US PSN: Golden Week Sale Celebrates Japanese Games

Atelier Totori
Metal Gear Rising
Persona 4 Golden
Ys

Tales of Symphonia and Muramasa are mentally locked in but now I'm trying to eliminate one...possibly two of those D:

I'm favoring keeping Atelier Totori just because after all the buzz I feel like I need to give it a shot. Metal Gear Rising is only $20 physical so I might just grab that down the line instead. I dunno about Persona and Ys though...

deals like this are how digital gaming should be done. if you are getting no physical disc the prices need to come down,,,, way down like they are here.

Getting for sure:

Atelier Totori, Chrono Cross, MGS HD, Tales, Ys

Might get: ZOE, P4G(to replace a physical copy) Murumasa(same reason), DBZ, Totori

Apologies if this has been asked before, but regarding the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, if I have access to the PS3 and Vita version, which would be better to get? Like, does the game play well on the Vita (i.e.: controls well), or is it better to play it on a TV with a controller?

Getting Hot shots and Metal Gear Solid HD Vita
Edit: Hot shots not Vita? Dangit. Probably will change in June right?

It definitely controls well on a vita surprisingly but it depends on what type of experience you want. You wanna play the best MGS games on the go or you wanna play them in all their cinematic crazy long cutscene, amazing gameplay glory on a TV. I should also mention peacewalker comes with the console versions while they force you to buy peacewalker seperate on Vita and it's the PSP version instead of native vita.

You literally cannot go wrong with either version.

I suppose I can get Atelier Ayesha to see if I might like this series.

I want to get Armored Core Verdict Day, but I am afraid it will be super dead online
I'm pretty sure I will be getting Verdict Day, you can add me. I'm sure other people will get it during the sale.

Since you're getting Totori twice, I recommend getting Meruru instead =p

Do you mean the cut out or cut down some of the cutscenes on the Vita version?

Ohh sorry if I worded that weird. It's literally the same exact game on both PS3 and Vita. All cutscenes intact, all gameplay intact, all vr missions intact, metal gear1-2 intact, basically everything intact. It all comes down to if you want to play on the go or if you want to play it on your TV while chilling on the couch/bed/etc. Of course you can always enjoy playing it on the Vita on your couch/bed/etc as well.

This definitely helped me out. Thank you very much for your input!

If you have a Vita and haven't played P4G, you'd be crazy to pass it up at this point. It's by far the best game on the system.

A shame Danganroppa (sp) is still so expensive comparatively speaking.

I have both and I'd say the only reason to pick up the PS3 version is for PW. The framerate issue for MGS2 on Vita is overblown. For all intents and purposes that game is 30fps on Vita. Only a couple of sections in the whole game run higher than that.

I beat the game on the vita with ease, and it turned out being my favorite mgs game of the series.

DMC HD Collection is amazing, buuuuuut I've run into some issues with the PSN version. Once in a while, only the audio plays during cutscenes and I'm forced to reset, and the game has a pretty decent chance of freezing while navigating the menus. I was afraid of ever switching weapons / styles during missions because of this. I found some other comments saying they had run into the same problem with the PSN version. I haven't gotten around to redownloading it and seeing if that helps, but yeah, just a heads-up.

Would have bought Ys Celceta but I beat Origin yesterday. Need some fresh air to avoid franchise fatigue.

I'm for sure picking up the MGS HD Collection for the PS3 (I've never played the MGS games) and the Tales of Symphony Collection (I've never played ToS). Anything else anyone here would recommend? (I've already played P4G, DMC Collection, ZoE Collection, and the new Ys game)

Man, that sucks. I bought Tales of Symphonia last month for like $30 and I haven't even played it yet. Everyone, go get that for that price if you haven't yet.

Which of these games has Laura Bailey as a main or co-main cast member that's not Persona 4 Golden ( because I already own it ) ? That's the game I will buy for my third one next to one of the Ateliers and DBZ.

Can't resist:

Muramasa $7.49
Chrono Cross $3.49

Might be able to resist:

Atelier Totori $19.59
MGS Collection Vita $8.99
Ys Celceta $19.59

If I hate most JRPGs will I hate P4G?

I liked FFVII, Skies of Arcadia, Suikoden well enough to finish them. (Actually I loved SoA.)
