Here's a video of someone playing the first 20 minutes of Chrono Trigger on PS3:

I don't think I could handle it.
Hope GCT is running early today, I needs to get mah Snake on.
That was because of the loading issues on disc for Chrono Trigger. Does that still apply to the PSN version?
Doesn't the DS version have a cropped vertical space due to the decreased native resolution of the DS compared to what the SNES could output?
From what I've played of Legendia, Symphonia is far better. Other fans generally rank it pretty low compared to Symphonia and most of the series too.I've only ever played Legendia. How does Symphonia compare?

Damn, I didn't know it was that slow. The fast loading option didn't help one bit?
Still menu and battle lag, yes. I wouldn't say it's as bad, but the PS1 ports basically had load timers hard coded into the game.
Much like FFT for the PSP. Even with the CPU overclock or playing on Vita it still lags for really big spells/summons because the game was coded with set buffer times that limit it.
At least that's my understanding.
Yeah, I'm wondering if maybe the loading option helps, because that video makes it look terrible.
The only reason I still haven't gotten it. I need some hard convincing still I feel like to get it at $35 more. I know it's the best version. Just wish the ps1 version was better. That video was bad lol.DS version still goes for $40 bucks. not getting it at that price.

Chrono cross and vagrant story are two psx RPGs that I've tried starting at least 2-3 times and I just can't get into them. I'm getting cross just to see if I can finally understand what the hell is happening during the battles.Am I the only one that likes Cross better than Trigger? I feel like people are afraid to admit they like Cross better than Trigger on this board. *runs and hides*.

I too like Chrono Cross more. Hadn't played Trigger before so I wasn't expecting "Chrono Trigger 2", maybe that helped. I played CT after CC and liked it but not as much as Chrono Cross.
Nah! I've been quite vocal about me liking Cross better than Trigger; and FFVIII better than VII and IX. My two favorite RPGs ever too.Am I the only one that likes Cross better than Trigger? I feel like people are afraid to admit they like Cross better than Trigger on this board. *runs and hides*.

That doesn't mena that the others suck, just that everything about each of those 2 games was better ...to my tastes. From visuals, to sound, to gameplay, character design, ....everything.

I don't think Legendia is really highly regarded, at all.
Chrono Cross is a great game, but I could never agree it's better than Trigger. It's brilliant though, really good. The OST is godly.
Nope fucking love Cross and was generally surprised when i saw a good chunk the internet shitting on it.
I guess its because i wasn't under the expectation it of being "Chrono Trigger 2"
It plays identically to the PS1 version. There are occasional slow downs on big spells, but it doesn't hamper gameplay much. The loading takes are also "hard coded" so you have to sit through the same ol' PS1-era swirly battle thing.
I knew from day 1 there would be a lot of hate for CC even then... I personally loved the music, and the story telling was absolutely top notch.
The music in this game was always the best feature though, no doubt. This isn't the best rendition of Time's Scar though... I think I even prefer the original to this honestly.
Found it http://youtu.be/t48qxtw65II?t=2m25s
While it's actually part of a medley instead of just Time's Scar by itself, I prefer this orchestrated version.
Will the MGS games be on sale individually? I only care about 3 and Peace Walker.
I hope so. I only want to buy MGS2.
Someone answered you or they answered someone else. Use the search button. They use the D-pad for contextual stuff and blah blah blah.I asked this in this thread and got no reply.
How is the Metal Gear series on Vita? Are the controls fine and enjoyable to play?
Searching GameFAQs' game specific boards usually gets you this kind of info quickly too.Someone answered you or they answered someone else. Use the search button. They use the D-pad for contextual stuff and blah blah blah.

Wow I definitely can't handle that. Any word if it runs faster on the vita?Doubt it
Apparently not. It really is a shame.
If I'm not really interested in multiplayer, is World Invitational still the HSG game to get?
if nothing happens on Wed, think it's safe to go all in?![]()
I'm playing Chrono Trigger on Vita right now, and I'm pretty sure setting disc speed to fast shaved off a couple seconds for the "loads". They're about 3 seconds or so, when before they were more like 5-6 seconds. It's also my first time through the game, so it probably bothers me less than it would some people. Still, completely playable.
I don't know what the consensus is, but I've got Out of Bounds on PS3 and World Invitational on Vita, and while they are both good I'd say if you are playing on PS3 then Out of Bounds is the better of the two titles. Better courses, IMO. That said, I plan on picking up the PS3 version of World Invitational on PS3 since it's only $5.
