Oh come on. You were convinced there wasn't going to be a sale, and not only there is one, it already has 13+ pages of discussion on GAF. This is a great sale, just admit you were wrong and thank SCEA for their efforts. :p

Either way, it's a damn shame that this thread has people that consistently drive newcomers from posting here, or simply troll them with shitty answers.

It's a terrible sale. So sure, the other poster wasn't kidding... but his hype was ridiculously unfounded. While he was right that it has some Steam level pricing, I managed to pick up 1 game that I had already on 2 other platforms and it wasn't even a Vita game.
So there you have it -- my skepticism about the sale coming was wrong. My skepticism about the quality of the sale was pretty much spot on. :P

It's a terrible sale. So sure, the other poster wasn't lying... but his hype was ridiculously unfounded.
Just because it doesn't have anything you want doesn't mean it's a terrible sale though, there might be people who want to get a lot of the stuff on there and the prices are crazy.

trust me i know. thats why i left that question. thanks to all that appreciate the hints that some drop. i think some need to understand that this type of sale is good for all. it expands exposure to devs, brands and helps the wallet. remember this is for you :)
Yeah the sale didn't exactly have many games that caught my attention but I'll be picking up a game or twoo
eh, good enough, tearaway can wait.

Still haven't really tinkered around with FFX sadly. Got 5 hours in, then something compelled me to do another run of LR and FFVIII.
I should hopefully finish it by the end of the weekend. Hopefully grinding Stat Spheres doesn't take too long

haha i will get on that. didn't know the thirst for vita was real on GAF.
We eat up Vita games man :P Doesn't the Vita have a like 10 game attach ratio? lol
The people who funded their wallets with $40-$100 in anticipation of this sale now have probably $40-$100 in PSN credit waiting on their account for something actually worth purchasing. :P

Personally, I get sick of someone trying to hype up something that most likely isn't going to be great, let alone mind-blowing.
I don't see why they just didn't wait for the sale to actually go live :lol

I'll agree though that I was a disappointed in the sale. We only really got small downloadable games in it. That's fine and all but some retail games would be nice too. Not really upset or anything though since they're dirt cheap :lol

Don't think there anything wrong with hinting upcoming sales. Just keep it as modest and vague to level off the expectation., that all.

Just because it doesn't have anything you want doesn't mean it's a terrible sale though, there might be people who want to get a lot of the stuff on there and the prices are crazy.

The number of people who complained after it was revealed in here alone was pretty high. A good majority of the content has already been given out free to PS+ members or been discounted for PS+ members as well. It's not a great sale by any standard that I can think of -- especially not considering the first I saw the hyping of it was in response to my lament of all the games I would have purchased if the EU Easter Sale was valid for NA as well.

There are a few fantastic deals in the mix -- but odds are on a lot of those games that you probably already purchased them long ago if you had any interest (Jurassic Park full season, SSHD, Tokyo Jungle).

Don't think there anything wrong with hinting upcoming sales. Just keep it as modest and vague to level off the expectation., that all.

There you go.
The way it was hyped, it should have been the most amazing thing ever that blew everyone's minds.
But instead it's got a couple fantastic deals if you just bought a PS3 or have been living under a rock or for some reason don't own PS+.
And with the design of PS+ that is mostly chastised (you can't buy a game if you downloaded it via PS+), people who might be willing to spend $1 to ensure they always own a copy of a game can't even do that on about 30% of the sale.
Seriously, I think all of the following were given away on PS+:
Back to the Future: The Game – Full Series $0.99 $19.99
Crash Bandicoot $0.99 $5.99
Crash Bandicoot 2 $0.99 $5.99
Crash Bandicoot 3: WARPED $0.99 $5.99
Crash Commando $0.99 $9.99
CTR: Crash Team Racing $0.99 $5.99
Gotham City Impostors $0.99 $14.99
Plants vs Zombies $0.99 $10.49
Retro City Rampage (PS Vita) $0.99 $9.99
Retro City Rampage (PS3) $0.99 $9.99
“Sam & Max” The Devil’s Playhouse $0.99 $19.99
Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage! $0.99 $5.99
Spyro: The Dragon $0.99 $5.99
Spyro: Year of the Dragon $0.99 $5.99
Urban Trial Freestyle (PS Vita) $0.99 $9.99

So 4 Vita compatible titles (2 which have been on PS+) and a total of 14/30 games that have been PS+ titles...

So much in that sale I already have :(. Bought Jurassic Park, Red faction 2, Secret of Monkey Island, Braid, & Tokyo Jungle. The last of which for the sake of a game that's at least somewhat close to being my dream Animorphs game.

