What is going on with the NA release of Super Mario Kart? The wait is killing me.

And Links Awakening DX beaten. For such a good game, I kinda saw the bad ending coming. I mean, the game hints it crazy. The dungeons scaled nicely difficulty.

Good game. Worth the 6 bucks.

Now to wonder what is next.

Japan's Wii U Virtual Console releases for May 7 are Wagan Land for Famicom and Pop'n Twinbee for SuFami, two games that will absolutely not see release outside Japan. So no reading the tea leaves this week.

3DS gets Donkey Kong Land 3.

The big question is will the US get a banging week of VC stuff or a week of wanting to bang our heads against a hard surface? Are we in store for more GBA action? I know a MM GB game is coming though, so it's already bound to be a decent week.

Well there's a Mega Man GB game, Picross e4, Mario Golf, Kirby Triple Deluxe, and the Denpa Men 3 demo all on the 3DS front, so I wouldn't expect anything more on 3DS.

No telling what's coming on the Wii U front.

Help me out. I can only afford one game for now...so should it be NES Remix 2 or Child of Light 2? Played Remix 1 and loved it. Also wan't to play something new and haven't seen too much of Child of Light but everything I've heard seems pretty positive.

With this lackluster VC week in Europe, I wouldn't expect much in the US either. But maybe there's a chance for something bigger like Super Mario Kart.

Capcom announced that they will release their GBA games on WiiU VC service.

dunno if old or not but good news nevertheless

edit: source is gonintendo (which crashes constantly on my PC due some wierd emirates ads)

Good news indeed, but now that I think, the Capcom output for the GBA was frankly disappointing. Aside of the Megaman games (which were ok but none great imo) and the Street Fighter ports I can't remember any other good Capcom game.

Breath of Fire 2 port was good.

Onimusha Tactics was great.

From what I hear the script is sadly the same terrible one from the SNES version but there are boosts to obtained money and EXP so in that respect it may be a better buy.

I expect the first game will still be in limbo though.

Yeah, why is that? Breath of Fire II is always on the VC, but never the first one

I don't know if this actually affects the ability to release it on VC, but the SNES version of BoF1 was published by Squaresoft in NA. The GBA port was published by Capcom though, so maybe they'll put that on VC.

Wow, I was just talking about doing a Lufia marathon and was trying to track down a local copy of the Game Boy Color cartridge.

I guess May is a wash for anything interesting 3DS VC since it's Mega Man month or something?

At least Game & Watch Gallery 3 has been rated, so I know it's (possibly) getting close.

I'm still waiting for Startropics I and II for the 3DS VC...

The GBC Lufia isn't very good. It's a huge step down from Lufia II. Random dungeons, no puzzles, ugly ass art and UI.

Finally, I've always wanted to try this one.

I remember I thought I was doing well but apparently I was ignoring something important because the game just kind of ended unexpectedly at some point because I just didn't do some basic thing ever and the girl was like "Well, my opinion of you is high" or something.

It was really weird.

Surprised to see Lufia: TLR show up. I guess Square-Enix hasn't completely buried it now that they have control of it.

The two SNES Lufia games are my 3rd and 4th favorite games ever, so it was never going to live up to those. And, I like it less than The Ruins of Lore as well. It definitely has its issues. But, it's still a decent enough game.

And anything is better than that disgrace Curse of the Sinistrals game that Square-Enix shoved out. That was a travesty.

I guess this is a good place to ask, how did the new Mario & Luigi turn out compared to BIS? I heard about too many tutorials but once you get going is it really great?

I really loved it, and the soundtrack is the GOAT for the series. There are quite a few tutorials at times, but if you know that going in I think it's a terrific and unyieldingly creative entry in the series.

Sounds like you liked it as much BIS, which was such a high point for that series. The backlash here made me wait for a sale and see, though

Ha, "Dinky Kong"

God, Kiddy Kong has a hideous design. Possibly the worst looking thing Rare has ever created outside of Jet Force Gemini.

The tutorials weren't really the problem for me per se, but the pacing in general. It is just agonizingly languid, especially in the beginning. The tutorials contribute to that, but there are a lot of little things.

Unfortunately I didn't manage to play more than 10 hours, but I hear it gets a lot better as you progress (I do want to go back to it eventually). In its defence, I will advocate for the beautiful graphics and fantastic music.

I loved RARE, I truly did.

They always sucked at character design though. Especially those damned googly eyes.
