Nintendo Downloads - April 2014

You're the first person I see that likes GP Legend more than Maximum Velocity, or even at all. Personally, I didn't like it at all and dropped it very fast. I was surprised to hear the sequel was supposedly good.

Climax is what GPL should have been in the first place. it advances the gameplay beyond copying the console versions and actually looks like it is pushing the GBA to its limits. at times it looks like it is actually in 3D. the tracks and cars look quite nice. MV at least has the excuse of being a launch game for looking so-so but GPL looks hardly better and it came way later. it's surprising how they managed a bigger jump in just 1 year with Climax (i guess the folks at Suzak weren't completely bad but that doesn't matter since they closed down years ago)
it also has a track editor as part of the game.

it is the definitive portable F-Zero game. it was a real shame it was never localized. they should have picked it over GPL and left GPL in japan since Climax released in japan at about the same time as GPL in america (europe got GPL earlier but not by much).

Zombi U price drop? Gotta grab that digial copy. I loved that game so much and want to run through it again, as I've yet to be it without dying.

30 dollar permanent price drop just means the next time it goes on sale I will buy it.

Once that is done it'll only leave TTT2, Nintendo Land and NSMBU in my physical collection, with everything else digital.

If I buy Golden Sun now before The Lost Age is out, I'll just end up playing The Lost Age on my DS Lite, and if I'm going to do that, I might as well just play the original on my DS Lite too.

I've never even played it at all. Why it took them this long to release it on VC (unless there were technical problems or something) is beyond me. And no, the trickle policy doesn't work as an excuse.

They probably decided they wanted to save it for the new fiscal year.

ops ... read wrong the first time .... the direct was released in MARCH not may

So ... one year and one month =P

So ... anyone up for Operation The Last Flipnote ? =/

When NES REMIX 2 releases, it will be the only Tokyo EAD 2 game not released in the Americas

So why is this not out anywhere besides Japan? Was it related to the whole Swapnote scandal?

The release date was in August ... the swapnote scandal was in November

We never had a single word from Nintendo about it ... and since it is not a "game", no GAME journalist ever asked.

It was MONTHS before.

They just turn off the servers when Swapgate happened

Flipnote STILL is an amazing tool to use without the online part

The Mario Golf demo is awesome. Feels just like Everybodys Golf PS3, only a greater emphasis on trick shots and hazards I guess.

Well, you're right. But I do actually think they ran into technical issues, then Swapgate happened, and then they decided to just let it go.

How much did it cost you? The PR said it was going to be 10€, but it's actually 22€ (50% off), or at least that's the case in the spanish eShop.

€9.99 on the Belgian eShop as advertised over here.

I don't know if I should bite though, I haven't heard good things about it.

I'm still waiting for atlus discount on the PAL eshop to get EO4
Thing is ATLUS did not publish it in Europe and for some reason NISA Europe don't think it is one of their games (their Facebook account responded with that to someone else who asked) so no EOIV sale for Europe unless NISA get their heads out the sand.

30 uses. I guess nisa has learned the lesson.
Thats good to hear.

I remember hearing the Spainsh eShop never got price drop to €20 (nobody knows why). Thing is given the prices are entered manually (or they were a year ago as the Denpa Men sale in the UK suggested*) I would expected the person doing it to notice that was odd...

*-They typed the € in £ turning a 20% discount into a either a 9% or 11% one.

It seems that the European version of Golden Sun is only in English. I find it pretty strange after they gave us the inferior version of Super Metroid and other games because they had other languages, but I suppose they can't be bothered to give different roms depending on the European region or allow the consumers to choose what version of a rom they want.

The strange thing about this is that I believe Link's Awakening isn't a multilanguage rom either and Germany received a translated release. Is the Wii U eShop more rigid or something?

Nintendo 3DS | eShop Original Software, Downloadable Content and Demos

Was browsing around 3DS eShop looking for Flowerworks before realizing that it's on the WiiU. Decided to see what this game (Smash Cat Heroes) is about. Noticed that it only has 1 review for 1 star. Not too good, I guess.

I can't decide whether I want SMB3 on Wii U or 3DS, so I'm just going to set fire to a $5 bill and send the video to Nintendo.

Golden Sun for a Wii U and SMB 3 for 3DS for me this week.

I have way too many other things to play to justify jumping into Golden Sun at the moment, but I want to support VC. Positive reinforcement.

Employee A: Hey, I was thinking of uploading the NA ROM so that European players will finally get to experience Super Metroid as it was meant to be. Is that okay with you?
Employee B: Are you insane? Don't you know that the PAL version has a few translated lines of text? I'm sure everyone will gladly sacrifice superior gameplay to experience the gripping story that is SM.
Employee A: Uh, if you say so.

A: So, should I get the Q&A department ready to play test the different versions of Golden Sun?
B: Different versions?
A: Yeah, each language has it's own version so we have to play test them all to be 100% sure that there aren't any issues with the emulation.
B: (That sounds... expensive and would require some effort on our part.) Just upload the NA ROM.
A: But for SM you said...
B: Kids have been spoiled by all the localized content and their English is getting rusty. It's high time we gave them an opportunity to practice this essential skill of our globalized world in a fun environment. Yes, that's right. WE ARE DOING A SERVICE TO HUMANITY!
A: So, we are also changing our policy for NES and SNES VC?
B: Nah, that's too bothersome.
A: ...

Talk about idiotic decisions and putting in as little effort as possible. Nintendo should be ashamed of how they are treating VC.

what?!

Oh man why didn't I waited... I even uninstalled it to play DKC, and I hadn't even booted it up.

I bought during that discount, but it was like 34 or something

Since it was a permanent price drop, I really think that we could get it a bit cheaper later in the future. That if Ubisoft give us a 50% sale!
So their games like AC3 and Zombie U would be at $9.99 max :P

You've got to be kidding me.

I just checked their NOE websites and low and behold it says English text. I'm very confident that Golden Sun would have gotten a German and French translation at the very least because that is how NOE did things back in those days (unless that rule only applied to consoles then). It is like they are just trolling at the moment.

Hopefully affected customers can press their customer services for an answer.

That could just be an angry ex-girlfriend or something. One man's trash, so the saying goes.

It was translated to French, German, Italian and Spanish. The problem here is that each cartridge only contained one language and we've ended in this situation where all of Europe shares the same English rom. I don't know how difficult is to add some options in the eShop to choose what version of a game someone wants to download but it would be the best way to go around this problem.

Seriously. Let us choose the language we want when released separately and let us choose between multilanguage and 60Hz whenever applicable. I guess it's not exclusive to Nintendo because Sony has been just as bad with this but you'd think it'd be standard by now.

Heck, it's even the case for their recent games. I can only buy a dutch downloadable copy of the Layton games for example, no other languages are offered on our eShop. Why would you even do that?
