Nintendo Downloads - April 2014

No signs of Shovel Knight?

Probably May as for once Nintendo has their April release window planned out. Plus I imagine it takes at least a couple of weeks to pass cert post admission.

I'm hoping for one of the first two weeks in may which is fine since we have NES Remix 2 this week and Child of Light next.

- Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
- F-Zero: GP Legend
- Klonoa: Empire of Dreams
- Mr. Driller 2
- Namco Museum
- Pac-Man Collection
- Super Mario Ball

Oh so, that's where I was getting the other F-Zero from...wait, two F-Zero games in the space of a month? Must be an Easter miracle. I'm surprised they haven't got Mario Kart Super Circuit to cash in on the Mario Kart 8 hype.

What's the difference between Namco Museum and Pac-Man collection? Just curious since I'm not really interested in any of the games above.

A rating doesn't say anything about a release date. I wouldn't expect the GP Legend to come next month (though it's possible, of course).

Going by Wikipedia Namco Museum includes Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, Galaxian, Dig Dug and Pole Position .
Pac-Man Collection includes Pac-Man, Pac-Mania, Pac-Attack and Pac-Man Arrangement

No, but they wouldn't have rated them by now if they weren't going to be released within the next month, right?

So, unless you're the biggest Pac-Man fanatic ever, go with Namco Museum.

I tried hard, but I can't make sense of this sentence.
If you mean they must have a rating if they want to release it next month, I don't think that's true, some ratings only show up when the game's released.
If you mean a rating must mean a release is imminent, we still have some pretty old ratings for WiiU VC games with no release in sight.

I'd guess all of these have much better versions out there.

Pac-Man Arrangement is worth the price of admission. It's the good version, I believe, and not the crappy one they put in that Pac-Man Museum collection on PSN/XBLA recently.

Actually, that's not fair. That version was good, too, but not as great as the 1996 version that's in the GBA game.

thanks, I've been thinking to get Link Awakening for a while, EO4 maybe later after I beat EO:Untold first.

how's smt devil survivor and soul hacker? and Project X Zone?

Devil Survivor is amazing.

Good battle system and map design that require you to use strategy + addicting demon fusion system + good story (the modern setting is a nice change of pace from all the ''medieva'' RPGs) + decent voice acting + lot's of different enemies + ton of content (took me 40+ hours for one route) + new game plus and multiple paths = awesome

The only thing I really disliked was one of the party members being super whiny and selfish, and that you have to replay a lot of the same content to access all the different routes. Still, at least your first 2 playthroughs should be fairly different because upon completion you unlock new optional battles and I doubt you will be able to recruit all the characters the first time through. You also don't have enough in-game time to view all the possible events in just one playthorugh.

I seem to recall Minish Cap having a little emphasis on linking with a buddy to get things. Probably not going to be able to 100% this solo, right?
You can get them all on your own but if I recall there is a glitch (only in the PAL version?) that means you can miss one and never get it.

I mean both really, but the bolded is more important tbh. Which Wii U VC games have been rated but not released?

The oldest that's still not released is Pop'n Twinbee - Rainbow Bell Adventures from early December last year. I must admit I thought there were some older ones, but maybe I was thinking of some PSN ones. The 3DS also has a rating for "The Mysterious Murasame Castle" (so Nazo no Murasame Jō) from May, not sure what happened to that.

Put like five hours into Advance Wars today after downloading it. Never played the original - it holds up very well.
I put in about 20 in less than a week. Got to the final mission which is fucking crazy and never came back :(

But yeah, it's a great game (i'd never played it either...wildly addicting).

Nintendo Network Premium offer should be extended forever (gonna end on December 31st :(), and go to the 3DS too. Makes me curious about their "rewarding players for buying lots of games" thing.

I've stopped buying games on the 3DS because I like the DDP so much!

I hope they extend it as well.

Namco Museum GBA

Beware! Wait for Namco Museum 50th Anniversary (GBA), that one is much better and has TATE mode for all the games! Imagine playing TATE (i.e. vertical) mode on the gamepad! I loved playing Ms/Pac-Man/Galaga/Dig-Dug (never liked Rally-X) on my tate'd Micro.

Would've hoped they went with that one instead they've probably chose the old version because it's not the 50th Anniversary anymore, damn

So, uhh, THIS is out tomorrow:

Nintendo's going to be upset that this game steals all of NES Remix 2's sales.

So im an ambassor 3ds as such i already have metroid fusion so do they consider that, if i want to buy the wiiu version?

No. They also do not consider that if you own a NES game on the wii/wii u that you would get any discount on the 3ds front.

Does anyone know why my eshop icon was blinking on the Wii U main UI screen (this was yesterday), but when I checked it, nothing was changed or added since my last visit. I think I've had it happen once before.

Is Namco Museum the version of the game where Pac Man is played with only half the screen showing and it scrolls when you get to the top/bottom of the screen? If so, thanks for saving me the money. I will wait for the 50th Anniversary edition.

Error Code: 007-2916 .. this is infuriating, I can't download anything from the eshop without running into this error.

I'm experiencing the issue across both the Japanese and European stores, it's made downloading digital titles next to impossible.

I can't even get a minute into a download without the error code popping up.

Do we have any idea what the cause might be, I have not once ran into this error previously? : [

Edit: This is on the 3DS

You're having the same problem too? I'm in the US, and I've been trying to download Animal Crossing since last night.

EDIT: Just saw this recent topic on Gamefaqs: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/997614-nintendo-3ds/69089452

Seems we're not the only ones with this problem

I'm afraid so, the only advice I can give is to restart the download each time it fails, but this could take up to several hours, downloading in sleep mode would also do the trick, but after leaving my 3DS to download FF Curtain Call during the night.. [8 hours later] I came back to see download at 56% : [

You're pretty much screwed for the time being.

I tried redownloading it again and it finally worked to completion. Hopefully whatever issue Nintendo's server has is over now.

Had a mild heart attack when I saw Child of Light on the list. I guess this is so people can get the game middle of the week instead of waiting till Thursday?

Still on the fence on the GBA Yoshi's Island, never played that version and I have a feeling the difference in the music will bother me.

Imagine Yoshi's Island's music coming out of a Genesis/MegaDrive sound chip and that's basically the GBA summed up. I would only bother with the GBA version if you wanted Yoshi's Island on the go and played it on an actual GBA.

It pains me to know that StarFox and Yoshi's Island have never made it to the Virtual Console, Wii or Wii U. Maybe it has something to do with that Super FX chip that was used for both games.