Only disappointing part of the sale is those PS1 classics not being Vita compatible in North America. I posted in the sale thread and that was 99% of my disappointment.

I think it's just because you own a license for it that it's "free".
Shows as 13.99$ for me (wow, that's a serious price...)

That's interesting. None of my other purchased games show up that way.

(Yeah it's a high price for what it is. While it's awesome in a lot of ways, I can't recommend it to others at that price.)

The funny part is that corrosivefrost didn't even like the Strider reboot.

Of course I didn't. Because it's a dumpster fire... (oh, okay, it's mediocre at best).

The original arcade game, the PSone remake/sequel, and the NES game are all solid. So is Strider Hiryu in the MvC series.
I changed my avatar to Strider Hiryu because I started to get hyped near release after a couple of trailers and promo videos made it look like it had a chance to be good.
And then I played it... and it was about what I originally expected, maybe worse... as much as it pains me to say this, I think I had more fun with NT's reboot of a beloved Capcom franchise (gameplay wise, at least).

Pirateking, you can get one of the Capcom Collections digitally on Vita and it has the arcade version of Strider on it.

Seems like every Vita game I've played recently disables network features. Gravity Rush, FFX, and Project Diva f are the most recent, it's annoying.

haha i will get on that. didn't know the thirst for vita was real on GAF.

please stay with us. hear our feedback (some of us like to troll but don't take it to heart... they weren't like this when we had our own VitaGAF thread)

Having better PS1 compatibility will be really awesome - let us know what's causing the delay... (other publishers not being willing etc) so we can make our voices heard.

I hope to have more PSP classics available for the Vita. Valkyrie Chronicles 2 and 3.. All the Patapons. Crisis Core and Birth by Sleep.

And the thirst is REAL. there's so many games I'll buy for the Vita on sale. and take note of the Cross-Buy games. or games that offer more content for the Vita version if you own the PS3 version (Wipeout HD sale please)

the best thing that can happen is to make us feel that as some of the Vita greatest supporters, Sony is listening to us.

holding me back as well. I own physical releases of the crash titles and a ps1- I don't need another console version of those games. would love them on vita

Well, I'm kinda glad I never bought GT5 DLC

Basically "we're shutting the servers down. Thanks for your expansion/DLC cash, but fuck you; get out."

Let's be real: On the PS3 side it's decent for "flash-sale" with a lot of titles that some people may or may have skipped on due to the price before.

On the portable side: *crickets* But that's Sony as a whole: Throwing the baby out with the tub and bathwater to support grandpa.

dammit I got 1000 Sony Rewards points, but since Im not in the US I can't redeem them :(
I contacted sony and they told me that the points are for US residents only ,now looks like its blocked or something cause I asked friend from the US to try to redeem it and no luck

Hello my good GAFfers, I was thinking about what are the chances of a Gran Turismo for Vita to appear. Anyone still believes it's possible? What about a Bioshock for the Vita? I think that one will never happen too? I would love a portable Gran Turismo (and not the PSP Version)

---

On a side note I managed to play a bit of Dead Nation on the Vita. The online seems more empty than, say, the PS4 version. Controls are fine and the game looks good but I might play a bit more solo on the Vita since I got two players dropping the connection after some time playing online.

It doesn't seem it has been posted here:

New Montezuma game arrives soon on Vita, still F2P, now with RPG elements à la Puzzle Quest:

Awesome. Treasures of Montezuma Blitz consumed me for ages when I first got my Vita. Perfect toilet game.

Has Lemmings on Playstation Mobile always been free?
Just saw it in the EU store, never seen it before as a PS Mobile.

Yup. You only get about 1/3 of the game for free though, the rest of it costs money to unlock.

Only on GAF could we bitch about sale of 99¢ games. Love it...

Despite the selection being lacking for some (I only have three of those games and I've been a PS+ member for two years) I hope Sony will see fit to have more rock bottom sales like this. Has there EVER been a 99¢ sale on consoles like this before?

Gran Turismo for the Vita might take a while considering Polyphony Digital. I admit I also doubt its coming for the Vita but considering it is one of Sony's biggest IP, they might use it to draw crowds towards the Vita.

Bioshock Vita however, will only remain on K Levines' and VitaGAFs dreams. I would love to be proven wrong on this but the odd are not in the game's favor right now.

Neither is happening.
Dead Nation is great, played through it alone on PS3, might try finding some company for Vita playthrough.

