PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | April 2014

Monument Valley is the current iOS indie darling and there is a chance it will be coming to the Vita. Reading the impressions from the neogaf thread hypes me up for it.

“We’re looking at getting it on the PS Vita, and a lot of people ask about a PC version, but we’re portrait and touchscreen, so it’s not easy. We could do it, but it would be a bit crap!”

hmm SteamWorld Dig reminds me of good old Lode Runner
but there's something else about it that's both charming and frustrating lol

Lode Runner was one of the first games I've ever seen, but I just discovered it a coulpe of years ago. I've looked for that game for ages, I knew it under the name "Il meccano"

I didn't find Steamworld dig frustrating though. I suggest to use more teleporters to make the traversal easier

WoTL has really bad slowdown.

Theres an unofficial patch that fixes it, but you have to be on custom firmware

It's not that bad. You get used to it. And the new game has new content and a script that actually makes sense. Turns out FFT had a pretty intriguing plot all these years!

Eaaaaaaugh!!!!

It's been asked a hundred times, but I've yet to see an answer-

Is there going to be a PS+ discount on Child of Light later today when the store updates?

So after a lot of googling it looks like the transfer is hanging because of whatever drm/encryption they are doing. I guess i'll just leave it plugged in and hope it finishes before the battery dies. I remember when I used to think that console gaming was simpler and more user friendly than pc gaming.

Reposting my question from the Golden Week sale here.

Question for those who have played Atelier Totori Plus. Should I use a guide for it? I've heard there are multiple ending to it and I don't really want to waste my time getting a bad one. Or is it like some super obvious choice that'll determine the ending and I should just go in blind?
I think it is much more enjoyable to play games without a giude.

any chance for child of light on vita?

I am actually quite surprised Ubisoft didn't port this to Vita right away. The UbiArt engine runs well on the Vita and the Rayman Legends numbers were ok compared to the other platforms.

Rayman Legends LTD December 2013:
Wii U: 88k
Xbox 360:42k
PS3: 30k
Vita: 20k

Vita version got released late and with missing content so selling 2/3 of the PS3 version in the Vita's worst region is quite respectable in my opinion.

The Vita version was day and date with the other versions in North America, and while it didn't sell comparatively poorly, 20k is still an awful number for a big publisher.

The game sold poorly on nearly all platforms so just gutting the Vita from ports seems unfair. It's not like Ubisoft dropped the Wii U support after everything except Rayman bombed hard so I am a little bit salty, especially after AC: L did fairly well, which Guillemot confirmed himself.

Child of Light is also a download only game without a high budget so the sales don't have to be that high.

Have you missed all of the shenanigans with Watch Dogs on Wii U? Unless they announce the next AC for Wii U, it looks like it'll be the Just Dance machine for them.

The game seems far more demanding than Rayman, the Vita probably just can't run it without a significant investment. Rayman Legends was already a difficult port.

War of the lion more feature, voiced cutscene, more job, better translation. Defnitely the definitive version

This.
Slowdown sucks but doesn't outweigh the positives.
You'll want to experience this with a good translation. This game is a masterpiece.
You can also recruit Cloud and Balthier among others.
Cutscenes are gorgeous and superbly animated and also fully voiced (good VA too).

Guys, i kinda want to shake the people in the Golden week thread asking when the update is going to happen and being annoyed that they current have to seach for things because the update hasn't happened.

Updates have been happening at around the same time, on the same day, for several years now. SEVERAL YEARS.

I just take a breath, tell myself "hey, maybe they bought a PS3 today for the first time or something" and then not post a reply because it'll be an incredibly passive aggressive comment and bah, it's not worth it.

**vent over**

I don't know whether to get MGS HD Collection, or Muramasa Rebirth (which would be a lot easier on my memory card).

I haven't played any of these games, though I feel like I'd enjoy the gameplay of Muramasa better.

I think Muramasa is smaller. 450mb. I dont know what size MGS HD Collection is, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't > 1gb.
It lists the sizes on the store so you can look it up.

edit: I looked it up. MGS HD Collection is 3.3gb

Yup, and the collection requires you download both games, since they come bundled together in one file. But Muramasa stinks of being a free PSN+ game soon. So i dunno.
