Nintendo Downloads - April 2014

I'm hoping we get a GB Remix soon myself

Yeah, just finally went back and finished NES Remix in anticipation for 2. It's crazy to think I had that much fun considering a number of the games used are pretty terrible, so I'm definitely looking forward to the sequel and beyond.

And yeah, GB Remix for the 3DS is something I really want. And then there's also the idea of SNES remix, or maybe even a 3rd party NES remix using Mega Man and Castlevania and stuff. Just hope they keep this idea running at least a little longer, because it is really, really neat.

Dead brand? Bah. I've seen more people with an OG Gameboy shell for their iPhone than I've ever seen people playing the real thing out in the streets back in the day. If Nintendo doesn't want that money so be it.

I've never seen anyone with a game boy iPhone shell whereas back in the day I saw gameboys everywhere

BS-X Remix
N64DD Remix
Virtual Boy Remix
Wii U Remix

I'd really like a SNES one, but if they could somehow do a third-party version, that would be cool too.

So, will we be missing out on the PS3/4 deluxe edition content for Child of Light (the skins, the extra quest and whatnot)? Not that I would care that much if we didn't, still getting it day 1.

Sounds like the kind of exclusive content Sony would moneyhat for their platforms but who knows?

Commercial break:

if somebody's got a metroidvania itch to scratch and they've been through Fusion and Super a thousand times already, I wholeheartedly recommend Blackgate. Seriously.

I just realised Mario Kart 8 and Tomodachi's release dates are very close to each other.
Ugh, I should start saving so I can get both.

Pretty sure that today's is a holiday in Germany (due to Easter), so there shouldn't be any PR from Nintendo of Europe.

hmm not sure if this is the appropriate thread for asking game recommendation or not. but I'll ask anyway.

I had $35 on my account to buy games for 3ds. any recommendation? I like RPG, action adventure and visual novel games too like Phoenix Wright and Zero Escape games. I like games with interesting characters and story that I can play and finish the story and move on to other games. I'm still open to trying out games with little story like 2d mario games, or dungeon crawler game, but usually I rarely beat these games even though I had fun with them for some time.

here's some games that I already own
1. Pokemon X
2. Tales of Abbys
3. Zelda Ocarina of Time
4. Zelda Link between Worlds
5. Etrian Odyssey Millenium Girl
6. Fire Emblem
7. Phoenix Wright dual destinies
8. Brafely Default
9. Cave Story
10. Zelda Oracle of Seasons and Ages
11. SMT 4

so, any easy title to recommend? I admit I haven't finish all those games yet, but it'd be nice to know some other games if I want to buy one sometime.

edit: oh yeah, typo for the phoenix wright games. it's the latest one, love the series, currently replaying the series all over again, I'm at Phoenix Wright 2 right now. :D

You list Phoenix Wright 4 there; if you actually meant Phoenix Wright 4 (Apollo Justice), then I recommend Phoenix Wright 5 (Dual Destinies). But I'm guessing it was a typo or a number order dispute.

Technically, Dual Destinies is the fourth game with Phoenix Wright in the title, though it's the fifth in the series still...!

If you enjoyed EO: Untold, I highly recommend EO IV. It's far more open in terms of design due to its overworld, and thanks to the multiple dungeons feels like it has more variety. Also, I would recommend picking up Link's Awakening DX at some point if you enjoy the Zelda games and lack access to another copy of the game.

As if Capcpom or Konami would ever do something as cool as NES Remix with their old franchises. :\

It seems like a double win

You get to sell the VC games
Sell a new game based on old assets
And you tend to get free promotion from Nintendo

Mega Man in Mario
Link in Castlevania, etc

The levels are different depending on which character you pick. For example, Mega Man doesn't jump as well as Mario, who obviously lacks a cannon on his arm. Each level utilizes the characteristic of the player in order to achieve a win.

Is there anything this week other than Child of Light?

Any VC titles?

Oh wait, NES Remix right?

EDIT
Oh, nice Yoshi's Island!

Sended an email about Flipnote Studio 3D and Nintendo answered me ...in the most unexpected way

Not going to fool me, Nintendo.

I think it's understandable it takes time to transform the online community into something safer. Perhaps they're creating it from scratch.

I do think they should've released the tools now (offline portion of the app) and then the online part later as a patch.

Not going to fool me, Nintendo.

That's the thing. You could talk to one Nintendo rep and they'll tell you one thing, then talk to a different rep the same day and get a completely different answer. They are, unfortunately, unreliable and inconsistent.

Nintendolife posted their review for NES Remix 2. Their conclusion:

Nintendolife.com said:
NES Remix 2 mostly plays it safe, with a new set of games and challenges and a few small, yet welcome, additions such as a replay feature. While the game selection this time is undoubtedly stronger, there are fewer games and challenges overall, and we just couldn't help but shake the feeling that the challenges were easier this time around, as we got rainbow stars on almost every single challenge on our first try. Luckily, however, Super Luigi Bros. and Championship Mode (if you own the first game) help fill these gaps, providing yet another enjoyable package of rapid-fire retro goodness.

Trying to decide between Pocket Football Club, Inazuma Eleven and Weapon Shop de Omasse.

Depends on what you like my choice would be Inazuma Eleven since it has the more interesting gameplay and probably is the longest game to play. but all comes down to preference. because if you like soccer sims like football manager you should defitnely go for pocket football club.

Pocket football club: A soccer sim game so you manage your team train then give them stats and win cups but in a really charming kind of way. Also you can check your time via a website.

Inazuma Eleven: A soccer rpg game. You start with players with weak players just like a soccer sim but doing random 4 on 4 football matches you win experience with this experience they can learn special shots and better attack defence etc. controls are using the styles to intstruct your players and is very fun. your goal is to win the national cup. Also has a story and places to walk to.

Weaponshop: a game about crafting weapons probably the shortest one since all level 5 games are short but great fun haven;t played this one yet. But i heard knights visit you and you create their weapon for them to beat a dungeon and if they succeed they can bring your stuff to craft to get better weapons and better payment. It was written by a comedian so dialog should be intresting but heard there isn;t a world to explore like in inazuma.

I am super hyped for the Remix 2 seeing the kirby mission and the everything, made me have hope that this one hits all the right beats.

I'm hoping we get Castlevania III in the US. Konami's been pretty good about getting stuff over in a timely manner, except for TG16.
