Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 7: How Can My Smash Brother Be This Cut

I never actually thought about the Ice Climbers, at all. I just thought "they're two mountain climbers", and that was it.
 
I'm not sure if we'd get anymore veterans this month, given the metric crap-ton of characters we already got this month.

That's not to say I'd be opposed to more, it's just that I don't expect more to come this month. Though it would be nice to reveal the Ice Climbers now to rid the world of any doubt.
 
Not that I really believe Ridley will be playable anymore point now, aaaaaand I'm sure this has already been brought up before, but when you play on the Spirit Tracks stage as Toon Link Alfonzo tags in in place of Train Conductor Link. Maybe if Ridley is playable you get Meta/Omega/X-Ridley in place of the boss on Pyrosphere?

I've seen stuff like Mr. Tanaka-san, Mt. Fuji-san, cat left as "neko" (Because, the translator protested, Japanese people's concept of cats were different to Western people's). Grammar patterns are least common, but I sometimes get stuff like 'Let's enjoying bowling".

In regards to the Japanese comments, yes, I would say the fan-bases are pretty similar overall in what they want and how they react, with a few regional differences based on character popularity.

What research? You mean going onto internet forums and seeing what less than .01% of actual smash bros players want? Internet forums and outcry represent a very small number of consumers. If he only added what internet forums wanted we'd have no Wii Fit trainer.

That also doesn't make him a jerk. That's a very self-centered remark to make.

"He only showed a shadow of ridley and didn't make him playable, he's a jerk" sounds an awful lot like "My mom said she was getting me dessert, but it wasn't ice cream, she's a jerk!"

Doesn't Rosalina seem more complex than Ice Climbers? Also...I don't think they've anything to do with transformations, though Ivysaur is probably gone.

Eh, a large portion of the fanbase doesn't give a shit what we get. Hell, many of the fans are tripping off of veterans coming back. "Where's Ike?" "Where's Mewtwo?". They're in fucking Melee and Brawl. That's where they are.

It's a pretty popular, often-circulated theory that since Pyrosphere is an Other M stage, Other M Ridley is the stage hazard while OG Ridley is playable.

Not happening until SSB5
 
The only thing I really want to see other than characters are alternate color palettes.

I need to know who has blue, pink and purple alts.

Yeah, I'd need to invent a drinking game for that.

Proper nouns and certain not-normal things (monsters, weapons) that would sound stupid translated are okay by me, but when you inject random half-translations in like that it comes across as a ham-fisted attempt to look exotic.
