is that blast turning (tapping the accelerator while taking a corner) makes a huge difference in how the game handles. without it, it feels like the game is slippery as hell, but with it, everything works alright.

Hey what's that supposed to mean! :p

Yup! Took them long enough but I'm glad it's finally coming. I just wasn't sure if this was news to you guys or not.
I am literally stunned. And thrilled!

Just tried World Tour again. Camera issues are bothering me. I need to be able to get closer to the target. Putting is especially annoying.

I just noticed Cave Story with a coming soon tab on the European 3DS eShop. Lengthy description too. Is it finally happening?

I... I... I certainly wasn't expecting this at this point. Glad I stopped playing the PC version before finishing it some time ago, I rather play it on a handheld. Price seems to be appropiate too, I remember thinking it was going to be 10€.

So, yeah. Excited for this.

Heh I'm even worse. I own both the PC version and the 3DS remake already but I've never gotten around to playing either of em properly. Plus I prefer portability and I'm not too fond of the remake's visuals.

Yeah, this'll definitely be mine.

So rebuying Cave Story! One of my favorite games ever

What type of game is it exactly?

Sort of an Puzzle-Action/Adventure games.

You have overworld sections where you explore a map, pick of coins to buy upgrades and read signs to get a sense for the story. (Not much going on, really.) It looks like this:

You then have these fast-paced puzzle sections that involve picking up colored orbs and shooting them toward flowers. (It's alot more fun than this sounds) It all revolves around shooting your orb and hitting more stuff (bubbles, other orbs, etc) to make a higher combo. I wish there was a demo, the gameplay is sort of odd, so it's not easy to explain.

As you get higher scores in the puzzle sections, you restore the land. (Everything becomes more colorful, and the map animates)

Anyway, they're doing a launch sale for $3.50. No reason to not buy it. It's pretty fun, has decent music and the actually looks pretty nice when you're in the middle of a huge combo and your screen is filled with fireworks.

Golden Sun will be mine, not sure on F-Zero love the SNES game so I guess I should pick this one up as well. Thoughts on it?

It's the closest game I've seen to the SNES one. Love the SNES one. Never got much into F-Zero N64, though. The GBA isn't as good as the SNES one, to me, but it's pretty close. :)

I almost feel wrong buying SMB3 right away since it seems to be supporting Nintendo's VC trickle policy, but goddamn I need to play that game again. It's been probably around fifteen years since I have.

I've never even played it at all. Why it took them this long to release it on VC (unless there were technical problems or something) is beyond me. And no, the trickle policy doesn't work as an excuse.

It was just NOA being dumb it had nothing to do with technical problems, the game has been out in Europe and Japan on WiiU for 4 months.

Its really dumb of them to release it in the middle of the GBA games releases

It's been on Japan 3DS VC for over a year, too.

I wish NOA would just tell us their reasoning instead of us guessing at why. It would be nice to have a more definitive answer other than the usual "because NOA" answer we usually go with.

They had to get all the games featured in NES Remix 2 out before that releases next week. Makes you wonder how much longer it would have taken if there wasn't that game to force it out, or maybe they intentionally waited until now to release it as cross promotion. I don't know.

And now that it's out I have no more NES games on Wii mode to upgrade, yay. Still have a few SNES games to go and N64 games if that ever happens ;_;

I still have quite a few: Adventures of Lolo, Bio Miracle, Bubble Bobble, Castlevania III, Faxanadu, Final Fantasy and StarTropics 1 & 2. So get on it, Nintendo and everyone else involved!

The WiiWare version of Flowerworks was one of the first games I got a review code for back when I ran my own website.

Good times.

Would you honestly feel better if they came out and said, "we have no idea what we're doing"?

I heard that it's next week.

Also Golden Sun in 1080p is... what I call blown way out of proportion, lol. Hopefully, there's a pixel perfect mode in the emulation menu. Yay!

Looking forward to The Lost Age. <3 <3

Yeah, there is. In full screen mode staircases are almost impossible to see. Pixel perfect mode is just fine.

I'll probably get Mario 3 on 3DS and Wii U, but only because I can get the Wii U version for $1 after paying CN coins for the Wii version last year. Hopefully they'll eventually release the Super Mario Advance 4 version, because that was the best version IMO. Then again, you know they'd ignore the e-Reader functions.

PSA TO F-ZERO: MV BUYERS:
This game is similar to, but not quite the same as F-Zero SNES. Handling is a lot more difficult and the physics feel different. The cars are different and it makes it almost feel like a knockoff. The most important thing to know is to tap the accelerator repeatedly to make sharp turns properly. You can see this and other tips if you leave the game idle on the title screen long enough. Good luck and have fun.

This is my pick for the outlier and worst F-Zero game, but that doesn't mean it's bad. It was my first GBA game and I love it. I just think the other two GBA F-Zero games were vastly superior (even the highly criticized Falcon Legend/GP Legend.) I would be picking this up if money were no concern but I have a copy on cartridge and 3DS Ambassador VC.

Here's hoping you other westerners get a chance to play F-Zero Climax as an import VC title because it's the best mode7 F-Zero game by far.

You're the first person I see that likes GP Legend more than Maximum Velocity, or even at all. Personally, I didn't like it at all and dropped it very fast. I was surprised to hear the sequel was supposedly good.

Finally got to fill in the space on my 3DS' home screen for Mario 3. Played a couple worlds of it. This is actually my first time playing the NES version in any form. I've only played the update version (Allstars on SNES and the GBA port). There were a few levels that took me by surprise since they had a blue pallet instead of the dirt aesthetics in the GBA version (the one I played most recently).

considering that the crossbuy doesn't exist on N platform, I think that announcing it would be something "news worthy", am I wrong?
so why being shocked by SM3 not being crossbuy?
There's people that froth at the mouth about Earthbound not being on 3DS VC despite the fact there's no SNES games there. Lots of people putting the carriage before the horse here.

I'm probably more than a little biased by nostalgia since F-Zero was one of my first two SNES games and GP Legend is highly reminiscent of that version. Most people seemed to dislike the fact that it was so much easier than Maximum Velocity, but I simply adored the fact that the whole game was basically a love letter to SNES F-Zero. Climax takes it to the next level and adds more track variety plus a track editor with shareable tracks, and isn't quite as easy. I feel like the anime might have turned western audiences off from GP Legend as well.
