XBL: Games with Gold

For the record i do own both Dust and Bastion. But my line of thinking is. The people who enjoy types of games like Dust and Bastion already own them, but the majority of people don't play these types of games. I was think when an Average Joe sees that Dust is Free they'll glance at it and be like Meh this looks stupid. I think Bastion seems like it would have more of an approachable feel to it. And trust me i do know people that will look at the free game and if it doesn't interest them immediately they'll just forget about it

Dust is excellent, easily one of the best games they've offered with Games for Gold.

Reminds me that I was going to write a review about it in the GAF thread after I 100%'ed it for Noogy to read, but things were so busy that I never got around to doing that :(.

I've actually been planning on picking up Dust since it came out, just haven't finished my backlog to justify buying a new game... that'd be awesome if it was on GwG.

REMEMBER CITADEL*** Sorry, what?[/QUOTE]

I have a lot of friends on Xbox Live who don't play much of a variety of games. I've tried to recommend great games to them. They'll look at it once at face value and not want to download the game or even consider buying it because it looks "lame" or "stupid". Like one person said in this thread before about the "Fur" being controversial

Edit: sorry bout that, screwed that one up

Never pulled the trigger on Dust but have wanted to play it so I'm glad it's coming (if true). My gold sub is running out in May and, while I won't get rid if my 360 anytime too soon, I am backing away from XB as a platform going forward. I'll never be a gold subscriber again. Nice to get some more good freebies before I head out the door.

It's a ridiculous reason for ignoring a great game. Nobody should pander to stupid people.

Saying "everyone" owns a game is one of the dumbest laziest statements one can make. Remember when "everyone" already owned Minecraft before it hit 360? And then "everyone" had the digital version of it before it hit retail? Even when we're not talking about huge hits, it's quite silly to think "everyone" owns any game.

Dust is a hell of a game. Bought it day one, and was impressed and entertained from start to finish. Everyone should grab this if you've not played it. Combat is super satisfying, and the accompanying visual FX put a lot of full-priced games to shame.

Just renewed my Live Gold so I started looking into GwG.
First of all, why can't I buy these games in the webstore without having a payment option listed on my account? It didn't even show as free when I clicked on buying Deadlight. Did I do something wrong, does the webstore take a while to recognize my status? This will come in handy when Xbone games starts appearing with the service.

I then proceeded downloading it on the 360 itself. Is it normal that you don't get any email receipt of your purchase? I just want to be sure that the game is locked to my account so I can delete it and download it later on (I can, do I?).

Played all three just like every other game that has been on this service or plus. I don't give a shit. These services suck ass though. They should let you pick a game yourself. (Make it so it has to be a year or two old).

I own all three of those games, two of them I got for free even as well.

But that does remind me that I only have about 10 minutes of playtime in Saint's Row 3 - got it for free on disc when it was 5 bones + a coupon for that 5 off.

No idea how good SR3 turned out to be, but I got the feeling long ago that it wasn't as good as SR2, which I finished 100% aside from the last online rank Achievement.

Happy about Dust, came close to buying it several times. Don't know what to think about Saints Row 3. I have too many open world games in my backlog (Saints Row 4, GTA V, Sleeping Dogs).
