Star Man Takes the Stage!
Not to single you out, but why is it that Starman is always the suggested/expected Pro Wrestling rep? That'd be like getting King Hippo instead of Little Mac. Even though he's visually bland, Fighter Hayabusa is considered the protagonist of Pro Wrestling, so he'd probably be the character Sakurai would go with.

Pic of the day. We didn't introduce ALL of the Assist Trophies in the Smash Bros. Direct. Here's Dillon from Dillon's Rolling Western!! He may rival Sonic in the art of rolling.

Pic of the day. This is his trophy. He may be an animal, and his buckles are definitely on the adorable side, but there's no denying he looks cool!! His Assist Trophy can even do things like a quick charge.

... I almost spat out my soda when I saw the picture of Dillon standing next to Sonic earlier today. But then I saw that he's only an assist trophy and immediately felt a bit disappointed.

I'm really REALLY love the Dillon's Rolling Western series, and I consider it one of my favorite new Nintendo franchises. (Also, I think the gameplay is fine the way it works. The gameplay in the Rolling Western series isn't bad, because everything does work well with each other. The only downfall of it is that it's heavy on multi-tasking and can get a bit exhausting.) I think that Dillon would have made an excellent fighter in the game, even more so if they were to some how incorporate the tower gimmick in there.

But even though I'm disappointed, I'm not really upset about it. I've already have plenty other characters I'm eager to use, and just having him in there as an assist trophy makes me happy that he's more than just a collectable trophy. Glad to see him in there in some shape or form, but here's hoping that he doesn't become too obscure over the years and becomes a fighter next time. He's already a bit obscure as it is.

Though I'll admit... him being a Assist trophy is bittersweet not just because of what it means, but from seeing the reaction of the people. Surprisingly I ran into A LOT of people today that were disappointed to see him as an assist trophy. I mean more than I ever saw even talk about the series. When I popped in on here, SSMB, a bunch of other sites I go on and even Miiverse, I was expecting more people to go, "Who the heck is that?" than "Why isn't he playable?!" or "He looks cool."

Me too: After one of the new recruit's musings on Takamaru , a remix of his badass music and a feudal castle stage with falling Sakura blossoms has me fully on board with him as our retro pick!

Honestly with everything that went on for him, I truly expect him to be up as well. He just seems like the most obvious retro at this point.

"The Monado is now an item, use it to slice your opponents!"

That would be the most horrible thing to happen. Lol.

Do you NOT have a 3DS? Seriously, he was on the front lines of the ESHOP during its early stages.

I do, got with when pokemon came out. Haven't even had nearly enough time to play half the 3DS games I want to. Just finally got fire emblem. lol, I just don't have enough time to game.

Same here. I haven't play the games but I have been meaning to for last 6 months so I will eventually when I managed to have money and time.

I haven't really support Dillion because I always thought that he would be fantastic assist trophy, but at same time, I thought that he would be an amazing playable representative for EShop franchises. I even toyed with the idea that he would be great rival against Sonic if he got in; unfortunately today they just confirmed that Dillion was assist trophy. I'm not even upset or angry but I'm disappointed (just little) with the fact that he look so gorgeous in HD and he would be even more amazing if he's playable character.

At least, he and his franchise got a good nod by being assist trophy in the game rather than being trophy or sticker. :) Good day, indeed.

Yeah, it's going to be a nightmare to get used to at first because the 'C-Stick' will and face buttons are like switched. I'm used to swiping to the left and below my buttons, not above and to the right. I'm going to try and use it to start, but if it's too weird I'm just going to buy the adapter to use my GC controller on it.

Diskun (aka the hardest trophy to get in Melee)
Sukapon
Stanley the Bugman
Ricky Winterborn
Nester
Lark
Zael
Popeye
Mike Tyson
None of those characters interest me at all. Then again I don't know if I genuinely believe many of them have a chance. Mike Tyson will never be playable in Smash Bros., and neither will Popeye. If Zael was to become playable over other more deserving RPG characters like Isaac or Shulk...man. Brooklyn rage.

Overhyped.

EDIT: On second thought, just "hyped". Thanks.

lol I was mostly joking but Nester/Lark could be a dark horse since Pilotwings has its own Smash Bros. icon.

Like Villager, if not SSB4 then maybe SSB7!

Imagine it like this:

I've been loading up Melee in Dolphin from time to time using the Wii U Pro just to get a feel for the controller and this is exactly how I lay out my button mapping. It is a bit jarring at first reaching up for the second stick though, but you get used to it.

It's even more jarring using the radically different triggers for wavedashing and L-cancels but we probably don't have to worry about that for Smash 4, lel

Coinciding with Smash, Nintendo will introduce the Wiimote Mk2 with interchangeable button/joystick configurations. It'll look like the dogbone NES controller except with a lot more options, and will feel way better than it looks.

SSB4 will be perfectly playable without having to own a Nunchuk.

That button-swapping patent will surely come in handy in recreating the GCN controllers for Smash Bros use.
