Whats up with the police jokes?
They should've left close to an hour ago, and the joke is that the police will bust the tourny any time now
Whats up with the police jokes?
Look.
Let's be honest with ourselves.
K.Rool was neither interesting enough or around long enough to be memorable. He changed every game, appeared only at the very end, and had a design that could most generously be described as "Not the worst thing Rare has made."
Whatever nostalgia you have imprinted on to this character with his incredibly dumb pun name probably doesn't hold up to the light of day.

Okay, is it really advisable to constantly stay close to the edge against Falco?
Because M2K keeps getting D-aired like crazy.

PRetty meh and felt somewhat one-sided, although it might be because everyone was tired
that's because you watched the Mango 3-0 and not the two sets that went to game 5![]()
This is getting me hyped for SSB4 since it'll be better than Brawl but still better than Melee.

We know it might be another trick. We're just keeping things realistic so we're not disappointed. Are we absolutely sure that Ridley won't be playable? I don't see why he didn't just show Ridley when he said that instead of showing its shadow. It might be another trick.
Oh man, that up-B that clipped the back of Cap's head is prime =)
I hate to be that guy, but come on. Ridley is too big. It's common sense. Are we absolutely sure that Ridley won't be playable? I don't see why he didn't just show Ridley when he said that instead of showing its shadow. It might be another trick.

Chorus Boys sounds hilarious and something I now want.
I swear to God Zalman, it's not funny.I hate to be that guy, but come on. Ridley is too big. It's common sense.

I hope we can get a pink hoodie Mac too.
I noticed a couple of small things on the official Facebook page that I don't recall being discussed here.

This appears to be the score results screen to one of the modes (Classic?) in the Wii U game with the player's Global Smash Power. We already know from the Direct that GSP is based on results from offline-play, this might give a better idea of how GSP calculated.
My two big problems with this mockup are one, Ridley is too wide with the tail (yes Bowser is also wide, and Charizard is wide but he looks positively tiny in this compared to Ridley), and the big one, the hitbox is all over the place. Like if you run into his tail, is that bad? It looks pointy. Is it going to move around or just hang out there? If you punch it, or one of his wings, does that count as a hit? Presumably other champions also have weird disjointed hitboxes but this looks especially awkward compared to Bowser or even Charizard.![]()
I know it's been posted a thousand times, but this would be perfect. If Sakurai really wanted to make Ridley playable, he could easily find a way to modify some proportions. Maybe create a Smash Bros. version of Ridley that's a conglomeration of various separate designs.
A mode where Ridley could be controlled by one player as a boss, and the other players defeat him, might be a way to both make him big and appease some people who want him playable.I always thought that that Ridley mockup made him way too small.
Like, Ridley is big. I feel like you could still preserve that pretty well without making him so big as to be ridiculous, though. You don't need to shrink him - if he no longer looks large in comparison to Samus then you have a problem.
I think it's safe to assume that absolutely no one that wants Ridley playable would be appeased by a "boss mode" variation, haha. I know I wouldn't.A mode where Ridley could be controlled by one player as a boss, and the other players defeat him, might be a way to both make him big and appease some people who want him playable.
I think he's ugly and wouldn't mind if he was out of the game completely, but I realize others disagree.
Exactly. I love Ridley, but he shouldn't be playable. I don't want him to shrink. He's supposed to be a massive beast.I always thought that that Ridley mockup made him way too small.

I'm surprised this wasn't his alt, especially considering that the real wire-frame Punch-Out!! guy and Little Mac aren't even the same person.I hope we can get a pink hoodie Mac too.
Yeah, that's probably my biggest issue with that particular mockup - Ridley just looks awkward in it. However, there's an easy way around it in my eyes - make him crawl on the ground just like he does in the Prime games. This is probably beating a thoroughly worn side of this dead horse, but my biggest conceptual issue with playable Ridley is that most of his encounters feature him almost permanently flying. That size mockup up there throws me every time, not just because his proportions or relative scale are odd, but because that melee-ready stance doesn't jive with how I've ever experienced the character. He's an aerial threat through and through in a way that I don't know can be balanced within Smash's ruleset while still ending up with something that feels like you're actually playing Ridley.

He can be terrifying and huge in the air but reasonably small and compact on the ground - which presents an interesting conundrum. Does the play stay on the ground where they are inherently safer, or do they take to the air where Ridley is much more powerful but also more vulnerable?

I'd have to rewatch the Direct to be sure, but I think GSP is related to online play, is it not?
When I first saw the GSP reveal, I couldn't help but feel they're like DBZ's power levels =p

Sakurai made it sound like it was tied to everything you did in Smash Bros
GSP is offline play I'm pretty sure.