Let's see what was offered free for PS+ for the flash sale for me:

Plants vs. Zombies
Gotham City Impostors
Crash Bandicoot
Crash Bandicoot 2
Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped
Retro City Rampage PS3
Retro City Rampage PS Vita
Spryo the Dragon
Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage
Spyro Year of the Dragon
Crash Commando
Back to the Future
Urban Trial Freestyle
CTR: Crash Team Racing

14 out of 30 games. Can't buy what was free for me, so it kinda limits my options. Hope Sony does more flash sales with a better selection in the future.

so the $.99 sale is the sale i have been hyping GAF about for the past week or so. enjoy guys.
Late to the party, but I know I am going to be buying several games. I got my PSX real late in it's lifecycle, and being able to pick up those classics for a buck a pop is amazing. Yea, I wish I could play them on the Vita, but life isn't perfect, and these games are much cheaper than they'll ever be (aside from free).

Aside from the PSX classics, I know I am getting several other games as well. Some great buys in here, for sure. I surely appreciate any and all hints, tips and anything else dropped.

I think the chance for a GT6 for Vita is very slim, considering PD wants to make every GT game in house. With GT6 not doing well, they must be working on GT6 Remastered Edition or GT7 for the PS4. They thought with the PS3 install base GT6 would sell well, but numbers have shown that cross gen games are doing better on the PS4. Vita is only doing well in Japan and GT's popularity has sunk to a new low there, I see no reason for PD/Sony to release it on the Vita.

And seeing what happened to Irrational games, I doubt we'll ever see a Bioshock game for the Vita.

Seems like every Vita game I've played recently disables network features. Gravity Rush, FFX, and Project Diva f are the most recent, it's annoying.

That's because it actually runs faster if the network features are disabled! Obviously, only single-player games can do it.

"Admittedly one of the biggest improvements that day came from making use of the alternative power mode on the Vita which allows you to increase the GPU clock speed while disabling the WiFi during gameplay."

Neither is happening.

Please my fine people, Believe. ;)
But yes, I do need to keep a realistic perspective.

I think the chance for a GT6 for Vita is very slim, considering PD wants to make every GT game in house.

At this point I would be Ok with a light/compact/prologue version. They could release a smaller games just to keep some Vita owners happy. Less cars, less track and so on. Then they could use any sort of feature like credits, your garage, etc and make it transferable for the next GT game on the PS4, whether a Prologue or not. I know it's a long shot but Vita already had Uncharted, Resistance, and other major titles (not saying how good or bad they are) so a Gran Turismo seems to be a genre that not only it's missing but it could sell well. But I may be wrong on the selling well part, not going to argue with that since I have no idea no GT6 is going right now.

We've been over this so many times. The 'big' game and the 'P' game weren't the same thing.

The 'P' game = Proteus.
The 'big' game = Football Manager 2014 Classic (he's British, so it's big to him.)

I agree that FMC 2014 is the big game. Perfect handheld game and I already have put many hours into it.

At this point I would be Ok with a light/compact/prologue version.

The problem with this is people would shit on this version of the game. Some might make it look like Sony just throwing a bone to a near dead puppy. It would probably be universally panned by "fans" and would contribute to it selling poorly. I for one, do not expect the Full Gran Turismo experience on my Vita as I generally like to play this on a large TV with a proper set of racing game gear.

Well, as I said later, if you didn't buy a few of the games that have never really had a sale, stuff like Tokyo Jungle or Jurassic Park for $1 are arguably decent. Picking up the Crash and Spyro games if you really want to play them on your PS3 (since you can't play them on Vita), also decent (except for the fact that they were all PS+ freebies). But given how the EU Easter sale had just been announced (or gone live) and the poster hyping up the sale did so, partially, in response to my comments lamenting how SCEA never gave us sales like that where there were 4+ Vita games I would pretty much fund my wallet for and buy instantly, it's seriously disappointing. Without the hype, it would've been "eh, it's okay". Based on all the hype and hint dropping it's more like "are you kidding me? this is it?!" :P

Let's see what was offered free for PS+ for the flash sale for me:

Plants vs. Zombies
Gotham City Impostors
Crash Bandicoot
Crash Bandicoot 2
Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped

I posted that earlier, but yeah, your count matches mine -- 14/30 games in the sale have been PS+ freebies.

I'm trying to push this number even higher, I started buying retail copies this year, I'm up to 12 now and that's without digital games.

Buying retail copies of games you already own?

Akibas Trip 2 coming to the PS4 in Japan really makes me rethink getting it on Vita when the localization arrives...
But it's nice to see stuff coming to the ps4 on Japan, even if not exclusive.
